We went on a tour for our Bestie's birthday, and we had a spectacular time!! The wines were delicious and the wineries were beautiful!! We spent a good amount of time at three wineries (the tour lasted about 5 hours), but it felt like it all went by so fast! We had ordered lunch at one of the wineries, and the food was delicious. However, it felt like the prices were a little high for the food we ordered. Nevertheless, they were accommodating with at least two vegan options! (Totally wish they had more) For my vegans, the panini was good! Mark (or 'Rags') was our tour guide, and he really made the day spectacular! He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic! He let us choose the music in the van while we went from place to place and gave us an itinerary of what to expect before we started! He was also very nice and joyful! He also brought out birthday cupcakes for the three birthday girls!! It was very cute! He was personable and a joy to spend the day with! I only wish the tour of the winery was longer! Woohoo! Had an amazing experience with Temecula wine tours. Took the tour for my 50th birthday celebration. I had Liz as my guide and Heidi as the driver. I could not have asked for a better team to spend my wine tour with. Liz was funny, out-going, and always available to take a picture for you. We went to three wineries and each one had something special to offer. The lunch we had was exquisite. The brownie pairing with wine was amazing!!! What a wonderful experience! First off, Breana (in the office) was amazing! She had great communication and took care of getting everything set up for our tour! She was so easy to work with. Then, our day with Emmanuel happened. What a fantastic and knowledgeable wine guide he was! He basically started the tour with simply asking what kind of experience we wanted. We had such an awesome time with them recently, celebrating 2 birthdays. Their trolley was so cute, comfortable, clean and really nicely decorated inside. Our tour director Laurie was so nice, entertaining, and such a plus that she was so knowledgeable about wine and winemaking. Meet up at Lorimar Winery: Greeted by Calvin and the very cool SoCal Wine Tour bus which is essentially a party bus and all you can drink water to stay hydrated throughout the trip. 3 Wineries: SouthCoast Winery Oak Mountain Winery w/Lunch at the Cave Somerset w/ a short but sweet tour Favorite: In regards to the best wines/ tasting overall SouthCoast Winery was SO GOOD!!! We ended up with 3 bottles. Our tasting allowed for 1 welcome glass, 5 tastings, and because we couldn't decide which we liked better between 2 of them they had us try them again (Ps we ended up buying both because I preferred one and my Signficant Other preferred the latter) ... needless to say I was drunk after the 1st tasting Lunch: We at at The Cave at Oak Mountain Winery in which my partner and I both opted for the Italian Sub which was sooooo delicious, but all I could say is because of all the drinking I could've ate 2 of the meals Wine Tour: They showed us the clay pots in which the wine was made and we were able to try a premature wine... which made me realize why the ageing of the wine is so important... but still a cool experience quite literally as the room was a bit chilly but refreshing after all the drinking. I have been on many wine tours. I have never been on such a disorganized and sloppy tour. The meeting location was given to me as an address. My GPS took me to the back of a winery, which was actually the winery we were meeting at. They should've just given me the Winery name as the meeting location. The driver spoke so fast I could hardly understand what he was saying. Our wine "expert" guide didn't join us till the second Winery. Apparently he was busy finishing another tour. At the third winery, they bragged that this winery ages its wine in Clay Pots and it included a tour of the winery. The tour consisted of us in a very cold barrel room where they showed us the clay pots. We were not allowed to taste any of the wines that they aged in Clay Pots. The wines tasted were terrible, and I poured almost everyone out. Definitely not worth the price. read more

Amazing experience with Dark chocolate and Rags. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The vibes were just right. The tour was moved at a timely pace. Enough time for tasting and some exploring. Until we arrived at Lorimar winery. At no fault of the tour company, the winery just seemed to not have good communication skills as there was another tour group that had the same problems. Not getting their food or drinks on time. Calvin and our crew communicated with us what little information was being passed down by the incompetent staff. As a culinary professional with several years in hospitality I couldn't fathom a whole section being is such disarray and not taking proper accountability. Calvin and Moses made good on their part to refund our portion of the food voucher that was included in our price. Even though the winery seemed hesitant to do so while we discussed the matter there. Calvin stood up for his group and tried to do what he could to make sure we felt heard. The winery was the problem. Not the tour group. 10/10 will book again if we don't visit this same winery lol. Great tour! Came across this tour via tripadvisor and I am glad we booked! They took us around to 3 different winerys where we got to do tastings at each. There is a lunch option as well on the 2nd stop which was good. It was more of a tasting than a tour, the last stop at Somerset had more of a learning experience along with the tasting. My girlfriend and I decided to book with him because he offered a late bird tour the day before Valentines Day, which fit perfectly in our day plans. From the very beginning he was super friendly and accommodating by picking us up since we got a little lost! From there he gave us an overview of the night, answered all our questions, and was honestly great to talk to; he's a really genuine guy. The first winery he took us to really blew us away, it was a local spot, not too well known outside of Temecula, but wow; we had to come back and buy a second bottle of wine the next day because we couldn't pass up the opportunity. There are clearly many options when you go searching for a wine tour and to be completely transparent with this review, I found So Cal wine tours through Viator, did my research and read reviews and could clearly see right through the couple of single star reviews so I decided to book our trip for my wife's birthday. Now, lets fast forward to the day of the trip, the pickup location being at circle k actually worked out in my favor, she had no clue what we were doing and she really had no idea what was going on when we pulled up to a Cirlce k and I said, " don't worry, your going to have a great time", don't we all have a good time at our local Circel K? The bus pulled up and out came our guide ready to share all the details of the trip with us. He filled us in that first we would be going to a very low key chill winery then we would head to a more hustle and bustle spot where our pre-ordered lunch would be served and last but definitely not least we would head to what he was calling the "party winery". At the first winery it was very chill with a private patio where we were served our tastings, we also met Moses at this spot. One of our friends could not resist the urge to tell Moses she thought he was a beautiful man which made for a very awkward moment for the rest of us and ( you as well... i'm sure your reading this Moses) anyways I was really looking for good Port to purchase and I asked Moses about getting Port and he gave me the recommendations he had and BOOM! We bought bottles of port at the first winery as well as their sparkling brut. Winery #2 Oak Mountain - This was our least favorite winery, lunch was great and the wine was just okay with one or two that stood out but the atmosphere is what was lacking, you go up to a tiny bar to get your tastings with a huge line of people, to be honest it reminds of a college party or a wedding with an open bar when you are newly 21, so instead of hanging out and enjoying your time you are watching the clock and chugging your wine like a bottle of MD20/20 in the backyard of a friends house when you are 16 and their parents are on the way home. Honestly as we walked out to head back to the bus we noticed a really nice looking outdoor area that would have been an awesome place to sit down and have slower paced glasses of wine. Winery #3 Somerset- This was my personal favorite winery, the owner was our tour guide for the production tour, we are part of a wine making group here in Las Vegas so the production tour was not new for us but he did a great job with it and the terra cotta casks were pretty impressive. I asked the owner about tasting some of his ports since I was looking to purchase some rather than staying with the group and tasting on the outdoor patio he took us inside and grabbed some of the port he had left, it did not even have labels at this point. All I can say is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We did also end up buying a couple bottles of the port from Somerset and then went outside and relaxed while we had some of the sangria they offer outside. I personally like the live music and outdoor seating offered at this winery, it to me seemed like a great place to come spend an evening listening to music and drinking great wine. On the ride back to our cars we dropped off the group that was with us in the tour bus and then we asked Emanuel where he would recommend eating in old town Temecula since we were staying near there. He strongly recommended Gourmet Italia with not just a recommendation but descriptions of amazing bruschetta and other dishes that could easily be "veganized" since my wife is eating more vegan than the rest of us she was excited. Since this is a review of So Cal Wine Tour and not Gourmet Italia I will just say thank you for the recommendation because it was AMAZING. Overall the tour was great, the only complaints I had were not anything to do with the tour itself or SoCal Wine Tours. My birthday is the beginning of October and to be honest I would come back and do more wine tasting with SoCal wine Tours. read more
