I shop here because their prices are usually better. However on 6/12/24, Wednesday, I watched an employee with price tickets in her hands raise the prices on certain chips close to $2 a bag. These weren't the only items that were raised. We want good prices every day of the week, not this juggling act with food prices changing daily. read more

This WINCO has terrible Management. Forget about receiving any customer service here. I've shopped this WINCO store for 29 years and have seen it just get more and more ghetto. Your Team is is a reflection of Management good or bad. For example: I shopped for 1 1/2 hours for three different dishes I was making only to discover at check out that my new debit card had a security block on it. The cashier suspended my order and Management said I could write a check. So I went out to the car and got a check. When I got back Management said no you can't write a check. I said I've been shopping at this WINCO for 29 years, surely your system will recognize my check and see it's good. She said no they couldn't take my check. I said I will open my banking app to show you my account number and the check, is good. Sorry, no check. However, Management said I will put your food in the refrigerator while you go to GESA, to clear up the security block on your debt card. At this point I'm not very happy with being treated like a criminal. This is how a 29 year, loyal customer is treated!!! Off to Gesa to clear the block on the new DEBIT card. I went back to the store only to discover all my items were put back. No explanation. It was like they didn't even know me and once again terrible customer service! My suggestion is to shop at Richland Columbia point. So much cleaner and the Management reflects well on all the staff members I came in contact with. I LOVE WINCO! So I roll up to the glorious WinCo and an angelic choir started to sing (or was it screaming children??) as walked up the red carpet to the door (or was it sticky fruit punch spilled on the ground???). I grabbed my metal cart and raced up and down the isles, weaving in between strange creatures with kids orbiting them, filling it with wonderful food products. Chicken breasts, pounds of cheese, cases of cliff bars, bags of potatoes, heads of broccoli, bunches of cilantro and those flat cactus things you can smack someone on the ass with (see pic). Toss me in a 12 pack of beer and giant effin case of toilet paper 'cause the women come over here and make mummies with the stuff when I'm not looking. Satisfied, I head over to the checkout and wait in line while some creepy kid rams me in the back of the ankle with its cart. Finally its my turn and I and void the contents of the cart all over the conveyor belt. The married 19yr old lady behind the counter gives me a smile and apathetically tosses my crap down the conveyor. I run down to the end and start bagging all my stuff, double and triple bagging everything because I can, while people behind me are waiting. I zip back out to my car, victorious yet again!! WINCO is truly the COmpany of WIN! Cheap as hell, but all the variety you only wish you had at Costco. And free. protip: avoid around the first of the month, its busy. read more

This is a Food-4-Less grocery store in the Pacific Northwest. Everyone who lives in a trailer and mates with their cousin comes here to shop. Wait a minute, I shopped here ... nevermind. You will not be able to find a cheaper grocery store in this city (pop. 500) So I'm tired from work and don't want to be bothered. A man, who might have escaped from the convalescent home where they post up speeding signs that say "slow down. seniors at play," approached me. He started talking to me about how the dollar bill holds some secret message. And I go along with it, because you have to be nice to semi-seniors you know? This guy looked like he was in his 50s maybe 60s. So after he tells me that dollar tale, I try to exit stage right. Then he passes me a photocopied story idea and says if you need more details, you can contact me at this nursing home. I think wow! this guy is slick ... passing me his number. I'll wait 3 days to call him, just to play the game, you know? Well about what felt like 2 hours later, I finally got to part ways with him. And I tried hard to dodge him in the grocery aisles, hiding behind the soup and juice cans. Just when I was about to grab my last item and go to the register, the man bumps into me again. Oldie: Oh hi again! Me: Hi Oldie: Oh man, this is so weird. What a weird coincidence to run into you again. Me: Yeah Oldie: Well, ok talk to you later Me: Yeah (as he walks away and I turn my back ...) Oldie: Oh hey, .... (he approaches me again) Me: Yes? Oldie: You know .... Oldie: I've always liked .... I confess. I DIG Winco. Reasons why YOU need to shop here: 1. Tostino's frozen pizza is 99 cents vs. $1.24 at Walmart 2. They sell Umpqua ice cream. The chocolate and peanut butter is to die for. No, really. 3. Bulk foods. I thought that was a fad in the 80's. Nope. Winco sells it and they dont give a shit how you feel about it. 4. They only take cash/atm. Its about time, isnt it? 5. Their 'house' beef pastrami is delicious and costs 1/2 what it does anywhere else. 6. You can buy enough chips and salsa for less than $5 to feed 10 people. Awesome. If that isnt compelling enough, I cant help you. If you think the albertson's and safeways are more classy you need to have your head examined. read more

Big Winco fan here! Same as another reviewer said, I always spend less than I expect to every time. This place is the cheapest grocery in town... BETTER than Costco too! My only complaint would be that it's often VERY busy, no matter what time of day or night, but that's to be expected because it's a great place to shop. Great place to buy breakfast cereal too! No one in town beats Winco's prices for large boxes of name-brand cereals... SERIOUSLY! Also an awesome place to buy over-the-counter medicines! Unbelievably cheaper than other stores. Often times you can buy the store generic brand which is so much cheaper than the already discounted name-brand items as well. My wife and I shop here all the time. Our last trip yielded 4 large bags of groceries and 2 gallons of milk for about $20 bucks!!! A couple weeks later, I was in a hurry and stopped in at Albertson's and bought about the same amount of stuff and it cost me nearly $70 bucks! You know those energy shot drinks (like the 5 hour ones)? Well, Winco's brand has the same ingredients and they are about .98 cents rather than $3 bucks! And where else in town can you get jumbo avocados for .78 cents each, where other stores sell them for almost $2 each or more? Nowhere! Winco also has a great produce section and their own bakery with wonderful items galore!!! They also have a beer cooler that is stocked with all kinds of great brands. They also have books, toys, fresh hot pizza, and so much more! Simply awesome grocery store! Sure, you have to wait in long check-out lines and you have to bag your own groceries, but I don't care! The low prices are worth it, and the selection is absolutely HUGE!!!! If you like healthier foods, they do sell a lot of great organic brands too for MUCH LESS than other stores and that includes the awesome brand "Dave's Killer Bread", which is our favorite brand of bread. read more

This place is pretty amazing! I usually come here around 11 pm and although there's NO one there at that hour, they're usually cleaning and the aisles are blocked up, but worth the compromise! They have a huge selection of everything and crazy cheap prices. They have all the fruits, veggies, meats and...baked goods you'd ever need! Winco does have the best prices in town. That's the good. The store is a warehouse type with no real service. You bag your own groceries, take them out to the car yourself. The selection is lacking. They do not have as many choices as other stores. Not much in the way of organic, health foods. The bakery is awful, really. Its just not very tasty. However, I happened to be shopping there so for convenience sake I ordered my Sons birthday cake, big mistake! . I am very sorry I did. As I said the cake was for a boy. I asked for red icing. I arrived to pick up the cake the icing was PINK!!! Not even dark pink. Girlie pink! I complained, naturally. She said they were out of the red,! They were not out of it, she was just too lazy to mix a new batch. Can you believe that? They mixed some red and wrote over the pink. Pink still very visible. It looked sloppy. I said it was unacceptable to me. The bakery manager was very rude. Unbelievable to me, but, she was. I requested a refund, and got it. The customer service at Winco is just not there. They know people will shop there because of the prices. So, they do not need to give good customer service. And, it shows! I Made a mad dash for Fred Meyer Bakery. Where I should have went in the first place. Belinda in the bakery was so awesome! She saved the day. She had RED icing and quickly prepared a cake for my son and even hustled to finish some cupcakes for us. Awesome. :) The ONLY good thing about Winco is the prices. That's it. Nothing else. Whatever you do, don't count on theme to prepare a bakery item for a special occasion. Its just not worth it. The bakery is awful. Go some place else. Go any place else. I had my husband return a lemonade because the seal was open we never opened it so I'm pretty upset because now I feel like I can't shop comfortable I feel like I'm going to have to check everything to make sure someone didn't open it but when he went to return the lemonade that we purchased the lady at the customer service was so rude she gave her back to him when he was talking to her pretty much ignoring him she had a terrible attitude most of the time she just ignored him I don't appreciate this one bit customer service is meant to help customers not make them feel like crap this lady should not be working at customer service she needs to stock shelves instead or Be in the back stocking milk where she won't have to talk with others. read more

This place has cleaned up nicely! I shopped here for several years before moving closer to the Richland location. At the time, the R store was newer, making the K store seem "old." But not any more! From the energy-saving enclosed coolers and freezers with LED lighting to the updated facade and resurfaced parking lot, the place looks great! Winco has great prices, but you're not going to find an abundance of specialty items or organic foods. They are kicking up the class though with an olive bar and a great selection of cheeses (hello dill havarti!). I've heard that Winco is an employee owned company meaning the employee base decides on where the profit goes. So here are some of the things they have done right: Debit card machines, Juanitas Tortilla Chips. It was very frustrating pre-debit card days if you forgot your check book or didn't have cash to rack up the ATM fees. And Juanitas Tortilla Chips, OMG so good! Most grocery stores have them but Winco was first in Kennewick. The lack in amenities, if grocery stores can have them, results in a greater savings on their selections, which seems to be getting better with time. As the company grows and if they work on better selection I could be of a mind to move their rating from 3 to 4. Their cashiers are helpful and polite. They could be better staffed at nights. If you make the midnight dash like I do sometimes you find yourself in a 10 person deep line to check out. read more

Update: With the massive remodel complete Winco has added self-checkout. THANK GOD. This was much needed and now many people can go in and buy a few things. No longer standing in their own personal hell behind someone with two carts full of enough food to get through armageddon. Hugely dislike the remodel, think a lot of brains flew out the window when it came to where to place things. Soda needs to be back near the front of the store, instead of way in the corner. That was either just a stupid decision, or some attempt at trying to get you in the store to buy more, when all you want to do is grab a quick container of pop. After shopping at the Winco, on Clearwater exclusively for a year, I had the most bizarre situation happen. I was there to simply pick up a ham and some cranberry juice, I was putting my two items in my bag, and I was told they needed my card to refund another costumers purchase that had been placed on my card. I thought, that should be simple. I then went back to placing my ham in the bag, it never made it, the ham was suddenly ripped from my hands by a Winco employee, like I was stealing it. After 7 trips to this shady store, I was told by police not to return, this makes it difficult to get my dough. I now have many agonizing hours into this crap. They say that my card would be credited after some investigations that were preformed. I tweeted pics of the employees whom were looking loaded. A great deal of their better workers were well aware of the crap.. still waiting for my cash, they act like I should be grateful they did an investigation. Send me a gift card for a couple bills, and I may buy from there again. I did finally get some money back, but no apology or explanation for the quacky behavior of some employees at this location read more

WinCo while we avoid most of the store your bulk section is wonderful. It's usually stocked with exactly what we need and always tidy. I do wish you would invest in reusable bulk bags. We bring our own but it makes me cringe seeing the rolls and rolls of disposable plastic when people can easily invest in some reusable bulk bags. If you would invest in some better produce that would be nice too. We tend to visit Fred Meyer for our produce because the organic options are slim and to be honest disappointing quality. read more

Love the low prices and the wide variety of items they have at Winco, it can get intensely busy on the weekends and the beginning of the month, the employees are friendly enough, I also recommend trying the pizza deli section which is located in front of the store, the reason why I only give this Winco a 4 out of 5 rating is it's not the safest place to be shopping at late at night, I don't recommend shopping here past 10pm read more

Everybody goes here. Their prices are low. The food is ok. No health food anywhere, but ample parking.

Now I am aware that Winco does not equal glamor. Not even close. But this Winco is pretty amazing. I came from a town with a much smaller Winco so the full service deli and seafood department really blew me away. Plus the frozen foods section is ginormous! This store can get really busy so avoid at peak hours -otherwise you will be playing chicken in the aisles and dodging small children at every turn. The produce is fresh, the prices are low, the bakery sucks, and organics are nonexistent. Still, shopping here saves a lot of money while still getting what I want and need. read more

Good prices, good produce, and BULK items... I miss Winco, there is nothing even comparable here in Texas that I've found.

The prices are cheap, but the produce goes bad if you don't get it home and use it instantly. We have had bags of potatoes from this store go bad the same week we bought them. Really frustrating when you're trying to get a nice meal made before guests show up. We had to resort to instant mash instead of a nice home made version. I've been shopping at Winco before when it was called Waremart. Most of the employees are ok, no one ever care in that store any more. They treat you like merchandise. I was in there and I do not like the cashiers check your purchases through before you can see the price ring up. I just bought bacon. Again the cashier started to run these thing through before we could start watching it being rung up. After I left I started reviewing the tape. One of the bacon's wast three dollars higher then the other one. When we went back the manager I spoke with blamed it solely ON ME. NO apology NO nothing. That's when I said "I want my money back" He did not want to HELP AT ALL. He took the bacon back and immediately threw it away. He tried to make me feel three feet tall because of it. It did not work. I really didn't care what he said. If I over spent my money on a product that I did not see rang up. IT IS NOT MY FAULT. I BLAME IT ON THEIR LACK OF "EMPLOYEE OWNED BUSINESS" attitude. Now not one employee is friendly, especially on today's visit, but is that my fault. Also when we went through produce there was NOTHING stock. What was there was soft and rotting. When we went to load the 10 lb bag of potatoes into the car, the top of the bag ripped. Out went all the potatoes. I am willing to go to a higher priced location to get better service. read more

They may be employee owned, but there is not an employee in the store with the authority to make a decision even when it definitely would have been to the advantage of the store. I just wanted to buy what they had, but because the product was suppose to be a 4 pack and there were only 3 (and they could not find a 4th), they refused to sell me any. Heck, I would have even paid the full price for the 4 and taken just 3, but NO, there was no way they could do that. One good thing they did for me today - I am new to the area and since I was forced to find another grocery store nearby I will save time in the future by going there first. read more

Best place in town for groceries. The bulk bins are awesome, and their bulk spices are amazing and highly underrated...there's even chia seed in the spice shelf, for cheaper than anywhere else! Fresh ground peanut butter for super cheap ($3 a pound, I think) and wildflower honey. The coffee is inexpensive, super tasty, and they have a vast selection. The deli is alright, meat selection is great, and you can find some KILLER deals there- I found 5-8 lb packages of chicken marked down to $1 once- not $1 a pound, $1 a package!! I loaded up my garage freezer, and the freezers of a couple of struggling, and very appreciative friends. Somewhat suspect: a lot of the produce doesn't last long at times. DON'T load up with 1-2 weeks of more delicate produce and expect it to last. (The watercress always always ALWAYS looks like complete shit! Fred Meyer's is gorgeous) That being said, their apples, pears, bananas, citruses, brussell sprouts, etc are usually great. Another suspect item: the milk skeeves me out. Bad. I buy most of my milk at Safeway or Fred Meyer; I suspect that the off-brand Winco crap is riddled with cow pus and antibiotics, because it tastes awful. Foul. The cereal aisle rocks. They have a vast array of ice cream, as another reviewer noted, but the bakery is pretty bad. Bagels mold within a couple days of bringing them home, no matter what unless I put them directly in the freezer. But you can skip the onsite bakery and go directly to the WALL OF BREAD, which has the largest variety of any other store in town. All in all, Winco is great and it's worth fighting the multitude of mommies with gaggles of kiddos hanging from their carts to get what you need. read more
