I like Missoulas WinCo. Solid bulk store, open 24 hrs which is awesome, and they've got nice workers. Checkout is definitely rough, they don't man too many counters and lines pile up real fast. But at least I don't gotta buy a membership at Costco, so they've got my money read more

Prices are mostly ok. They need more goddamn checkers. There was one person in the two lines for self checkout, but to hell with us if you have 16 items. Maybe make one lane 15 and another 25, if you won't put more checkers on. I had to go get in line for the ONE checker in 15 lanes. Bunch of bs. I had to wait ten minutes when I could have been out of there. Again, nobody in the self checkout lanes. Beer is more expensive, Walmart had that beat, but they don't price match. Deli, stood there for a couple minutes while they continued to shave meat for nobody. Didn't even acknowledge me. Clearly, I walked away. Kept another person waiting, also. This place makes me feel like a mid town Walmart. Parking lot is a freaking madhouse every time. I get almost hit either walking, or in my car, every time. read more

Do they even hire? There were at least 30 people waiting to Check out with only 3 cashiers.. self checkout doesn't allow more than 15 items and if you have a turkey.. no go. Ridiculous considering the holidays are right around the corner. read more

Considering this location just opened yesterday, I was a little hesitant to shop here so soon. Businesses tend to be so much busier when they open a new location and items tend to sell out a lot faster until the hype has worn off. Tonight I decided to just go and I am so glad that I did. This is certainly not the first WinCo location I have ever shopped at, so I knew exactly what to expect. I was in no way disappointed. The Missoula location has an almost identical layout to the store in Helena, which made finding my way around a breeze. The shelves were all fully stocked and employees could be seen all over the store straightening shelves and answering customers' questions. What I have always loved about WinCo is their low prices. I want to get as much as I can with my money, and this is the place to do just that. They even beat Wal Mart's prices on many items. They offer a large bulk section where you can find various items like flour, sugar, spices, granola, cereal, and more. I can't stress enough just how reasonable their prices are for items that would cost much more at other local supermarkets. They offer a large deli section in the back of the store as well as fresh made pizza at the front near the cash registers. They have a wide variety of ethnic foods that you can't find anywhere else in town. There really is just too much to even try and mention in this review! I should also make it known that they do not accept credit cards, but do accept debit cards, checks, and cash. I can see why some people may be bothered by this, but I understand the store's reasoning. I always pay with my debit card so this would never be an issue for me personally. Another small downside is that you have to bag your own groceries, which I actually prefer to do even though I know many other people who don't. I suggest bringing your own reusable bags, but they also have paper and plastic bags for you to use. I would rather bag my own groceries any day of the week than to have to pay more somewhere else, and another plus is that they are also open 24 hours! You seriously can't beat that! read more

Their bulk section is really impressive and in my opinion, is the heart of the store. Produce is always fresh and reasonably priced. I don't often shop their seafood but they do have the best bagels in Missoula. Cashiers are friendly and fast but their self check out machines suck. read more

Do not purchase anything out of the scoopable bins or the bins above them!!! Those products do not get rotated out enough and most of it is not supposed to be kept at room temperature for long periods. Multiple items have made several different families very sick. Any of the nuts seem to be the worst! read more

the prices are great, lines are long, the employees, especially all in the bulk area are nice. The store manager lacks customer service skills. I have no met too many people more rude than the winco store manager also the people behind the counter that sell hot food gave a white person numerous extra plates. But when a person of color bought stuff how in the deli part. They would not give them plates. they said you would have to buy it. As a dark skinned mixed race person I had a similar experience at counter and with white manager. read more

We visited the store just to take a look around and get a feel for things. I have shopped at other WinCo foods when I lived elsewhere and didn't mind them. I wasn't caught off guard by the payment options, there is a big sign at the doors that states they don't accept credit cards, only cash, check, debit, and EBT. Also, bagging my own groceries also wasn't a big deal or new to me. If you have ever shopped at a military commissary, you'll be right at home. Now, to the best part. If you are looking for produce, only shop here. We eat a large quantity of fruits and vegetables and were shocked at how low their prices were. 5¢ a pound for Roma tomatoes, 88¢ for avocados, a pineapple for 25¢. The prices are unbeatable. We bought lemons, pineapple, cucumbers, avocados, tomatoes, oranges, apples, and 5 lbs of potatoes for less than the price of the potatoes at Walmart or Albertsons! The prices on other items, such as frozen foods and packaged goods are about the same price or slightly less than other grocery stores in Missoula. For deodorant, detergent, paper products, pet food, etc. you're better off going elsewhere as they are more expensive. The store was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and they disinfected the self checkout cues between customers. read more

I like this store. They have a great selection and the prices are very good. Definitely the best prices in Missoula. and they are open 24 hours. The only grocery store in Missoula right now that is open 24 hours. Too bad it's on the other side of town. They have a pretty large produce selection which I like. They have a good bulk section. And they have random stuff on sale like I got a fruit bars with no added sugar for like $1.19. read more

This is a great place to shop. Everybody is friendly love the meat selection. Every part of the store is clean. except for the bakery section they cannot seem to get that right a lot of pastries, seem under baked donuts, always taste stale. As a grocer - they are not a bad company but their warehouse seems to always be out of common products (distilled water, cold/flu medications, etc.) As an employer - score a negative 1 because they are constantly cutting employee hours, and they say "cross-train" but that doesn't help as they cut your hours in your main department to give you hours in the secondary department. The reason, hours are based on your order, but you cannot order because a number of products are out of stock at the warehouse. read more

Shopped at Missoula WINCO today, 1-8-2023, as I do every week. Thankfully, for the most part I've had a positive experience at this store since it opened. However, today was the exception. Every time I enter the check out line I make a point of gaining the employees name and ask them (by name) "how are you today? I do this because I appreciate the work they do and I tell them so on my way out. I believe this is common among my generation. Today was different. As I entered the line, I noticed the checker's name but, it was an uncommon name and I was unfamiliar with the spelling. I greeted the checker like I've done many times in the past. I said by name, "how is your day today?" In a confrontational tone and so everyone in line could hear, he responded "well I don't know, that's not my name". He's reaction was so unexpected that I immediately apologized for my misstep. Instead of excepting my apology, he looked straight at me and didn't respond at all. I was completely astonished at this point and so I said nothing more, took my groceries and left. While driving home all I could feel was disappointed because I knew this would be a cloud over the rest of my day. I wondered why a person would act this way. Clearly much younger than me, perhaps all he saw was a senior citizen whom he believed was of no consequence. Normally I would let this go but, after reading some of the reviews associated with this store I noticed several others who have had similar experiences regarding employees. So rather than hide behind my review I called the local manager in order to bring this to his attention. While the manager seemed concerned, he refused to provide his name. After explaining my experience, I told him that I would continue to shop there because I have to watch every dime. But, I believed it was his responsibility to ensure his employees appreciate their customers. Therefore, I assured him I would write and honest and thorough review for every time I bring my business to his store from now on. read more

First of all, it is ridiculously large. Not filled with a large variety, just a lot more of the same items found elsewhere. It took forever to navigate through each section. There are employees standing around just watching people. I felt like they thought everyone was trying to shoplift. I finally made it to the checkout, only to find no baggers. Okay, I can manage even though I had a ton of groceries. Then, I go to pay and find out they don't take credit cards. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I informed the cashier I don't have a Debit/ATM card and start unloading my groceries from my personal bags. She says, "Don't do that, just go get some money and come back." Really! And where should I just "go get some money" lady? Should I just quickly make the 180 mile round trip home and back to "get" some money? Let me tell you, the prices are only a few cents cheaper than other stores. I definitely won't be going back! read more
