As in they get into trouble if they allow you to get your extra item or 2. My bad for missing 1 item when I did a quick count. Grief! As to not get the cashier into trouble, I bought my 1 extra item on a separate ticket. NOW FOR THE PETTY PART... Each card transaction costs winco money. Please join me in ALWAYS running your card at least twice if not more when checking out at winco. No one should be getting into trouble because of an extra item or two!! Winco corporate has gone insane!!! They seem to forget that there are many, more pleasant stores to shop at. read more

I like Winco and have had no problems. Until now. My husband has been doing the shopping and I hadn't been to Winco in a few months. In that time I was surprised at how many of the products were now Winco brand rather than name brands. Bulk oatmeal had so much "fines" in it that after sifting with a colander there was about 3 cups of instant oatmeal rather than whole oats. Then looking for 36 oz of Adams peanut butter..no more only Winco brand which is made of hydrogenated oil!! Holy crap that stuff is awful for you!! One tiny jar only all the rest was hydrogenated junk! I prefer name brands as company brands are often inferior of quality and and sure is with Winco products. They do have a good deli and their meat quality is good, especially prices! I will still probably shop here but be looking for better prices on certain items else where! I expect long lines and crowds and try to shop when the crowds are less. read more

Overall, this is a good store. Only real complaints are they never have enough checkers and the produce at times is past its prime. But for staple items and a great bakery its's a good place to shop. read more

I love winco. However what I saw today was a bit disturbing. I saw a stocker who was restocking celery proceed to use his foot to try to push in the box of celery into the shelf. When that did not work her then decided to throw the celery directly onto the ground. I tried calling but no one picked up and it seems this is the case for this winco. read more

I like this Winco. It's always clean and the employees are kind and helpful. I usually don't have to wait to long in line either. The prices here are great and the selection is usually very good. The only down side to Winco (and it's all Wincos, not just this one) is that you have to bag your own groceries so it's hard to watch the register to make sure you are paying what you thought you were for each item. read more

This supermarket is close to my home and I have given it a lot of trade. With any discount business it can be like Wallyworld: I've had two spooky encounters in the parking lot and I don't go after dark. The corporation may be experiencing difficulties---my last visit, two of the self-checkout stations had crashed, and the one I used had a defective touch screen which didn't permit me to check out all my four-digit bulk purchases. Checkers have been civil to me. The bulk foods section is the best in town. A short-order cook I knew preferred their meats, but I haven't purchased any meat from them. Produce is OK except for perishables like lettuce. Use the store for its strong suits, like you would a tool. read more

DO NOT stop here if you are from out of town! I stopped in here at 1130 pm while heading home, I redeemed by bottle drop so I could get some food for the drive. I didn't see the small sign that says you can only use bottle drop before 10 pm. The management was simply the rudest and most unhelpful. We just moved here from Guam and I loved it! So much cheaper items compare to the place we came from. It reminds me of Foodmaxx back in California. They have so much stuff like can foods, snacks, meat and they even have the dispenser area which is super cool! This place is awesome! My family has been buying their groceries from WinCo since I was too young to remember. We usually shop at the one on Lancaster but we decided since we needed to go to Trader Joe's we would try the south Salem store instead. Both of us were less than impressed. The store felt dirtier than the one on Lancaster. Their meats looked rather iffy and the staff were not very helpful at all. We will be sticking with the other WinCo. Can never go wrong with Winco, even if you're a health nut like yours truly. You can find great deals on produce, canned veggies, yogurt and frozen fruit/veggie mixes. He was quite rude to my elderly parents,,, he was short with his answers and kept heavy sighing when my father would ask questions. This is a pretty nice Winco, the outside has a bunch of cute flowers and pots for sale, and the inside is always clean. It seems smaller and less of a selection on certain items, definitely a smaller frozen section. We normally go to the Winco on Lancaster. That location seems like it is always packed and the employees are not as friendly there as they are here. The lady working in the bakery was very helpful, she went in the back and found me the specific bread I needed. Today is the day before the super bowl, I expected it to be very chaotic and busy. Pleasantly surprising...it wasnt, we were in and out pretty quick and the cashier was really friendly. read more

I love this particular Winco compared to the others around the Salem area. It's a clean store and the shelves are always stocked with what I am looking for. Employees are always friendly and helpful. I actually enjoy bagging my own groceries because I can sort my food into frozen, refrigerated, canned, boxed, etc... where as at the other grocery stores I don't have that option. Plus I use the brown grocery sacks afterwards to pitch my recycles in. read more

Starting to prefer this place more than Costco if u plan your meals ahead it's more affordable I've noticed to shop here for the month. Less busier towards middle of the month which means closer parking chances are higher. Keep an eye out on produce sometimes can be past prime. read more
