They have a great selection of typical grocery items. Prices are competitive and affordable. My issue with Winco is i cant go in and out quickly. If i need just a couple items im standing in line with people who have full carts and There is only 1 checker and sometimes the line goes all the way down the aisle nearly to back of store. I spend more time in line than i did grabbing my items i needed its so aggravating to say the least. But the staff is usually very nice and the store is clean and easy to navigate. Aisles are pretty wide and i find what im looking for quickly because of the signs for each aisle. Prior to the announcement at Winco is going to be coming to Yakima, I have to admit that I hadn't ever heard of them. After seeing lines out the door for a number of weeks, I finally had an opportunity to come in and check the place out. Middle of the day on a Sunday afternoon, the place was still pretty packed, though much more doable than previous days when the lines were so long that people were having to wait outside for cards. Such days are behind us, allowing for much more efficient shopping! After coming in the main entrance, you are shepherded around to the right similar to Costco. It basically controls the flow of traffic in and out, though there's not quite as much etiquette as at Costco. Having never been in here, I wasn't sure what to expect. By the time I Was done I came to the conclusion that this was basically the love child between Walmart and old-school Costco (remember before they took credit cards). The selections they have here is pretty fast. My list was relatively short , But overall they seem to have just about any and everything that I would be looking for. The price is higher range from the same as other stores for things like pop and Snack items, down to very inexpensive for things like sliced cheese and milk. The meat selection here was also pretty solid. The slice everything for you at the counter or there are bags of pre-sliced meat if you like your protein vacuum packed. The beer selection here was actually pretty awesome.One and had classics like natural light, Keystone, Busch light and Miller high life while the other and had plenty of craft beers including a number of local options. For a store that deals in bulk like this, I wasn't expecting so many craft options. The reason they keep prices so low are the no-frills aspects, which means they don't take credit cards and there are no incentive programs. End of the day, Dave Ramsey would be proud! For me however, it took a while to remember my pin number as I don't think I've actually used a debit card since about 2004. All in all, this again was like a cross between Walmart and Costco where I had to bring cash. Definitely takes a little bit of getting used to, but if you're interested in saving money, this definitely seems like the place for you! It definitely will not replace our Costco trips, but will probably be somewhere that works its way into the rotation. read more

Do not use self check out with your own bags. I selected own bag started scanning and then had to select own bag again then had to wait for bags to be verified. This place has some good deals but not sure if it because of opening. As I walk through the store. Items are well marked. Didn't really see anything that had a sale price. The isles are wide enough for three carts to pass by a nice plus. The store is open 24 7. Which can be convenient. The store has 16 registers all in operation. Plus 6 self check outs. I gave it a three because if bag issue and they have part of the parking lot road blocked which made it harder to get to more open parking read more

Most ridiculous place ever to shop, never any cashiers and the ones they do have are slower than a turtle stuck in molasses. Worse than Walmart, at least Walmart has more than 3 working self checkouts. read more

Not normally a fan of Winco but I was pleasantly surprised after my visit. The very first thing I noticed was how clean the store was. The Winco in Everett I use to go to was dirty and the associates were never helpful. Ill be honest, I snuck in to get my donut fix haha. The lady standing at the self check out promptly greeted me and asked me if I needed help. I ended up getting my donuts and on the way back up front I ran into a Supervisor who also greeted me and was very friendly. Sprinkled circled donuts for the win ! read more

There's really a lot to take in on a first trip. It's a warehouse feel with a lot of bulk foods. There's bins and bins of spices, candy, dried fruit, nuts, flours, beans, grains, and coffee with dispensers and scales nearby. If you're into meat, it's there. Almost any kind of meat, non exotic of course. Cheeses of all varieties, fruits and vegetables of all shapes and colors. The frozen section is far superior to the area's other markets. Long lanes door to door stack high of frozen goods. We are first timers, upon standing in line for what seemed like forever, my family had the opportunity to bag our goods. This had to be the highlight of the experience with them. They're excited to go back and bag more food. read more

This is a great store. It would be a 5 star operation if they took credit cards. That said, it was nice to break a $100 bill for a $15 order without getting any grief from the cashier. My visit was a scouting mission to see if they carry items I have not been able to find in other Yakima stores - Shasta diet Cream Soda - big score and lightly salted Fritos, another great score. Next time I go, I will walk up and down each aisle to get a feel for brands and items this Winco stocks. I like bagging my own groceries and appreciate the two conveyor belt system so that the person who was just checked out in front of me can finish bagging their order while mine moves along on a separate belt to where I'll bag. read more

Every time we use self check out there is always a problem. If we use our bags or there's it's ridiculous I know how to use self check out I always use it at other store. I bought a fruit tray for almost $9 with not that much fruit. I ate some of it the day I bought it the day after I went to eat the rest and it had mold where the grapes were! How did it mold over night! I do like that they are open 24 hours! It makes it convenient since I'm pregnant and I get cravings random times of the night ha. Also definitely love that they have paper bags I always use those instead! read more

This is my favorite store in Union Gap, Wa. as well as Gricery Outlet and Costco. My boyfriend and I use to go to Tri-Cities to shop at Winco. Prices at Winco are cheap, cashiers are friendly and I love the idea of bagging my own groceries, I am very very mariculture how my groceries are bagged. wonderful deli and bakery. So let's be honest I love the deli sammiches not a chance I won't get one when I'm there. But sadly the chicken gives my family and I food poisoning every time. I understand things happen so I keep giving it a chance but even switching the deli chicken products we always end up sick. Honestly your buffalo chicken and Chinese chicken taste amazing but it's come to the point everytime we say is it worth it as in getting sick. Yes I do this. But it's not I gave another chance a week ago with the plain chicken fingers. 1. Dry asf 2. Got sick. This was split between my husband and myself and that's a few pieces and we got sick. It's not a food intolerance issue. Also the deli salads check before you buy them sometimes they are already going ugly. Again winco has some good deli food but be weary of some. read more

It just opened last Thursday, and I finally got to go. I used to go to the Winco in Everett quite often when I lived over on the rainy side, and the nearest one from here was in Richland. Walking in here for the first time was like going back in time! Great prices on everything right now. The bulk foods section is huge, just like the Everett location. They have a wide variety of bulk coffees and a few 'make-your-own-peanut-butter' machines featuring regular peanuts, cashews and honey-roasted peanuts. The bulk foods section also contained sunflower seeds in the shell, which my mother's parrot loves (and it's so hard to find those around here!) Decent meat, deli and bakery area as well. They have a bunch of deals they display as you walk in the store. I do find the cat/dog food section slightly lacking. There are a few dog treats in the bulk foods area however. Of course you bag your own groceries at check out, like the rest of the Winco's. Many of the prices here are at or below even Walmart. Have fun! read more

Have to bag your own stuff which slows everything down depending on who is in front of you. The checker we got was extremely slow and care free about her job, waited about 20 minutes for just one other person ahead of us. Parking lot was about 1/4 full at the time. Narrow entrance was crowded with people, you know the ones where the world revolves around them. Prices are nothing special, good looking produce, meat selection nothing special but did have some nice lunch sized goodies I might be back for. That is only if I have cash or money in my checking account, they don't take credit. read more

I really like this store, it has more options than the store I've been going to and the products are often great quality. I have only one complaint really. Their ice cream tubs. I don't know if it's this store or the shipping company, but a lot of ice cream that I bought at first was in a broken tub. Ice cream would get on the outside of the tub and make it and my freezer sticky. I don't have that problem anymore because I actively search for unbroken tubs now, but A LOT of them have cracks or even missing bits of plastic, and sometimes I can't get the flavor I want because all the ones that are left are broken. I really hope they figure out whats going on and fix it soon. read more

I am visiting from out of state and came to this store, I accidentally left my wallet in one of the carts. Needless to say, I panicked. If Yelp gave an option I would be rating this winco foods with ZERO stars. This Winco Foods refused to allow my wife (26, white) to purchase alcohol because she was with her sister in law (18, black). Because of their racial differences the cashier made a judgment that they were wrongfully making this purchase. When speaking to the manager Rob, he said that the cashiers have the right to id all parties involved. My wife doing the purchasing solely, there was no other parties involved and her sister in law was under the supervision of my wife. Carding her sister in law, who stated in the store she was not going to be drinking was unnecessary and insulting not to mention embarrassing. This cashier had no right. When a mother of a daughter of the age of three goes in to buy a bottle of wine does the cashier then card the child? Absolutely disgusted by this interaction at winco foods. I haven't been shopping at this Winco until recently and am usually pleased with the selection of groceries available and their pricing is reasonable. We went to this location on 2/8/19 on a Friday evening around 5:00 pm. We realize this is typically a busy time for grocery stores, so knew we'd be waiting a bit in line. Well, we had a snow storm predicted in our area for the past few days so this store was packed, no big surprise really. What was disappointing though was they only had about 3 lanes open. The line of customers wrapped around the aisles. Minimum wage was increased recently, so the powers that be are cutting corners which just goes with the territory. Although I felt that this situation merited that the management should have planned for back up cashiers. This whole region has been warned of a winter storm on the horizon, so Winco staff should have been aware that they were going to be super busy. After a 45 min wait in line we finally got to the cashier. Her name is Stephanie G. "Lead Cashier." She apologized for the wait and was in good spirits, so kudos to her. read more

I really like this store. The prices are great and the location is perfect, being right across from Costco they fit nicely into my weekly shopping routine. The produce is especially good and beats even the sale prices at other stores. Just beware they don't accept credit cards and you have to bag your own groceries. read more
