Too many wrong posted prices. Prices ring up higher than the posted price.Then they won't honor the posted price stating it's not the correct price. Most of the shopping carts are in very bad condition. Plus the prices are higher than Winco and Walmart on most items. Not a bargain market anymore. read more

Like the vast majority of people on Earth, were always lookin for a good deal. This obviously translates to he grocery store and past places have very successfully steered my spending based on deals or promises of rewards. No longer do I have to search high and low for deals on whatever I'm looking for! Grocery outlet is a spot I've known of for some time but really never had the guts to go in. We had a similar spot in Iowa that operated by purchasing nearly expired food or food that had come from delivery trucks that had gotten in wrecks- We certainly had no problem paying half price for a box of cereal that had a rip on the front, but purchasing meat that was supposed to be sold two days ago was never really a thing. I made the incorrect assumption that this place operated on the same set of rules. After finding out that they are simply looking at giving people the deals...sign me up! The place is a small to medium size grocery store that has plenty of different things, most of which are marked down pretty significantly from what you purchase at traditional stores. They display the normal store price and then their price for each item. While I'm not totally convinced that the "normal price" is correct outside of somewhere like LA, The discount price is certainly are lower than normal. The vast majority of the items here are things that you've seen at some point in a traditional grocery store and don't see anymore, or are in relatively short supply - example - not a to of cereal options, but really who needs more than a few when you're looking for a deal! There were large sections of frozen goods as well as a fairly small meat section. I must call your attention to the back right corner where the clearance shelf resides. This is truly the place that items go to die. That said, such items are often heavily discounted! We found a delightful costume for a car that included only one of the two antennae, it was markdown for a dollar. An American flag on the front grill is definitely worth a dollar! The beer and wine selection here was actually much more impressive than I was expecting. It takes up the majority of the front wall and the selection of microbrews that they have from around the Northwest is actually pretty impressive. The rivals a lot of other stores in the area. The wine selection as well is pretty impressive. Not a place you're going to find a ton of high-end stuff, but if you're looking for stuff it's a little bit cheaper than normal a couple of different options, this is not a bad place to look. On the way out, you can leave your receipt and if your name is chosen, it will give you a gift card for the amount that was saved the day. I spent something like $7 and saved $18 on the whole purchase- receipt placed in bin! This is not a place you take somebody to impress them, unless they were impressed by the amount saved on your grocery bill... Actually, I would be impressed by that - you can take me here! Good place to do some, but not all, of your shopping and where you will likely save a lot of money versus other stores. read more

Cutting food down by Pennie's is a joke cutting expiring or close to it, food should be a minimum of 40% that's a bargain.

This store is strange Very crowded shelving and iles. Employees seem Rude/Depressed/over it. Overall Store seems poorly maintained, floors carts,lighting, paintwork ect.. Prices not as good as other bargain markets. I also witnessed an argument between a supervisor and employee in full view of customers. Just a poor shopping experience in all categories. read more

I go here over Safeway 10/10 times. Easy place to shop always in and out. Good selection for size of store. Ample parking.

This place used to be great but the new owners are greedy and the prices are way too high! All of their merchandise is old and almost expired that's why it is send to them. They claim that everything is 40 to 60 % off the original price but really everything is the same price it is at the regular grocery store. You might occasionally find a good deal but 9 out of 10 times it's already expired goods. If I'm gonna pay full price I might as well go to the store where things are fresh and new, why pay so much for near ruined products. I love grocery outlet. They're great for gourmet goodies that are generally expensive elsewhere. They've got the best price on the staples too, though I prefer produce from Fiesta Foods. Grocery Outlets is usually a good buy for cheese, cured meats, wine, imported chocolates and cookies, tofu, and commonly used Western herbs and spices. They're a good place to stock up on canned and dried beans too. Keep an eye out for deals on Bossa Nova juices. They're 2.89 a piece at Rosauers but they're only 99 cents at GO. At GO, keep in mind that if they've got something that you like, you had better get a good amount, because the next week it may not be there. They sell grocery overstock so what they've got week to week is a bit of a surprise. Around Christmas time they're a good place to look for gifts (they get in a lot of perfume/cologne sets and decent toys). I wouldn't recommend buying fresh meat. milk, eggs, produce, or betty baker brand pasta at GO. The milk and meat are fine but always cheaper somewhere else on a given week. Their eggs are cheap but a bit old as the yolks tend to be runny when you break them and a pale yellow rather than a gold to orange color. Buying produce is hit and miss. I don't say that one should never buy produce here, but inspect carefully. Betty baker brand pasta is not that great. There's always something off about it. Other than that , GO is terrific. Do look for Sabra brand hummuses, canned dolmas, the fresh pastas, prosciutto, and acai berry juice. The staff in the Yakima branch are also very friendly. read more

They have wide selection of cheeeses and if you are very thorough in checking you will find a very good one with a reasonable price. They have cheap and wide selections of cadies, cookies, bread and chocolates as well as wines. The meat (hamburger, steak, pork, chicken) are almost the same price with Winco and Walmart if not higher and so as the deli meats, there are some that are higher and some are not. I always like shopping at the Grocery Outlets - one can get many things at highly reduced prices, and sometimes they are unusual items not readily found elsewhere. Of course, they don't have everything. They deal in over-runs and surplus items, though they try to keep a reasonable selection of produce, cheese, lunchmeats, frozen and canned foods, etc. stocked. If you like something and its a bargain, then stock up on it - it may not be there next time you come. Good selection of organics and gluten-free foods. Dairy products were a little sparse when I went in, but then that varies from month to month. It does seem like the Outlets are selling more Kraft shredded stuff and fewer types of tasty imports from Germany, etc... And good yogurt comes and goes. I was able to stock up on some of the excellent Australian yogurt - I'd have a tub of it now, but I'm about to go out and eat a big meal! read more

I don't shop it as frequently as i used to. I have found the prices are on par with most grocery stores. The really good deals are almost nonexistent. Unless the item is about to expire. Customer service isn't the best either. Most stuff is well marked. But occasionally you find an item that isn't. The people working the floor don't have away to price check. They either take it to the back or have you go upfront to checkout. read more

My whole family loves this store, there are great deals throughout the store, and zany products, that you just don't find at any big name store. I particularly like their wines and cheeses as well as their eclectic variety of items that you would be able to find locally. Every trip to the Y.G.O we try to get something funny or risky or something memorable If you shop the Y. G.O you need to pay close attention to the pull dates, often items on the shelf have only a few days left or are past pull date but have been frozen. I try to stay away from the ice cream, because I have been burned by freezer burn more than once, but again excellent variety and maybe a chance to try something different and new. The owner Dennis is very knowledgeable of the things they carry, and is a good resource on wines, he tends to prefer reds and will steer you towards a cab blend. But I have never bought a wine he suggested and regretted it . When you shop at Y.G.O and find something special BUY IN BULK chances are it wont last and it may not be available ever again. The wasabi seaweed was the best I have ever had and it was 4 for a dollar, we bought 12 packs and should have bought every pack on the shelf but c'est la vie, next week we may find dehydrated prawns we won't be able to say no to read more

I've been going to this store for a long time, since they first opened in the old "Ranch-Rite" building. They used to have excellent deals. Not so much any more at all. If you're careful you can occasionally get a deal, but it's not worth traveling very far to get it. The reason I'm posting this review is that I got a gift card for Christmas and when I tried to use it, the checker lady gave me a hard time about it, kept asking me how much was left on the card. I have been buying wine at this store for 3 years now. In short....FORGET buying drinkable red wine there. I cannot tell you how many times I've been "burned!" My last three (3) purchases (on may 20, 2012) included: 1.) a 2008 Malbec, Ventisquero Reserva (Argentina) - the "nose" had the smell of a yeast. A very tart taste, weak/very little body, extremely mild - not like any halfway decent malbec that I've ever had. Four people tried it and gave it a score of 3/10. DO NOT BUY! 2.) Chateauneuf-du-Pape?Grande Reserve, 2005 red blend, from Louis Bernard - a red Rhone wine. The nose had a cherry scent; the taste was slightly tannic at the finish; very bland with a noticeable chemical aftertaste! And NOT a pleasant taste at that. Four people tried this blend and gave it a score of 3-4/10. SAVE YOUR MONEY! 3.) So...I tried a white wine...a Sauvignon Blanc, 2009 from Larry Cherubino (Western Australia). The nose....nada! The taste was very tart and had a marketdly acidic taste. Almost no flavour. My four guests gave it a 2/10. FORGET IT! -If you are "compelled" to buy wine there...you will not find much potable red wine. And if you buy white - you have a better chance of finding something drinkable. But buy NOTHING older than 4 years, or else you will be sadly disappointed. -I keep a diary of all the wine that I have purchased there....and have now learned my lesson. I love grocery outlet but I had the worst customer service encounter this morning. As I was checking out I said hello to the cashier, she said nothing. I thought maybe she didn't hear me I then asked her if the chip works on the pin pad and she again said nothing. I asked her again a little louder and she said, "did you not see my head moving up and down meaning yes?" I was appalled! I then asked her why she didn't say anything and she said she had a mint in her mouth. She was so rude! You don't treat customers the way I was treated this morning!
