The seafood and deli area stepped up their game on presentment, and the dairy aisles are clean too. It is very noticeable and show deep gratitude for this attention. Extremely poor customer service due to every register having bublicious gum sku 733900557 priced incorrectly at .19 while ringing up at .78. The cashier was polite and explained she wasn't allowed to make any price adjustments. She then made a notation of the price discrepancy on the receipt and said customer service should be able to take care of us. Customer service was very unprofessional making us wait for about 15 minutes so they could check the price then see what the person in charge of variety could do due to the price being incorrect. While we waited they removed all the tags from the register and said they could price change 1 or 5 of the 16 bubblegum packs I impulse purchased at the register due to that particular gum being my kids favorite bubblegum. I declined the offer and requested a refund. While we were waiting for an overide to receive our refund we stepped aside out of our own will to allow the next customer to be rang up since a line was forming. This is when the customer service associate allowed a customer who was last in line to cut infront of the next customer in line. We spoke up but unfortunately that customer still received priority service. Coming from someone who has over 20 years of previous retail management experience this was an absolute trainwreck since we received attitude from the customer service associate while wasting 15 minutes of our time to be refunded our money while witnessing very poor customer service to another customer. Winco is pretty much my "go to" place. The produce is excellent. Great selection, fresh, nicely trimmed & displayed. The bulk products are wonderful. Quality and selection is very good and priced can't be beat. People are very helpful...love the deli, fish market. Meat is lovely. Nice selection in dairy. HOWEVER chronic problem with one product in egg section ~ very short shelf life, if not expired. Today I shopped for the Omelets in a cup. Poor selection, only two varieties out of four or five offered elsewhere. Some dated Dec.20, others Jan 20- both out of date! There was one variety Feb. 20, not awfully fresh. I do hate having to use a plastic bag to grab this stuff though....need to remember to re-use some plastic bags for next time. What else? Oh yeah! Bagels!! maybe they're not the best New York style bagels, but I freakin' love these bagels. They have a monster variety....I like the Jalepeno, everything, and blueberry bagels! I appreciate Winco because during the CoVid-19 crisis, they closed at night not only to super clean daily, but to open more checkout aisles during the day. I didn't notice the time and was late for my babies appointment. I turned to a lady and asked if she can save my basket until I return. I didn't get her name but she was so kind about it and she said she would store my basket into the fridge for me and directed me to go to customer service when I come back. When I came back, Darlene was at the customer service and she was super sweet and instantly called to check if my basket was in the fridge for me and as I was waiting, Joanna was busy with her job but still turned and acknowledged me to let me know my basket will be out shortly. Kind and sweet gestures, go a long way. Same store, Same address, but Horrible Experience! Not just at this one, but at the Kennewick store as well! They violated my civil ADA rights in Kennewick recently concerning my Service Dog. I'm not happy, and I'm going to put my big mouth to good use! The Richland WinCo store treated customers horribly and when I got all the way up to the check out they took some of my items I had come there to buy after I made a phone call previous to showing up asking how many 25 pound bags of sugar there was and toilet paper, etc and told manager is be in from west rich and, about a 25 min drive, to get those and more. And I left home and went there. I don't think I would have driven in there for one bag of sugar. And no toilet paper. And no signs where the buckets and sugar we're, limiting number per customer. So very bad business practice and then their choice of method of delivery, yell and give me shit bitchy and he was a real ass too. Yelled at me a d said if I didn't like it I could just get out. I said, "Nobody Talks to ME that way, not even my man, and I'm not fuc**** you! Don't tell at me you'll never get me to do a damn thing ordering me around like that and I stood there. Would you believe I was out at my car not saying a word, minding my own business and the Richland Police Department shows up. It use to be a pleasure to shop at Winco, but then from going of to the worse shopping. The items that I shopped for are no longer carried by you, plus the meat has gotten worse and with higher prices. I know that I am just one but I will not recommend anyone to shop there any more. You are probably the same idiots with 271 items in your cart at the 15 or less self check. I am glad the Kennewick store more closely monitors that line and stops people from using it. I remember when I first moved to Kennewick from Seattle 6 years ago thinking I landed in "Grocery Store Save Me Money Heaven". After spending too much at grocery stores in Seattle it was so nice to save some serious dough here. I remember when they would only take check or cash...not even debit card. There was a big sign that said, "We don't take debit cards to save you money!" YES! LOVE IT! They finally did start taking debit cards, but I got the feeling they got a good rate from a bank to do so...again, to save us money. I also like that you bag the groceries yourself (to save us money) and the checkout line almost checks out two people at once (to save us money). We are talking serious money too. I once ran a little test where I bought some of the same items at two different stores: Albertson's and Winco. I saved some 30%. None of that coupon stuff either. We are talking hundreds if not thousands of dollars per year. Also, ever notice how much easier it is to return a cart at Winco? They have cart returns everywhere...and you can't even mess it up. The cart only goes in one way. No more idiots leaving their cart to sit in the bushes somewhere. Again, this saves us money. So the store must be a dump, right? Wrong. Clean, friendly big aisles (unlike aisles at Clearwater WinCo in Kennewick), good produce (and it is all at a price less than their competitors (even Walmart I have found). Ok ok ok -- I've long joked with friends that we need to make a "People of Winco" website ala the "People of Wal Mart." These jokes were all the result of brief encounters with Winco but no real shopping. Recently though, my partner and I decided we give it a whirl after another curious friend made a trip and returned with a lot of great deals. If you don't like bagging your groceries this place isn't for you. If you can't pay with cash or a debit card, you won't be able to shop here. Otherwise, they have some amazing deals and their collection of bulk things in bins (nuts, crackers, dog treats?!, flour, everything) is impressive. I also found that their produce was almost in-line with Yoke's but considerably cheaper. And unlike WalMart... it really isn't over crowded. Give Winco a try! read more

After moving to the Tri-Cities my coworkers introduced me to WinCo as the best place to do my grocery shopping. The Richland WinCo is large and had everything I needed for reasonable prices. I have shopped elsewhere and I have found Winco has the freshest vegetables and fruits in the Tri-Cities. I was a big fan of their prepared foods such as salads, sandwiches, pastas, wraps, etc, which were great for lunch at work. Sunday is prime-time at WinCo so go during the week if you want to avoid the crowds. Also, as most everyone else has stated they don't accept credit cards, so cash, check, and debit only. This kid answer the phone by his name, it was not Leonardo's of WinCo in Richland or anything like that. he was hesitant and rude I was afraid to order food from him thinking he was going to spit on my sandwich. the most unprofessional by any means of standards for anyone who runs a business that place is completely worthless but if it was run right the best sandwiches anywhere! I went to the Richland store to specifically buy a few items. Java Monster mean beans drinks, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapeño peppers and salsa spice packs. Cilantro is gone...looked like a brush hog came through. I asked an employee if there was any more in the back. She went and got some, other than the 10 minute delay, problem solved. I went to get the salsa spice packs....nowhere to be found. Went to get an employee....again. She came to rhe same rack I was looking at and said "hmmm... we must not be carrying them right now".... What???!! Really???!!. Moving on.... I went to get the Java Monsters.... not only can I not find any in stock, it appears they may not even be carrying them. Sine I regularly buy these at other stores and it is not uncommon to find them low in stock or sold out, I will assume they are good selling items. Seems to me they would be worth stocking. All this and they want you to bag your groceries. Never returning to this store. They need a lot of work. At this point I am out... never returning. read more

I had not experienced Winco until I moved to Richland from Bellingham. I thought would just be like another Wal-Mart. Boy was I wrong! Winco is great and one of the most affordable grocery stores I have ever been to! I think it's kind of fun bagging your own groceries too. This review is specifically one for the cashier I had last night, named Kurtis. After finishing my shopping at about 7:00 last night, I encountered long lines at the check out counters as sometimes happens at WinCo. When it was my turn to check out, (and even with the person before me and after me) Kurtis was extremely friendly and inputted his own knowledge to inform us about refilling spices with the bulk section to save the containers that we all pay for, thereby saving us money the next time. He made conversation but didn't slow down his pace; which after all of my produce and bulk items I could clearly tell he's memorized multiple codes! He was also very patient and kind when I accidentally locked up his system and we all had to wait for a manager to come fix his register. He could have displayed frustration or anxiety because he had such a long line due to understaffing, but he didn't. He was calm and told me not to worry about my mistake. People like Kurtis make standing in a long line not so frustrating. He makes the environment more pleasant and I hope you keep people like Kurtis working for you. read more
