I am spending my last morning at what I have found to be the most excellent place I have lived in the previous thirty-five years. This is after working for a company that has placed my wife and me in over twenty-two different locations. In the last three years, while living here, we have truly discovered how little we need to be happy. The pursuit that we had been chasing for many years--having a big house, a pool, and acceptance from neighbors--was proven to be not worth it. Although we acquired that big house, we found ourselves only using three rooms, and most people were busy with their own lives, not having time to come to our home. We moved here temporarily while exploring our options, yet quickly came to understand just how fulfilled we are being around some of the most honest, caring, non-judgmental, and hardworking families that make our community and country great. Tonya and I keep to ourselves, but many people here have no idea of the impact they've had on our lives with just an honest hello or how are you doing. This is a community that reflects what is missing in America: putting down the phone and appreciating what nature, our families, and those around us offer. I cannot express enough how much Mr. Johnny and Mrs. Patty mean to my wife and me. We have never been close to any immediate family, yet the care and compassion they have always shown us remind us that genuine care for one another can create family bonds. While I will genuinely miss the opportunities to see a great group of friends fishing, laughing, and cooking beneath a beautiful setting sun, along with peaceful evenings spent outside watching the fish and assorted wildlife on the pond, I am grateful to have discovered once again how this community has blessed us as we embark on our next journey. We have always taken the opportunity to move quickly without looking back at where we lived, yet this place will forever be in our hearts and minds. read more

The people who own this place are big sticklers to all their rules; about the smallest things. I came to visit my family there and the posted speed limit was 5 mph; I looked down to check my speed and was doing 6-7. They have now gone to my family's camper twice about how much I've have sped in and out. It's a great campground except for the rule regulators they can make it ridiculous. They even won't let you have your stuff UNDER your camper such as gear and extra gas. It seems that once they have you identified they won't let up on you. They also want you to pay as a guest visiting to go in the pool. My family are full time RV'ers and are almost at their wits end with the grumpy individual who walks around as the enforcer read more

This place operates as a live in, monthly trailer park with a few spaces for nightly rentals like an RV park. The gravel roads are well maintained, and for the most part, the sites are pretty neat. There are some rvs with junk about them and lots of vehicles, but those are in heavily lived in areas. There appears to be some discrepancy in "delux" and "premium". Their site says one thing, their literature, another. The staff isnt sure. The pool looked very nice. Sparkling clean, well kept. And a splash pad for the kids. The literature mentions a "game room", but we have not investigated it yet. We will amend the review if that changes. There is a nice, clean little store at the office. Snacks, tourist type gifts, a couple of rv items. That's handy. There is a lovely 5 acre pond for catch and releasing. One concern, the drunken muhothers stumling about the roads, dragging babies, yelling at cars. This place would be a nightmare for any CPS worker that actually gave a damn. A lot of pull through sites, but most occupied long term. Benches and either firepits or small grills available. 50/30 amp hookups, sewer, water. However, no cable hookups, behind the times on that one. No wi-fi and cell serbice is slow in the area. Keep that in mind for conducting business on the road. However, the bench under the tree is a great place to take your business calls in the mornings. read more

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. The grounds are very well taken care of and clean, plus the views are beautiful. What was the biggest standout to me was the excellent customer service that we received. There was a small mixup when we arrived and the staff took care of it extremely quickly (the lady who was at the front is an absolute sweetheart) in a way that far exceeded my customer service expectations. Staff members also periodically checked in on us throughout our stay and were very warm and friendly. We will definitely be back for another weekend getaway. read more

Our hose sold faster than we anticipated so we were forced to the camper. Pre-July 4th weekend I called for a long term spot, they asked if they could call me back because they wanted to see what they could do. Long review short, they called back in less than an hour and got us in, were extremely nice and we haven't had a single problem. Restrooms are clean (for public rooms) with showers, pool area is clean and well maintained. They have a huge pond although due to me being the best fisherman in 52 of our 56 States, I'm not convinced it has fish (I didn't catch any)... read more

Will not be back. Needs maintenance, Our circuit breaker was not screwed down, safety issue, we had to be careful every time we reset it. Roads are tight and have pot holes, trees need trimming, sites and roads need gravel. Fire ants everywhere so watch out for the children and dogs. Wifi is ok at best. Bathrooms are dated and need remodeling but function. Pools on the small side, but ok. read more

We rented a cabin there for a week in the middle of July. Hot Hot Hot weather! Great facilities. Super Clean restrooms/showers. Plenty of things for the kids to do. Pool hours were extremely accommodating, early morning and into the evening. Lots of folks live there year-round. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back, just not in the middle of summer. read more

We planned to only stay here one night, but we ended up staying 3. This is a wonderful campground! Large level lots, friendly neighbors and staff. Though we had rented an RV site, I ended up walking around their pond and cabins, and it was lovely and peaceful! Grounds were very nice, clean bathrooms, nice pool. I am only giving three stars because I reserved my Cabin 4 weeks in advance, when I got there they had switch my cabin reservation to a different cabin in a less desireable location. I showed them my reservation that I had PAID in full for and they shook it off and said this happens we have someone else checking in to that cabin. The over all stay was okay. Cabins are very small. Tight for 2 adults and 2 children. They state the grounds have "quiet time" between the hours of 10pm and 7am but no one is around to enforce those "quiet times". My cabin was located across from the park and basketball courts. We had to listen to kids playng basketball until 2am. They have a snow cone shack but the girls who ran it cared more about laying out by the pool then serving snow cones. Needless to say I will not be visiting Dallas Northeast RV park again anytime soon. read more

Overpriced; Limited office hours, use of gameroom and tv room; inadequate laundry; floods when it rains; narrow gravel roads and campsites; unauthorized charges on credit card! Lots of rules; no customer service. Not many rv parks in the area, or they would not be in business. read more

We've never stayed at the campground so I can't comment about that. We did rent out the recreation hall for my daughters birthday party. I have had other parties there when it was owned by the KOA with no problems. So, I went to look at the place about a week and a half ahead to visualize where I wanted everything to go. I went in and everything was dirty, the ceiling was lower than before and made the place look really bad, it just looked different and when I asked they said some changes were made (not for the better in my opinion). I realized right away that this place was not going to work for what I needed. I tried cancelling the next day as their website said you only needed to call 3 days ahead. I wasn't rude and only told them it wouldn't work for what I wanted. They said the cancellation policy was 2 weeks for the hall. I was NEVER given any paperwork and the website did not say this, but they refused to refund my money. We ended up just not showing up that day because there was no way this place would have worked. I was out $175.00 and these people had no reason not to refund my money. read more
