Fast forward 15 years, and one of the latches on the double door broke. Contacted The Door Centre and spoke with Rick. He got me a replacement part quickly and gave it free of charge. It's not the "free" that impressed me, it's the authentic appreciation for their clients!

They were glad to take my money, however the post sales experience was terrible. 2 major problems. First, upon door order I was quoted a 2 week delivery time however doors did not arrive until 5 weeks. No real responsibility taken other then to pass the blame to the door manufacture. Secondly, when the doors arrived, the frame they supplied did not fit into my roughed in opening. The frame width was 58.25 inches however they told me upfront to rough in a 58 inch opening as I ordered 2 26 inch French doors. This wouldn't have been a big deal if the doors had arrived on time as I was still at the framing stage however since they were 3 weeks late I had already finished the drywall, mudding and painting as I could not hold up the project for the late doors. When I called them to discuss it, Rick ( I think that was his name) took zero responsibility for the problem and essentially told me 'tough luck'. When I pushed it further and told him that I had built the framing to EXACTLY their dimensions, Rick told me it was my fault for not giving extra space and that if I wanted to avoid this problem I should have hired a contractor to do the work. I suggested to him that he send someone down to fix up the problem but he would not do that and said he would not spend any money to fix this problem. When I suggested he take the doors back and order smaller doors that would fit he said he would not do that because he would be stuck with the doors and out of pocket. The call ended with me telling him that I was going to post my experience to the internet so all could read it and he then threatened to sue me if I did. I would not suggest doing business with this company. I had planned to buy and have them install a very nice extra wide front doorway and glass in the spring (probably $6K) but obviously that wont happen now. In retrospect I assume that they probably didn't account for the 1/2 inch wooden divider between the 2 french doors (not sure what its called) when they gave me the sizes to frame in. Sounds like something pretty straight forward for someone in the door and window industry. To fix my problem I needed to rip the drywall down and cut out the stud on the one side of the doorway and move it over, re-drywall, remud and repaint. Ugh.

The project, originally targeted for completion in late September, extended for several months with shifting schedules and inconsistent communication. A critical design issue emerged. The cabinet line was recommended, specified, and ordered by their in-house team (for which additional design fees were paid), yet the final layout did not properly accommodate the appliances we had already purchased. This required additional expense and changes to the approved plan. At termination, deficiencies remained unresolved. We retained another contractor to complete and correct the work. For an engagement at this price point, the level of coordination and accountability did not meet expectations. Future clients should ensure design responsibility and execution standards are clearly defined before proceeding.

My experience with Bath Fitters started off great, but ended up leaving a bad taste in my mouth…read more Tyler came out to replace the drain cover and a cartridge in the shower handle. I showed him where the water shutoff was, and he seemed hesitant on how to do it. Very quickly finished the job, then went back downstairs to turn the water back on. He then left after exchanging a few pleasantries. A few hours later, my husband went downstairs to put something away, and discovered the carpet was soaking wet and the water shutoff leaking like crazy. When I called Bath Fitters, the manager was out of the office, so I left a message. When we talked a couple of days later, he said that Tyler told him that I had shut the water off (not true). Then he claimed that the water had been leaking before he had even shut it off. The manager (John) said that he believed his employee and wasn't going to do anything to help defray the costs involved from fixing his employee's mistake. Costs included a hotel room for the night (as the water was shut off for 24 hours), city charges for shutting off the water outside, plumber fixing Tyler's mistake, and added cost to water bill for the water that leaked. Not to mention the inconvenience of the whole situation. Thanks for reading! I hope this helps others.

This review is base on my experience with Skyway Electronic Services in 2018…read more They had my power amp for 4 months in the summer (June-Sept) and another 3 months in the fall (October - December). They were supposed to repair a 60 Hz hum in one of the two channels and the protection LEDs. They did repair the protection LEDs during the first visit in the summer for $120.00. They never did repair the hum issue, however, after Chris indicated he had resoldered bad connections to resolve the hum issue. Wrong! The second time the amp went in for the same repair, Chris first told me they were waiting on parts on at least four occasions. Two months later implied that the amp didn't need any parts. (There are NO new parts in the amp.) Chris told me he sent the amp out to be scoped and there was no fault found? Wrong again! The hum still persists. I doubt they did an actual sound tested of the amplifier because if they did, they would have heard the hum. I feel that Chris lied to me several times during our phone conversations, further, they delayed the return of the amp twice for unknown reasons (at least unknown to me as there are no new parts installed). If your equipment is important to you, go out of Niagara for repairs. Skyway Service is the second incompetent service centre I tried in St. Catharines. I find it troubling that a person can masquerade as being genuine, and yet be so completely dishonest. I'll never trust them again. Philips 1200B
