My 20+ year old blinds needed to be rehung, and one needed a repair. I love these blinds for several reasons and I don't think I could find any like them anymore. In addition, the cost of replacing all four because of one broken one would have been too high, and wasteful for the environment when they were all essentially good! I called several blind companies and was dismayed to find that not one would come out and take care of my blinds because they all said they only help people that originally purchased their blinds from them. Well, not Window World on Hart Street, phone 808-834-1114! (Make sure it's this company; there are a couple with similar names.) They were amazing. They responded immediately that they could take care of me, that it sounded like a simple job, and they scheduled me for service! Wayne and Garrett came to the house and knew exactly what needed to be done. They were professional, friendly, careful with moving the blinds around in my newly painted rooms, and fixed and remounted my blinds perfectly. They even sprayed the brackets and roller with silicon to keep the roller moving well. I'm so happy with their work, and so grateful for small companies like them that will help regardless of the original purchase location. After reading the reviews about Window World, I gave them a call for a vertical blinds estimate throughout my whole house. A salesman came (won't mention his name), took measurements and said he would drop off samples and provide an estimate the next day. It's been over 2 weeks and still no samples or estimate! I called and sent a text to my salesman last week, asking about the status of the samples and estimate. He texted back that he "totally forgot and will drop off the samples within the hour". Guess what? I'm still waiting! That's a long hour!!! I really wanted to like, and possibly use this company, but based on the customer service experience that I received (or didn't receive) from their salesperson, I don't know if I could actually trust them to follow-up if something went wrong or if service was needed for any of their products in the future. I don't think so, and that's what makes this review so disappointing. I ended up going with another company. read more

Poor service! I scheduled an appointment to have my blinds checked. They charge $95 service call and give you a two hour window for arrival. They scheduled on a Saturday between 1-3. I drove to my rental unit and arrived at 12:30. I tried calling a couple times only to find that the office is closed on Saturday and there's no way to reach anyone. So I sat and waited until 4 o'clock, and no one showed up. As I locked up and left the unit and was driving home I receive a call at 4:19 PM from Dominic saying he needed to reschedule. There's no way for me to reach them and they don't even have the courtesy to call to let you know they are running behind. The office called on Monday morning to Reschedule the appointment I asked if they could waive the service fee because of the inconvenience and they said they could not. So their time is valuable but ours is not? They expect us to sit around and wait and think nothing of not showing up? read more

We ordered black out drapes and the work was done locally, quickly and for a reasonable price. There were some minor corrections and adjustments that needed to be made after installation, however the company was easy to work with. I had a specialty project I had asked if they could perform with some material I had purchased. The salesperson said they would give me a quote on the project but I had to give them the material first. I gave them suggestions on how others have done it before. A few weeks went by. I got an email stating they couldn't perform the project because their equipment couldn't handle the material. They said I should come pick it back up. Upon receiving it I noticed the material was altered and cut. This is not come cheap material. It was $700 worth of it. When I called to complain they said the sales person is no longer there and no one would take responsibility. Meanwhile I ended up ordering the heavier duty roller (which I provided the info for) and completed the project myself. Problem is they cut the material too short. I would not trust these guys if they can't own up to the mistakes they made. You're better off finding a more reputable company. Sorry, if I could give zero stars I would. read more

We started out shaky with issues regarding scheduling, but once that was resolved, I had 2 teams of very professional men over to (1st) reprogramed my living room and dining room automatic window shades and (2nd) restrung the shades in my son's room, after measurements were taken from the 1st group of men. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!! DON'T WALK AWAY, RUN AWAY WHILE YOUR WALLET STILL HAS CASH!! When scheduling a consult, ordering or installation they are prompt and friendly. When you call to discuss a problem they always give the excuse they need to talk with the manufacturer. This seems to take at least a month before I lose patience and I have to call back to remind them I'm still waiting. I ordered Norman Motorized Shutters paying an extra $5,000 for motorized feature. They assured me they have installed these in many hotels and never had issues. Unfortunately the motors do not work having Window World repeatedly replace back up batteries for Solar generated power and neither seem to work. The last time they came to my home to replace batteries the motorized shutters failed to work by the next morning. I asked for my money back and that's when they stopped all communication with me. I sent a note to Norman Shutters and they immediately bounced my request for motor information to Window World. No accountability from manufacturer or Window World. I gave them one star because the install of the shutters was nicely done. Unfortunately it's a faulty product with no way of returning the non-functioning Norman Motorized Shutters. I called and they answered right away. I spoke with their sales person Jennifer Brian. She was very friendly and helpful. O sent her pictures & dimensions. She gave us a quote & drove up from Honolulu to our office in Haleiwa North Shore. Showed us samples of the roller shade material. Then their installer came up to verify field measurements. unfortunately this was right before Christmas & New Years and they were busy. But finally got the roller shade installed in our office. Their installer came in, installed the roller shade, and got a great working roller shade for a large window on an angled wall. Be aware! I had Window World came in to my apt to install solar shades for three rooms. I've spend a couple of thousand dollar for it (shades w/ one motor (each motor alone costs $800) and installation. The quality of installation and the shades was very poor! The shades were not been cut straight. It looks poor quality which is quite different than what I saw in their showroom. On top of that, my sofa was full of dust and wall got dirty and has cracks on it after they finished the job! So, I called Window World to make a complaint, and they said they will get back to me. It's been weeks not only I haven't heard from them, but I saw an additional unauthorized $1000 charge by WW on my credit card bill!! Therefore, I called them again. The said that the one thousand dollars was for the second motor which they decided to charge me after the installation because it needed two motors. It took two motor to run one shade?! What kind of trick is this?! Again, they said they will get back to me! Is it even illegal to charge customer without any kind of notice??? They just decided to take my credit card info and charged it again! I am thinking if I should report them to Better Business Bureau. Having done numerous design build projects dealing with numerous vendors, I have come across a few companies that had terrible customer service. Window world was one of these for the following reasons. It is painful to try and contact the staff at window world. Everytime I called and asked for the salesperson I was working with I had to go through what felt like a screening questionnaire. If the person isn't in why can't they just tell me and take a message. The blinds they installed were not working well and the ownership made the decision to not remedy the problem. They even accused us of not making the final payment telling us that we were complaining about the blinds and trying to get out of paying the balance. Their salesman had to inform the owners they were wrong and that we made full payment. Our blinds were well within the warranty yet they refused to honor the warranty. We just wanted the sagging top of the blinds adjusted. I contacted the manufacturer grabber and they confirmed that the blinds were still under warranty. Grabber was helpful and sent me instructions on how to make adjustments but after spending so much money on the blinds shouldn't window world take care if the problem for me? Overall I definitely world not recommend window world. They represent several quality brands however the leadership/ownership at the company is terrible and undeserving of the representation of those brands. Take your money elsewhere. read more

I bought 9 roller shades from Window World and their quality is superb. They look beautiful and elegant. Their prices are also wholesale so you are getting the lowest prices. Trust me, I have looked at Wong's Draperies, Lowes, and Home Depot for a similar product and they all were significantly higher. (Wong's Draperies even has sample books from Window World and marks their prices higher. I guess Wong's Draperies are a 3rd party and requires it to be marked up to make any money.) In the Window World store, they have a lot of samples for you to take a look at: roller, wood, vertical, fabric, etc. Their customer service was really helpful and they even let me borrow a sample book of their roller shade colors and percentage openness so that I could compare the colors and type in my home. Major bonus for people who can't make up their minds!! When I picked out what I wanted, an employee came by to my home at no time at all to take measurements. After about 2 weeks, the shades were cut and I scheduled an installation time. I wasn't there when the installation took place, but when came home to look at it for the first time, I was thoroughly impressed. I only took a star off because when I started rolling up and down one of the shades, it turned crooked at one point and started to snag on the top which messed up the shade's pristine condition. I had a 1-year warranty on the shades, so I called Window World up to ask someone to take a look at them. They fixed the alignment by putting paper filler in the roller? I'm not too sure since I wasn't there during that second meeting as well, but now all is fine. I think this all could have been avoided if they tested out the shades prior to leaving, but maybe the shades were working then and they grew a little with no one touching them. Hehe, I like to give people the benefit of a doubt. GO NOW IF YOU NEED SHADES. Two thumbs up!!! read more

I've been forced to deal with them for the past 8 years because of my poor initial choice in selecting them for our new condo's window blinds and draperies (didn't do my research and just went with the building developer's choice - should have known better). A few years ago, I remember talking with an extremely rude person over the phone and was aghast when learning she was the business owner: Teri ! (other reviewer here concur). Even though they say their material has lifetime warranty (they still charge $75 for a repair visit), she made me dread calling them again when their blinds would need servicing (again and again- suspicious materials wearing off quickly - we hardly use the blinds, only a few times a year). Every time i HAVE to call them (every other year), I am reminded of how extremely dysfunctional this company is; on the latest series, it was a borderline joke: they MISSED the appointment TWICE without any calling on their part (had to wait entire afternoons each time), then they had no idea there ever was an appointment! 3rd time, they didn't have the parts so needed another appointment ! every time you call them , they have no records who you are nor what happened before so making you go through wait times and questionnaires every time to figure out why you are calling, ending up telling you they will call back: they call back about 1 out of 5 times ! These guys make the DMV look great. As another reviewer said: HOW CAN THEY STILL BE IN BUSINESS ? i guess because fools like me don't go on yelp and look at reviews beforehand ;-) I'm not even that worried about payback from this bad review as they do such a horrible job following up and having any clue altogether. I just installed blinds in my new Penthouse in Honolulu and Window World was wonderful. The salesperson, Tanner, helped me select the right blinds for my desired outcome. He was patient and friendly and gave me a fair quote. The workmen were professional, polite and cleaned up afterwards. I highly recommend Window World, both for the great price and installation experience. I have to add, I decided to add another layer of treatment because Hawaii gets such intense sun, and Tanner was so helpful in creatively and cost effectively offering a way in offering a second layer to block out heat.
