This company does not only sell windows; but provides great service. We broke one window and they helped us get a new one from Marvin under warranty. Yesterday I went in with a picture of a broken plastic part on a awning window and Brain was super helpful even though the store was closing in 5 minutes. After finding the correct part. We had windows replaced and have had problems ever since they were replaced. We have called and had the team come and look over the installation with no resolution. They have every excuse why there is a problem. Windows are drafty and you will never get Les Brownell or his staff to admit there is a problem. DO NOT BUY WINDOWS HERE . RUN!!!! YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!! We spent money and we have a few window you cannot sit near because of the drafts. I wish I had never spent money with this company. We had several new windows installed in our ranch style home about a year ago by this company. The ones that were replaced were over 20 years old. Not only are we as cold in the back bedrooms as we were (or colder), we now have condensation and ice on our windows which wouldn't worry me as much except that they are wood inside which will eventually mold and rot. When my husband mentioned that we were still cold, the owner of this company told us to "turn the heat up." (Duh! Why spend thousands of dollars on new windows to have to turn up the heat?). When we complained about the condensation, we were told that it is "normal." I've tried to get expert advice on what proper window covering to purchase, but the experts in window covering don't really know what to do to handle both the draft which comes in around our windows (if not locked) and the condensation/ice build up (locked or not). I honestly don't know what to do next, but am totally unhappy with our experience. I have just purchased a humidity gauge to test the humidity levels in our home, but don't expect it to show a very high humidity since I have dry skin and sinus issues all winter long. Also, the installers did a beautiful job building new window frames and were very clean and neat, but now we can't install window coverings that will help with the cold because the frames are not thick enough for inside installation. Our one window that still has a storm window on it has ice on the storm window during this extremely cold spell, but the inside window is clear. I almost wish we'd gone with Window World and just got replacements at half the cost. I honestly don't know what to do next. We are not happy. read more

I can't say enough about our experience with Brownell. After a lot of ongoing house updates and having run the gamut from major renovations to ordering firewood, we've dealt with varying degrees of disappointment and success, and Brownell was, quite possibly, the best experience. The two exterior doors we ordered were not cheap, but we thought it would be worth it to replace the basic Therma-tru doors that were looking worse for wear with something as practical but a little higher end. It was a long process (a lot of indecision about what to order), but the doors are beautiful and beautifully installed. The guys who came to install them were first-rate. They were professional, friendly, accommodating, and did fantastic work. As an example of how fastidious they were, they pointed out that they were going to make sure we could lock the doors without having to pull on the handle at the same time, which is not the case with any other doors in the house (and not even something I had thought about, to be honest). There is absolutely nothing that could have been done differently to improve the doors or the experience and our satisfaction with the end result, which I can't often say about these projects. Eric, who set up the install, was also very accommodating and couldn't have made getting in touch with him any easier. He encouraged us to call with any questions, no matter how small, and was as thorough and detail-minded as the installers. (I also would like to add that the installers always took their shoes off or put something down to walk on--another huge bonus.) We're going to call and beg Brownell to install some interior doors (they mainly only do exterior doors and windows) for us because we won't go with anyone else if we can avoid it. read more
