An Advanced Practice Nurse who provides anesthesia for GI procedures "in-office" should perform "an uninterrupted medical history" that includes: A thorough pre-anesthesia evaluation should cover the following specific components: 1. Comprehensive Medical & Anesthesia History * Past Medical History: Focuses on cardiac, pulmonary, and endocrine diseases, as these carry the highest perioperative risks. * Anesthetic History: Past complications, adverse reactions (e.g., malignant hyperthermia), and history of difficult intubations or nausea. * Medication & Allergies: Current prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, supplements, and known allergies or adverse drug reactions. * NPO Status: Confirmation of fasting times to prevent aspiration. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] My husband had a rapid fire, cursory medical history while the nurse was also interrupting and asking questions. This is flat out unprofessional and bad practice. This is not opinion, it is legal president for sound medical care in a non-urgent setting. Yet, neither the nurse or the advanced practice nurse listened to the medical history, "yea I read it, You have the usual high blood pressure... I am his wife and a nurse. I interrupted and said AND Glaucoma. The response was, "I saw that too". He was given among other medications: Intravenous "Glyco" glycopyrrolate. In the written discharge directions, on the portal, he was not advised of the warning or to seek medical advice for any signs or symptoms of narrow angle glaucoma. I called his Neuro Ophthalmologist and left a message due to my concern to my husband saying, "I don't want that medication ever again"! I can't see. He usually says nothing. It wasn't until the following day, 24-hours later that I knew. I am calling the State of Illinois to inform them. We will never receive use this vendor of "?" I am not sure what to call it but competent is not a word I would use.

Then two days ago, my husband received a bill "due immediately" for $750. It is dated 8/21 which he clearly did not actually have an appointment on that date as we would never go back and it was a Sunday which they are closed. The best part is it lists NO services and under payment code it says Do Not Delete. I left two voicemails so far and no call back. I feel like this is a cheap attempt at extorting money out of prior clients. Update: beware of the automated response to reviews. They pop up in seconds of posting and don't acknowledge what was written. Clearly since they suggested I call the office although I indicated I called twice.

You might be asking yourself "how good could a pediatric dentist actually be?" The answer? Really…read moregood. Amazingly good, in fact. I hate going to the dentist. Due to a traumatic childhood experience, I actually LOATHE going to the dentist. Unfortunately, giving off the "going to the dentist sucks" vibe to your three little kids? Not acceptable good mom behavior in the least. I did not and do not want my kids to be scarred for life as I was, so to say I was a bit picky in my selection process? Umm, that would be an understatement. Of the century. My four year's appointment just passed and he's still RAVING about the dentist's office and his experience. The office itself is super kid-friendly: two beautiful fish tanks, a toy room, televisions, books...the whole nine yards. Two minutes after paperwork completion, my son's name was called. They first came out into the waiting area, sat on the floor with him, and just spoke with him to make him feel comfortable (it worked). He was able to pick out his favorite flavor (out of about a zillion) for the toothpaste, fluoride...even the exam gloves! He went back for the x-rays by himself (willingly, happily) and once he went to the regular room, I was called back into the room with him. They took pictures (like, real pictures) of his smile (he loved it!) and then his teeth (super cool). While they did the cleaning, the dentist came in to do a little dentist-parent conference; he checked out the x-rays and the pictures (no cavities! YAY!) and talked to my son about good oral hygiene. After that, the dentist asked if we had any questions, the fluoride (of his choosing--he picked cherry) was brushed on, and then my son was given an AMAZING goody bag of toothbrushes, stickers, toothpaste, little toys, and then he was even able to pick out a "treasure" from the treasure chest. On our way out, pretty much everyone in the office said goodbye and told him what a great job he did. As we were approaching the car, he said he couldn't wait to go back. (Is this not a sign of the most amazing dentist in the world or what?!) Overall, even though we had to pay out-of-network cost, it was worth every penny and then some. You will be AMAZED by this office and absolutely everyone there. I wish I could give this place twenty stars! http://www.drstevekuhn.com/

Single handedly the best dental experience I've ever had- and I've had lots and lots of dental work over the years.
