My Op Nurse and Preop nurses Kelly K and Kristen we're great. I was freezing in there and they were trying to give me blankets and some kind of warming machine to help me warm up. But trying to book this was a real pain. First they kept had to pre-pay 375 when I was paid out of the year had to talk to someone twice to 3 different people including calling my insurance again . They finally realized I was right too bad I had to do their job.Then a week before my surgery, which was Labor Day week all of a sudden they said I needed a physical which my doctor called me we didn't understand why.Then they realized I had one within a year , do didn't need that .I didn't know if this was going to happen or not , they made it very stressful. They seem very disorganized. Then after having my IV in for over an hour waiting to go in and have my procedure done, they said it was not actually getting the fluids in. They had to poke me three different times and re-run the IV line. The procedure couldn't start until I had the antibiotics in so that held up my procedure too. So this all took twice as long as it should've to get out of there. So now I have bruising all over my wrist where they couldn't even get the IV in for no reason. read more

After my first cataract surgery, things went downhill with this surgical center. I was scheduled for my second surgery on January 16, and I never received a call for pre-admission. When I called, I had to leave a message and as of today, never got a call back. If you cannot call back a patient, then you should not be in the medical field. Information is always critical to one's healthcare, and for a nurse and/or a medical provider to ignore a call, it a gross miscarriage of the medical profession. read more

I needed the care of Dr. Robert Metzler for pain management. He's very good at his profession and I always feel in good hands with him. The day of the procedure was very professional and well organize. From Andrea at the front desk checking in and Brianna the prep nurse setting the tone and making me feel comfortable. Contrary to the other reviews I didn't have a bad experience here. The facility is recently remodeled and once you get inside everything is very nice. I was getting an HSG after having a myomectomy a few months ago. The receptionist was a little overwhelmed but was still very nice. A little patience goes a long way these days. After that everything was smooth all nurses were knowledgeable and caring. Everybody communicated well. I noticed they have a lot of older patients and I could overhear communication breakdowns or people not understanding why they couldn't do what they wanted in the surgical center. I was fine with everything and understood the rules but I could tell others were having a negative experience and they couldn't understand the procedures. I would recommend having a companion to help out if you're an older patient or have a disability. read more

I do not recommend anyone come here. The nursing staff is extremely rude, unpleasant, and makes you feel like a burden. It's unfortunate when a nurse is supposed to be kind and compassionate and you get the complete opposite experience. This place really needs to evaluate the number one priority of healthcare- the patient's health/experience. read more

Highly recommend you do not go to this facility. Find another provider. The first issue is we went to find out how much a surgery would cost. We were told with our insurance it would end up being about $600. I'm not sure where they got that because by the end we owed $2500. The reason You'll get a bill from the doctor who is contracted out. You'll then get a bill for the room (Ours was $3318 for instance) and then you'll get billed for Anesthesia. I know some places bill separately, that's fine. But the final cost was just so inaccurate. I also don't understand how the Doctor, who went to years of med school to get the knowledge needed to help my daughter only charges $1000 but to use the room we are charged $3318. Secondly, the overall staff was just so/so. They didn't seem to care much. Nothing rude or anything, just not friendly. So anyway, if you have good insurance and don't care about the price, go for it. If not, avoid and look elsewhere. read more

I have had 2 surgeries at Tinley Woods Surgery Center. Both procedures could NOT have been better. The entire pre-operative staff were exceptional. The prep nurse (name unknown) and Nurse Chris were very informative and through....and especially Dr. McNamara (anesthesiologist) is very professional. She knows her professional very well and does it very well too. I was lucky to have her as my anesthesiologist on both surgeries and my confidence in Dr McNamara is over the top. I have had surgeries at other hospitals and with other anesthesiologists and had bad experiences.....even possible death as I was O.D.'d by one and spent 3 days in the I.C.U. Dr. McNamara is a important asset to Tinley Woods and they are lucky to have her there. read more

The nurses and staff at this place were great. I could not believe how personable each and every one of the nurses here were. We were in with our 16 year old and they went above and beyond even when our 12 year "non-patient" fainted after seeing her brother get an IV put in. Doctor was running late, but the nurses kept checking on us and keept us up to speed. Really happy with professionalism and caring. read more

If you want 2 wait 3 hours b4 your doc even get there to do a procedure come here. I received a call from Linda stating my procedure was at 730 but come at 630 to find out when I get there that my procedure is at 930. After I called Linda stupid ass twice to see if I could get a later time for the procedure for her to tell me no my doc procedures start early so I need to be here early . If her stupid ass wasn't rushing me off the phone she would have noticed that. Linda you lucky I didn't slap your ass on the spot with my broke hand for having me come in that early and still had 2 wait until 930 plus I could have worked my shift the night b4 and got off at 7 and came here aftwards . This facility is great. Last year my husband had his routine colonoscopy here and, had a good experience so I decided to have mine there as well. Was called in immediately and put in the post op room for all the necessary things they do prior to your procedure. Did have a bit of a wait there before the anesthesiologist and the doctor came in, but at least I was told about it so I wasn't wondering where the doctor was. Everyone was extremely congenial, kind, and professional from the front desk staff to the nurses, the doctor, anesthesiologist basically everyone I came in contact with. They explained everything very thoroughly to me and even called my husband back so he could see me off into the procedure room. Afterwards they put me in the recovery room and called my husband back so he could visit with me. Gave me juice and cookies and also gave my husband juice and cookies. Whole thing took about two and a half hours from walking in the front door to walking back out to the car. I would highly recommend this facility for any procedure that you might need. read more

Recently had 2 cataract surgeries. Any surgery is serious. I was nervous. Everyone I encountered from Reception, Pre Op, to nursing and surgery was very professional, kind and gracious. Everything was impeccable. Nursing staff were excellent and the Anesthesiologist was friendly, calm and professional. I felt very taken care of and would highly recommend Tinley Woods It is the best! Then there is Doctor Sam Multack, who did both my cataract procedures. He is not just a highly skilled surgeon, he is an artist. I would go there again without hesitation. read more

If you have any other options - take them. Avoid this place! Starting with them calling me & telling me I have to go on a computer to register. What about people without computers? When I went onto the website they directed me to, I had to "agree" that any company associated with the website had full access to my medical records. I think not! I called & insisted they register me in person. Nothing but robotic workers who have blank stares when questioned about anything--like why I got a call on my cell phone looking for me 45 minutes after I had checked in at their front desk! When they called to instruct me which medications to stop prior to surgery, the nurse said "I don't know what one" regarding one of my medications. I had to google it and read it to her. At which time she said "oh yeah, you should stop that 5 days before surgery". I pointed out my surgery was in 3 days! She said "oh, you'll be fine". How assuring is that? While sitting in the pre-op prep area (for over 2 hours) I got to hear the staff "at work"--call after call asking "how are you after yesterday's surgery" and without giving the person they were calling any time to respond, saying "REMEMBER TO COMPLETE AND RETURN THE SURVEY!" And hearing they are out of clean gowns, and down to the last 4 IV bottles! YIKES! I had to go here twice per my doctor's orders. For the 1st surgery, I was knocked out within seconds of being put on the bed in the operating room. For the 2nd surgery, I had to tell them 2 different times "I am still awake" while the surgery was already underway. There is so much more I could go into about this place but let's just leave it at - find another location for your surgeries! read more
