I hosted a morale event here for my team last week, and everyone had a great time. No one but me had painted before, and someone was scared, but as our teacher guided everyone through, people relaxed and had a lot of fun. I ordered drinks and snacks since we were going to dinner later, and they were fresh. Appreciated the variety of items on the boards. Kudos to the manager who rounded up an office chair for me from somewhere as they only have barstools to sit on in the studio which I can't use. In 2 hours, we all had a painting to take home. Nothing was varnished and they don't offer to ship items. read more

Loved this place! I came here with Wounded warrior and we did a resin board. There was about 12 of us who came. The employees were friendly and helpful. Most of us have never used resin before but many have bought kits. I bought a coaster kit before but was afraid I would mess it up either way bubbles. The employees made it easy for us to do out project, letting us know about resin, etc. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

I've walked or driven by here pretty much daily for the last few years, but I had never been inside until this weekend. We had our daughter's 5th birthday party here, and Arezou and her team really do make it a seamless process. They have pre-set painting options to choose from and have 2 spaces available. Since the kids are young, and most aren't ok with drop offs, we had the kids painting upstairs while the adults hung out downstairs. The downstairs space is free if you order from their menu (charcuterie / fruit / veggie boards, wine), which is really nice for the parents. They take care of plates, utensils, etc, and you order snacks and drinks through the venue. We got a few bottles of prosecco and brut rose for the adults and fruit board that was a hit with the kids. You can bring pizza and cake / cupcakes. They had food service gloves to help serve the pizza, and they had cupcake stands and even had a candle for the birthday girl! The staff were so on top of things and went above and beyond for a lively group of 5 year olds. They made sure everyone was cleaned up after painting and took care of all of the setup and cleanup. Arezou was so easy to work with, thought of every detail, and she is clearly very experienced both with events and dealing with young kids. This was our first time having a kids' birthday party at a venue, and Wine & Design / Art Buzz was so worth it! read more

Due to Covid-19, management decided to substitute our holiday party with a virtual paint party! There were ~30 people who attended through Teams and everyone (including kids) had so much fun. Some of us had technical issues in the beginning but it all worked out. Our instructor was interactive and provided great instruction throughout our 2 hour party. They had a courier drop off my paint supplies to my house an hour before our paint party started. Talk about close call, I'm soooooo glad I didn't miss it. Not to mention, the man who dropped off my supplies was friendly! The painting kit included 6 different kinds of paints, tissue, apron, large canvas, and three different paint brushes. I highly highly recommend !!!!! So I've partook in two wine & design event . One DIY and one virtual .. The virtual event consisted of the canvas and art kit being delivered to my home and the actual class being hosted over zoom. The instructor was extremely patient and detailed oriented... I actually enjoyed it more than in person classes I've taken (at other studios in the past). She described how to create/ mix colors and provided alternative art techniques l. The paint kits consisted of plates cup smock plastic to protect your painting space and the necessary color to execute your picture. DIY- i was able to communicate with Pina she granted me access to their online portfolio. I was able to chose two designs. Within 24 hours the canvas were ready for pick up. ** both canvas included outlines of the image** I found the outlines extremely helpful because I am not artistic at all. In addition to the canvas with outlines I purchased the necessary paint colors. I was able to grab extra paint colors and brushes from the dollar tree. I opted for a diy home wine & paint event for Christmas instead of exchanging gifts with family. My family enjoyed and this was the only time they stfu at a family event. It made an excellent family activity appropriate for all ages. And super affordable!! ($10 per person) They have an amazing art catalog to chose from. I highly recommend!!! read more

What a great place to hold a celebration. Painting coupled with drinking? What a novel and wonderful idea. For the kiddies, this can be fun as well. I would recommend the kids be at least 8 or 9 years old so that the quality of their work can truly be admired (reading hung by their parents). The instructors are super friendly and helpful. They thoughtfully divide the space into 2 sections: kids and +21. The kids are safe and being entertained while the adults have a space all their own to mingle and "get away" if only for a brief moment. read more

I'd never been to a "wine & paint" night before (and hadn't picked up a brush in years) so I didn't quite know what to expect, but after attending a Wine & Design class last month, I think I'm hooked! Natalia made the evening so much fun--she was incredibly attentive and helpful to everyone, and there was never any pressure to follow the prompts exactly or have your painting appear "perfect". I walked out feeling so happy and re-energized (the well-priced wine helped too!) and my friends and I are planning to book another class with Natalia ASAP. read more

After dinner at Brown Sugar Kitchen, my coworker and I headed over to Wine & Design which we booked about 2 weeks in advance. Very spacious and airy location and also easy to find. The wine selections were pretty extensive. There's something for everyone! I'm a sweet wine person so I wanted moscato, but there wasn't any. However, they had Stella Rosa which was pretty delicious! The painting we did was Flowers in Her Hair and our instructor's name was Sabrina, I think. Sabrina did a fantastic job at teaching, however most people were rushed at the end to finish filling in the hair around the flowers. Surely there was a better, easier, and less technical way to do this, but many people left with the the hair not completely filled in and I felt bad for them that they weren't able to finish in time for this time consuming portion of the painting. There were some more advanced people in the class who started going ahead and were able to finish everything, so I recommend that in these classes it's OK to veer off ahead of the instructor for the sake that you'll finish everything in time. If you fall behind, there's hardly any time in the end to catch up. Anyway, it was encouraged to be creative and use whatever colors we wanted which everyone pretty much did. We enjoyed our time and definitely would not mind coming back to do another! read more

With shelter in place in full effect, this was the best zoom meeting. Everyone absolutely enjoyed themselves and those who weren't able to attend were sad to have missed it. Great instruction. Great service with getting us our supplies. Easy to work with Tina with finding our design, date and setup for our private event. I'm looking forward to doing this again. I came here for my birthday On November 3rd! It was my first time and I've been wanting to do this for a long time. My friends and I were nervous since were not painters, but Steve who was our instructor encouraged us to add our own personality to our painting and make it our own. Steve is such a great help even when I needed more paint on my plate, he was so attentive to all of us. We had wine there, we brought our own snacks and they provided us with plates. Best part is that their plates come with a placement to hold your wine!! This place is amazing and I will definitely be back for their drop in classes for theme nights! read more

We love it here. We come here for date night ateast once a month. The staff is incredibly friendly, encouraging, and genuine. The owner is amazing and she truly cares about the experience that her patrons have when they're there. I was hesitant to go at first because I am pretty competitive and have had some rough times where I've felt like I'd never be "good enough" no matter what the subject was. Im not exaggerating when I say that the experiences I've had here have changed my life. Confidence has never been something I've been familiar with, but this place has changed that. I've never felt more confident. I truly cannot thank the women (and the occasional man) enough for helping me through this past year. I can't express how much I love this place, and how welcome and comfortable they make me feel. I just hope that they feel my gratitude. P. S. Not real into customer satisfaction which was disappointing. I signed up early for Valentines Day thinking it would be a good way to celebrate without going out. I thought wine would be included or at least available for purchase, but no wine in the equation at all not offered or discussed.... OK guess I'll coordinate that piece separately (although its literally in the name of the business). Times are tough, I get it. In the age of COVID we all need to be flexible. Which is why, to my surprise, even though I gave more than two weeks notice and Tina hadn't actually provided any services yet, she refused to refund my payment when I learned that my partner was no longer going to be in town over Valentines Day. She refused refund my money , would not provide a recording of the session for us to do later, and offered one of only two different paintings they they did have recorded, neither of which really interested me and were not very attractive. I basically got "take it or leave it", she already had my money. When I had to settle for something I didn't really want, and certainly not what I paid for, she gave me a time to come pick up the supplies. The day I was supposed to go pick them up, she emailed me saying she forgot she had an appointment in San Jose and wouldn't be there for me to pick up the supplies as we had agreed. She instead said she could leave them at the bar next door and I could pick them up there. When I went in to get the supplies, they asked me if I wanted to buy something from them since they held my supplies. I don't blame them and felt obligated to make a purchase (it's a cider place and I don't drink ciders) so now I'm out more money. Had high hopes for this experience, seems like a great concept and thought it a perfect date night but was disappointed in the total uninterest in my experience as a customer. I'm sure you could youtube these painting videos, you're already on your own for wine anyways, so pick up some cheap art supplies while you're out and you're all set. Not a great experience so I see no need to return. read more

My friends and I had a blast here last week! We'd never done a sip and paint class as a group, and walked away with a new must-do activity. It was so much fun, and the instructor, Natalia, was so attentive and encouraging. I hadn't picked up a paint brush in years, but thanks to Natalia and this class I got to rediscover something I love doing. If you're on the fence, definitely give it a go -- you won't be disappointed! Giving three stars because I do think the staff was friendly, but this was a very average experience. Was here with a group and the instructor had a really quiet microphone so it was hard to hear him give instruction. He also went really quickly and didn't provide any tips, just told you exactly what to do. Definitely don't think I improved my painting skills... Corkage fee is $15 if you want to bring your own bottle and we had to pay $35 for the experience. Would do again if it was more of $15-$20. read more

Paint kits and bottles of wine were delivered to everyone who lived in the Bay Area. Our Artist, Sonicah was awesome with her painting instructions. This was such a fun experience! They have a hilarious Bob Ross cutout you can take selfies with. Tina was a perfect host, she offers a warm welcome, a fantastic selection of wines and all your materials prepared at your station, complete with your name. One thing I found more helpful about this place, is they spend time prepping the canvas in advance, drawing a slight template in, so, you are already on the way to pretty painting. Definitely made a difference for my masterpiece! There is a helpful TV monitor mounted up where everyone can see brushstrokes and Steve Javiel offered great instruction-as a professional Bay Area artist himself. My boyfriend signed us up for wine and design to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We had so much fun! The owners and the artist were extremely welcoming and friendly. The artist gave the perfect amount of direction and balanced her instruction by encouraging us to put our own creative spins on our paintings. We painted a giraffe and we will definitely be hanging the giraffe in our condo. read more

My sorority sisters and I had a night out to celebrate a milestone. We brought snacks and wine. Although they have some there, there are some ya that just bring wine wherever we go. It was absolutely an amazing time to relax and just be with my sisters. I do not have art skills; got a C+ in Art Appreciation in College and they were being generous. But Chan he instructor supported us in getting to the tones and look I wanted to obtain. I am a scientist so it just felt challenging but good to exercise my Right Brain a little and let go of the week. I met some new amazing people. This will definitely be something I just do on my own when I'm stressed, or need to let out some mental or emotional creativity. The charge is $35 and there is a $15 cork fee. But it was worth having my own bottle (self proclaimed wine snob). Next time I will buy there because they had a wide variety. I promised myself I would schedule time to go once a quarter if not once a month. read more

This place is amazing! Such a fun night out. The location is incredible, right in Jack London Square with great parking. The studio is huge, with a kids room in front and an "adults" painting room in the back. There is a bar with a good selection of beer and wine, the staff is so talented and fun. I've been to a paint and wine class before at a different studio and painted a hideous painting that was quickly donated to goodwill. At Wine and Design I made the most beautiful painting of the Golden Gate Bridge and had so much fun doing it. Plus, my son got to paint as well. Wine and Design is the perfect night out for all ages. We had a girls' night for my birthday, and it was SO fun! The party planning was a snap as Tina is a breeze to work with and super flexible and responsive. She has plates, cloth napkins, real silverware and of course wine glasses! Everything was just as I had hoped. It's been a long time since many of us have used the creative side of our brains, and at first we were a little intimidated about whether we'd be able to pull off the painting. The instructor, Marisa, made the painting process so easy and fun - who knew us non-artists could create such beautiful works of art!
