Sula and her staff facilitated all of my son's homework and made sure they checked his work. They encouraged him to draw and build - to use his imagination. He really enjoyed his time with the students after school - a really diverse set of kids of all ages. Sula is lovely to work with and was accommodating when we needed a camp for our other child during summer break. I'd recommend this program.

GK taught him penmanship, reading, tracing, writing, public speaking, projects, math and what not in less than 6 months, all while keeping it fun and exciting. Ms. Joanna who manages this place and is the program director is simply stellar. Their curriculum is very solid. Ms. Mila is a great teacher along with Ms. Joanna. I had enrolled my son just for kicks, but it turned out to be the best thing for him. I never thought he'd do this well under their guidance and supervision. Don't wait, give Genius Kids a shot if you truly want your kids to excel too, and become a genius!

Yes, their fees are quite high, but they mostly use young people as instructors. Some of them don't have a lot of experience in coaching, so the quality of coaching you get will vary. It is extremely competitive to get into the teams where you get better quality coaching. Just think of this as a place where your kids go to learn some gymnastics, but don't expect them to achieve any professional levels generally.

Avoid this center: A total waste of two years…read more Gold Star Gymnastics is a pure money-trap that prioritizes business over athlete development. My daughter came from a competitive background (Hot Shots at CSC) and is a world record holder in hula hooping, yet the coaches here showed zero interest in her potential. We invested in double classes and summer camps to accelerate her progress, but she was stuck in their "orange/yellow" level for a year with no path forward. The "coaches" never bothered to provide targeted training or help her reach the pre-team level. To make matters worse, they gave her crushing negative feedback right to her face after a pre-team evaluation, which ultimately caused her to quit gymnastics entirely. They rely on their central location to attract new families, but they do not care about the students. Save your time and money--look elsewhere.

My kids have attended the Palo Alto location for several years and it's one of our favorite camps,…read morespecifically because of the freedom the kids have. The day is not specifically scheduled and kids have a chance to choose their own activities and where they want to go. I love the flexibility to drop off and pick up when you want; I love the refund policy. I love that they always, always check your ID when you check your kid out. There are rules and there are daily gatherings and traditions, which the kids like, but they have a lot of freedom. They often sprint through the doors so excited to be there. On countless occasions over many summers the counselors and Director have gone out of their way to help us with our specific issues. Highly recommend if you have an active kid or want an unstructured experience.

The camp is owned by Bright Horizons Family Solutions, which also operates licensed child care…read morefacilities. Those facilities are subject to significant CA regulations, including the right of parents to observe care unannounced whenever they want. This camp is not, which I found out when I waited more than 20 minutes for the camp to find my 4 year old and was not allowed to go find him, even with staff escort. If the company wants to run the camps with radically different policies from the licensed centers, they can. But I think they should spell out that policy on their website, and then parents can ponder why the policies are different. One possibility is they might not want parents to look into a room and see a bunch of 4 year olds staring at iPad screens? Parents can easily roam the outside areas where campers are playing, just not the inside rooms or hallway. Otherwise the camp has been decent. My son talks about the iPads the most.
