She spoke in hushed tones and watched me carefully as I perused the selection of Balkan vodkas. I have been back several times due to the fact that it is the closest wine/liquor store to my apartment (and conveniently located right by the train), and the customer service has improved slightly. The woman no longer sports the eye patch, and seems to have a much friendlier demeanor on the whole. I've even seen her laughing. Although the sign outside says they accept all major credit cards, be advised that they have a 20 dollar minimum (so drink up!).

I had a very uncomfortable experience outside this store while waiting for my car service. I was…read morestanding on the public sidewalk where I had entered my pickup location when an older woman from the store came outside and told me I couldn't stand there and should move elsewhere. I politely explained that I was waiting for my ride and intended to stay where I was. After that, she went inside and came back out with a bottle of Windex, supposedly to clean the windows. While doing so, I was sprayed by the cleaning solution. I remained calm and told her that we should all be treating each other with kindness and respect, but her behavior felt unnecessarily hostile and unwelcoming. During the interaction, another woman approached me and mentioned that she had experienced a similar issue with the same employee. Regardless of the reason, no customer or passerby should be made to feel uncomfortable for standing on a public sidewalk while waiting for transportation. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this establishment... Racism and discrimination will not be accepted...

This wine shop is definitely solid, and the guy behind the partition knows his stock and is able to provide good recommendations. My only reason for the star deduction is that the interior space is completely walled off in bullet-proof glass, leaving the customer only about a 4 foot wide walkway through the middle of the store to view their goods with. Additionally, almost nothing in the store has prices displayed, which makes browsing a sight more difficult.

The red and white wine section is very basic. They have a few good brands but mostly just generic stuff under $15. The specialty liquors are a hit or miss. As I mentioned, the selection is pretty generic. Especially the Gin. If you want good Gin, you'll have to go elsewhere. The whiskey selection is a little better. They do have Macallan. So the wine you'll bring to Thanksgiving dinner will temporary make your family forget what a loser you really are. During that over-hyped Hurricane Irene fiasco, this place was jammed packed full of customers. Hide yo' kids, hide yo' wife, hide all y'all liquor... Btw., they're also open on Sundays. That way you don't get the Sunday shakes. Just kidding...
