I wanted to check this store but I didn't know that I was so closed this past Saturday, so after we were done in the AAA we passed by. This are the things I liked about this store: 1. The size I think is just right. 2. The very raw tables and chairs. Mostly light wooden ones. 3. The helpful lady in charge. 4. The ambiance with nice music. 5. The well proportioned amount of wines from over the world. 6. Their fair prices. The only thing I didn't like was the parking, in that day's case I didn't have a problem because I was already parked for the event I went, but If I want to go again I know it's going to be so so for me. They have wine tasting and you can find the information in their website. I have singed up a few weeks ago and since I was there I asked her more information and the nice lady was telling me, that they gave 1.0 oz of each wine (about 6-8 different wines to try) and they are educational classes, not any regular tasting. The cost is $25 and the days are posted on their website.

Stefano and Kacey have done it again!!! this is a cozy little place in front of the American Airlines arena. Stefano is a very knowledgeable person and passionate about wine!!! Every time I come to a tasting with him is an experience... this las one was with Vega Sicilia winery and it was awesome!!! We also had some pairings that were very good... I congratulate them again!!! High five and see you soon... Enjoy

We went to Wine by the Bay for a rosé wine tasting. I didn't know much about rosé or the quality of it in the spectrum of overall wine so I was interested in learning and not to mention tasting. The environment and décor is perfect. They're in a great location and they do have some nice out door seating. However, the class is held in the center of the store on a large wooden table. You're surrounded by paintings and wine I loved it. The instructors were very knowledgeable and charismatic. The class had a great flow to it. They had some snacks (cheese and chorizo) to follow some of the wines which was great. Definitely something different and nice to do with a group of friends or your partner on a Friday night. Not to mention we left tipsy and with a bottle of wine!

Came here with my girlfriends for a wine tasting class that we purchased on Groupon and we really enjoyed it. Stefano is a great host and extremely knowledgeable about his field. I love the space, it took place in an art gallery. Only downfall, the seating wasn't comfortable and the class description stated there were going to be little bites paired with the wine and there was no appetizers whatsoever so we came out of there starving. Also, the wine bottles are reasonably priced and are available for purchase after the class.

Piola is quickly becoming my go to neighborhood spot for an Italian fix…read more I am obsessed with the meatballs and have gotten them every time I have come here. The chicken parm is quite good and a large portion. Can be shareable between 2-3 people. The service was pretty quick on a quietish weeknight.

It was a frozen concoction of fresh pineapple and strawberry juice with wine based liquor and it was divine. I usually stay away from frozen drinks out of fear of sugar concentrated juices, but the fresh juices made the drink such a delight. I was a happy camper knowing I had another one coming after my first one. They make wine based cocktails that aren't very far from the real deal, so it's a great way to find some favorite drinks without going down the liquor rabbit hole. I had the meatballs which came swimming in a tasty marinara with a side of crusty bread. The meatballs were seasoned just right and perfect to munch on with my drink and the red wine that came afterwards. I mopped up the sauce with the bread and have no regrets. The staff and management knew I was holding a book club meeting and gave us a beautiful partially enclosed space with a table to seat 10 people surrounded by shelves of wine that they sell. If you order a bottle and it's a red, they'll take it right off the shelf and open it for you. Sometimes they have a half off wine bottle promotion, so it's good to go and check out what they have going on! The manager Rebecca and her staff took great care of a rambunctious group of hungry and thirsty bookworms and made us feel very welcome. I can't wait to hold another meeting there as an excuse to return!

Lost Boys is one of my favorite local bars. I have been coming here for years so long overdue…read morereview. I have been watching the World Cup games here and it has been very fun. I want to say the staff waiting the tables, bar, and kitchen have done an amazing job always friendly even when at times the bar was fully packed they were all troopers and gave amazing service. Our waitress Devon always has a smile on her face and is super tentative. Thank you Devon - me and Dianna love you!

The biggest thing for me was the overall energy and engagement from the staff. I'm naturally a pretty social and engaged person, especially when I'm sitting at a bar, and I made an effort to interact with the bartenders. I just didn't really feel that same engagement coming back. Nobody was necessarily rude or disrespectful--it just felt disconnected, and the energy was a little strange to me. I also didn't realize until I tried to pay that the bar doesn't accept cash. Maybe that was posted somewhere and I missed it, and once they told me, it wasn't a big deal. But little things like that, combined with the overall interaction, affected the experience. Another thing I didn't realize until receiving my check was that gratuity was already included. I wasn't verbally told about it, and I personally didn't see it disclosed anywhere beforehand. From my understanding, an automatic gratuity or service charge is required to be disclosed to the guest before the purchase, not something they should only discover when they receive the check. Maybe there was a notice somewhere that I missed, so I'm not saying there wasn't one, but I definitely wasn't aware of it. I think that's an important thing for guests to know upfront, especially because someone could easily add another tip without realizing gratuity was already included. Ironically, the one person I genuinely connected with and had a good conversation with was another guest at the bar, not a member of the staff. That interaction actually helped make my time there more enjoyable. For me, hospitality is about more than serving a drink. Especially when someone is clearly open, friendly, and trying to engage, that's an easy opportunity to create a connection and turn a first-time guest into someone who wants to come back. I felt like I gave plenty of opportunities for that interaction, but it just never really happened. I still had a good time because I can have a good time pretty much anywhere, and nothing happened that would make me say Lost Boys is a bad bar. It just didn't feel like the staff cared much about enhancing the experience beyond serving the drinks. So four stars because I respect what the place is and can see why it works as a neighborhood bar. It just didn't give me a reason to come back, and personally, I don't think I would.
