We came here about about 45 min before closing and tried the $36 Cabernet Sauvignon tasting. I loved the tasting because each wine presented was really unique from the other; all of them tasted high quality. You get to experience the following flavors: jammy/sweet, earthy, a combined sweet & earthy, and a smooth vegetal red. The crowd favorite was the sweet & earthy but my favorite was the more vegetal one. The interior of the wine bar was beautiful, luxe, and cozy. The host was friendly and seemed to love wine. I'd love to come back and try more of their flights and maybe some food next time.

It's a cute little wine bar in San Carlos. The wine I chose was highly rated and listed 92-93 pts on their menu, however it wasn't great. I felt bad after he corked it and didn't want to say anything... I really like the ambiance of this place and the staff were nice. Probably will come back to try the food and some other wine. They also have happy hour and offer $2 off food and glasses of wine.

Green/blue/blackish mold found on the charcuterie board. The way they handled it was even worse. They didn't even apologize or offer a refund. Instead they offered a partial refund on the board, right, not the bill, but the prosciutto part of the charcuterie board; or to replace it with the same prosciutto from the same batch and making sure they cut the mold off. I don't know about you all but that's about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

    Fun night with friends!!

*TIP* Come on a Friday night! They started doing live music and it adds to the great mood already created. What a cool place to casually hang out with friends or even by yourself if you want to just enjoy the quaint and charming ambiance of this wine bar. It's not just a wine bar though, my friends and I were warmly welcomed by the owner, Len and throughout the night (yes we enjoyed wine tastings) BUT we also enjoyed the food and fun games they offer for you to play as well. Len is passionate about his wine and his co-owner/daughter, Melissa is passionate about her food! They make an awesome combo together because I had zero complaints about the quality of food or wine plus they are so friendly and personable. What you should try! -I love their wine options and there's a lot to choose from, I love they offer a flight option! I wanted some variety in my flight so Len was happy to combine: a Rose, a White and a Red together for me to taste. I love a good pinot and naturally for me the red was my favorite, next time ill get the pinot flight, BUT the rose also just glided and was so smooth to drink. (They offer bubblies and non alcoholic beverages too) -"The Witches Brew" special! Was a wine cocktail. Its a creative drink inspired by the halloween spirit. Ask what other wine cocktails they offer when you go! I'm a foodie SO naturally I was hyped when I realized the food is legit. OMG it's so good. -Get the Artichoke dip, its not your traditional dip BUT it's delicious with the owners own flare of "secret ingredients" that compliment it so well. -The BREAD PUDDING: Is moist, rich, and the flavors change seasonally... This time of year it was pumpkin spice with a bourbon sauce that absolutely melted in my mouth *pro-tip*: Ask for ice cream on the side, it's a great compliment! Truffle Popcorn: Fun snack has a salty/sweet/savory taste to it! Bacon Gouda Quiche: Huge serving! Was able to share with others. -I'm saving one of the best for last: their Charcuterie cheese plate!!! We tried a brie, marinated feta (from Australia) and a sharp cheddar. These cheeses are delicious plus their soft baguette, fig jam and honey to spread was just out of this world. The Brie was SO soft and creamy, it was smoother than butter and the honey complimented it so well. Others in my party said the feta was their favorite! Definitely get this when you go. I'm drooling thinking about it. Len and Melissa have a passion for what they do, and their efforts shine at their restaurant. -They do private events regularly and sometimes catering (on request and circumstance) -They have a ton of specials! Don't forget to check in on Yelp for 5.00 off on your wine glass. -Parking is sometimes limited -Look for their Happy Hour! -You don't need to be a wine lover to enjoy this spot. It's casual and fun, Len and his staff are happy to help you decide on what to order and to share their knowledge in wine. Dont think twice on spending time here, just do it =) n

Cabernet? More like caber-YAY! This quaint Wine Lounge is nestled at the end of Downtown San Carlos a few blocks away from all the hustle and bustle. It was the perfect setting for a romantic evening. The Live Music was also a very sweet surprise! Hubby and I sat at the bar where we met the owner, Len. He was very knowledgeable, and hospitality was superb from all the staff. We started off with two flights, You Had me at Pinot, and I Just Want Red. The pours were very generous and delicious. We got the Charcuterie Platter (prosciutto was AMAZING) and Truffle Popcorn (THIS IS A MUST TRY) and everything paired well with each other. Hubby and I both had a great time and even bought 2 bottles to take home. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a new place to visit that has a ton of options by the glass (I think he said 60? Or 100?)

Had a good time here, there's some beautiful people here. They have some really great artichoke dip and truffle popcorn. They have a happy hour here too.

San Carlos is a little bit far off from me but I'm so happy I decided to come after all! The restaurant is very cozy and dimly lit which makes for a very intimate setting. There's bar seating, tables, and couches available to lounge in. It's awesome that they have board games too! Ok now for the wine and food: I got a Pinot noir flight and my friend got a sweet white wine flight. We ordered a charcuterie plate to go along with it. It was delicious but nothing that really blew me away. I'd have to say my favorite part was actually dessert, which was the pumpkin spice bread pudding with ice cream. Soooo good! We also got some sweet and smoky Malbec dessert wines to try with it. Overall a good experience and the staff were friendly. I'd come back if I was in the area.

Kudos to proprietor Len for his support of local live music. And as the 'house band' providing acoustic ambiance (solo fingerstyle guitar*) every Friday night 6:30-9:30pm, I appreciate all the reviews here which mention live music...thanks! * https://www.jr-guitar.com/hardlystrictlyjazz p.s. since I get to sample every week, let me add that the wine and food are amazing....

My fiance and I came here with a deal from Living Social for a "wine making experience." The deal was a bit on the pricier side ($120), but it also came with six bottles of wine. Throughout the night we were able to taste about seven different wines and were also given several cheese pairings and a brownie, all of which were pretty delicious. Part of the deal was also to bottle our own wine to take home. Fun! The only real downsides were that I was expecting it to be more like a class, which it wasn't at all. We had a quick intro to the facility and short tour, then bottled our own wine, which only took a few minutes. While I wasn't expecting to go out and harvest and ferment our own grapes, since it was called "wine making," I thought there'd be a little more to it. I also couldn't help but think of what a clever advertisement the deal was for the facility, which was smart on their part, but also evident throughout the night as we learned about the actual wine making club and were reminded many times that cases of wine were available for purchase. Either way, any event that involves wine and cheese makes me happy, so I'd say it was a success.

Dom and Gloria and the rest of the crew are just terrific, and have become like family to us. We typically get the Napa Cab grapes and opt for blending just before bottling. That means, we crush straight cabernet sauvignon, and let that mature for almost two years. About a month before bottling we'll sit down with the winemaker and experiment. With small volumes we'll play around with adding 10% sangiovese or 3% petit verdot, or a dose of montepulciano, or whatever seems to fit. Sometimes we go with an addition, sometimes we just let the cab speak for itself. It is a very rewarding way to enjoy wine. And as I wrote in the Domenico review, their facility is terrific for holding events.

Don't judge just because it's an industrial park, this place is a tight, efficient operation and makes great use of it's space. It's got a huge copper still that makes everything from gin to rye whiskey to brandies to absinthe. On Friday nights you can get a tour and tasting for $15. Because of California law, spirits cannot be sold at the distillery, except wine/grape based brandies. The Blade gin is a citrusy gin with a lot of complexity but not much strong juniper flavor that turns most people off. The Rusty Blade is the same Blade gin that is aged in barrels which brings out more cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. It's very much a winter spirit in my opinion. The pear eau de vie brandy really packs a punch with a lot of great pear flavor and though I'm not really a fan of eau de vies this one is a great one. Also, make sure you try the walnut liqueur, based on a Croatian family recipe, for something different. Finally, yes, absinthe, real absinthe, is now legal in the US and you can taste La Sorcière here. It's a great traditional absinthe with a lot of anise flavor. The distiller who gave us the tour and the tasting was really nice and knowledgable. It was a great experience and I encourage everyone to visit once.

That is good hospitality. I suggest you patronize them on the service alone and it's nice that they make some solid products to boot. The crowd was much rowdier than I had expected but then I realized that Devil's Canyon event happened at the same time so I'm sure you're getting some of that crowd too.
