I came to Wine O'Clock for the first time on July 28th with family. We sat outside and the ambience was lovely with perfect weather. For the first half of our lunch, the service was good. At some point, our waitress went on break without a warning to us, seating herself nearby with a friend to eat lunch. We had already ordered, and three of the four meals came out together fairly promptly. My meal, a pizza, did not arrive at the same time. I am comfortable waiting a few minutes for my meal, but part of the appeal of dining out (at least in my opinion) is to enjoy food at the same time as your companions. Finally, after my family was half-finished and it had been more than ten minutes without any service, I had to get up, go inside the restaurant, and track someone down. At that point the woman I located spoke to the chef and delivered my food. The pizza (pear and bacon) was delicious. So was the grilled romaine salad. I believe my family enjoyed their food as well. The food in Seattle would be good, but in Central Washington the rating increases to excellent. However, the restaurant did not deduct the price of my pizza from our bill (which I felt was warranted in this situation). The waitress did bring out a complimentary dessert which was nice but not the appropriate remedy. Though the effort mitigated my annoyance at being unable to enjoy my meal at the same time as my family, I do feel the proper course of action would have been removing the cost of my meal from the bill, especially where the restaurant is higher-priced in terms of the area. I truly do not mind paying higher dining prices where the restaurant provides above-average food and service. Wine O'Clock is in Prosser, and as others have noted it is one of the only restaurants of its kind in the area. Would I go back? Perhaps. Do I feel the restaurant could make some improvements to their service and attention to detail? Most definitely. read more

Great food and wine. My favorite was the pear and bacon pizza, in a surprising twist my wife preferred the artisan meat WITH EGG. Can't go wrong either way. This is a must to stop in for pizza or whatever is on the menu. On this visit I had a lamb burger with brie and yummy local cherries smothered all over it. I wasn't eating bread since I had already drank my carbs, which was handy because I ate every tender morsel with a fork and knife. read more

Far and away the best food in the Yakima Valley for lunch at least. Located in the "Vintners Village" of wineries in Prosser, and inside a winery itself, the setting is beautiful. We visited there in October, and the place was full with a great buzz and tantalizing aromas as you entered. In fact before you entered you could smell the fresh herbs used in their food, because they grow them all out front. When touring wineries, food is mandatory, and Wine O'Clock has just the right menu. Incredibly unique pizzas and salads and the wines are fantastic. The owners obviously have what it takes and alot of pride in their place. Being from MA, it may be a long time before we can make it back, but we'll definitely remember the food. My friends and I liked it so much we ate dinner here both nights we were in town. The first evening we had the goat cheese fondue starter. The Rosemary was a wonderful addition. We had the duck and steelhead and all enjoyed our entrees. The wine flights are nice pours and a great way to taste their wines. The second evening we shared a few of their pizzas. Delicious thin crust and it was fun to watch the chef prepare the dough in the open kitchen. Valerie was an excellent server each night! July 3, 2012 - stopped here after it was recommended and the only place in to eat. The restaurant was completely empty except for the two people we joined. We asked to move a table and join them and were seated. A female staff member told us to MOVE and that we were in the way! There was not another person in the restaurant. A friend and I went there to have dinner, there were plenty (at least 5-10) of open tables outside, and the hostess said "sorry, not enough room tonight"! I have never been told "no" at a restaurant. Wine and food - great. Management and staff were weird. We ate and drank for maybe 40 minutes. 10 minutes after the bill was paid, we were asked to leave for a group who made reservations. The 5 of us were already packed into a 4-person table, and there were plenty of other 4-person tables available. So instead of seating this reservation group at another empty 4-person table, they were very adamant about kicking us out specifically. We were not loud or obnoxious. Strange and slightly rude method of accommodating a non-paying group over one that was quiet and tipped generously. Didn't feel welcome there... Up your game, friends. And be more explicit about why kicking out paying customers is better than sitting reservations at other empty tables. read more

My partner and I had a great meal here last night. He had the apple and blue cheese pizza and the black bean soup. He liked both items although he noted that the soup was not much more than room temperature. I had the pork loin chop. It was very well prepared and quite tasty. We really enjoyed the evening. We had dinner at Wine O'Clock while in Prosser, WA for an event. Normally I eat vegetarian with the occasional fish. But we had been driving for two days to get there and I was really hungry for something other than a handful of nuts or power bar. So I ordered the flatiron steak, but in the petite portion, and it was out of this world fabulous! It was cooked to perfection, medium rare, which seems to be often misunderstood in most kitchens but not here. My husband had the touted pear bacon pizza and loved that as well. I went to Prosser's Vintners Village thinking it would be a wonderful experience. Aside from the commercial aspect and the fact it the whole area seemed like some manufactured home neighborhood, I went to Wine O'Clock upon suggestion. While my server was very friendly, I was told to stay in the lobby to taste some wines instead of being given a table or more friendly place to sit. I paid a mere $5 for 4 half glasses of wine but the whole experience seemed rather impersonal and the server was not able to share about each of the wines. Rather disappointing. read more

We had dinner at Wine O'Clock after a day of birthday wine tasting on 5/8/15. I cannot rave enough about this place. The whole time we were there I felt as though we were having a cozy, inviting dinner at someone's home. The open floor plan including the kitchen lends to a great ambience while dining. We had a new waiter named Dillon who was so much fun! Our group likes to joke around and he picked up on it right away and added to the light mood. Thanks, Dillon! Our bunch shared a bottle of pinot gris and ordered both the sweet and savory pizza along with the meat version which were both insanely delicious! A nice touch is they provide a small sampling of additional toppings to add for an extra zing. For an appetizer we had the goat cheese fondue. I'm normally not a goat cheese person but the combination of flavors with the grilled bread and fruit to dip was so well done I couldn't resist and it didn't last long on our table. We finished the meal with their coconut creme brûlée and I can't describe how unique and amazing it was. Totally recommend it. Overall, I wish this restaurant was near my home in Oregon so we could visit every week! It is a MUST go when in Prosser. You won't be disappointed. read more

Beautiful setting and lovely decor in this place. Has my favorite table set up, it feels intimate, but the tables are far enough apart to give you a sense of privacy. The smell of delicious steak greeted us at the entrance and the glow of the wood fired pizza oven. The service on a saturday night was sadly poor. There aren't that many tables but the young staff was probably inexperienced. We got our wine and food promptly but trying to get pepper or salt took quite a while. The grilled romaine salad was delicious. The steak, although overdone, was tasty. Oddly, for a place known for pizza, I found their wood fired italian pizza, version of a margarita, not very good. The sauce was nice, but the dough just was tasteless. Other than that, we did have a nice time and really enjoyed ourselves. This is the nicest restaurant in Prosser, so if you are staying there, it's a great choice. read more

Only downfall was I ordered one of their pizzas and asked for it meatless and it came out with bacon on it but they offered to make me a new one right away. Chef stepped up to the plate for a great Vegan accomodation for appetizer, entree, and desert. Ordered the three glass "flight" wine tasting (drinking really). Third course was two slices of tomato, 3 not fully cooked boiled potatoes and a tough pan fried steak. Next course was a flatbread pizza with runny cheese and canned mushrooms... Big whoop, it was fire oven roasted. Two bites and that was enough to know it wasn't going to be finished. Reservations at 7:30 and at 9 pm, still waiting for some unknown dessert. Add that they close at nine and we went through a shift change during the meal, it's likely we won't get the last course. Oh, wait... It finally made it. But... totally not worth the wait. Two stars... The wine was good. Think twice if you want one, good food and two, you have time to absolutely blow due to the long wait!!! read more
