i really like this place! i hadn't been to a dentist since before covid happened and i had my son,…read moreabout 2 and a half years ago. they didn't make me feel bad about it and established a care plan i was comfortable with. i had to get some periodontal cleaning done , since my gums were bothering me and i have a history of gingivitis . they took my health insurance (united concordia) and i only had to pay $65 out of pocket. the first time I went for the initial exam , I had a panic attack. the staff did not make me feel bad at all, they brought me water and waited until I was comfortable to move forward . They were all very comforting in my time of need. The second time I went back, i got my procedure done. they numbed me and I had no issues. I am going back this week for a routine cleaning. They all have gentle hands and great personalities. I now no longer have to go to the dentist in fear because I know I am in good hands.

They started by removing four crowns on my right side and placing temporary caps. I was told I might have pain in my upper right molar and may need a root canal, but instead my lower right molar caused severe pain. The pain was so bad I could not sleep for about a week. When I contacted the office, I was prescribed antibiotics and pain medication, but I did not feel comfortable returning. I later went to another dental office because the pain was unbearable. That office performed a root canal and helped address the issue. I also asked that office whether the crowns on my left side needed to be replaced, and they told me no. I then sought another opinion from a third dental office, and they also said the crowns on my left side did not need to be replaced. Based on my experience, I am very concerned about the recommendation to replace all eight crowns and the amount of pain I experienced after the work began. I have never experienced that level of dental pain before. I would strongly recommend that anyone receiving a major treatment plan here get a second opinion before moving forward, especially for extensive crown replacement.

I was told we would be seen at the same time and willing changed my arrival time because of this. When I did arrive I was told we wouldn't, in fact, be seen together. Not only were we not going to be seen together, there was no dentist on the premesis. I only found that out because I overheard a conversation the receptionist was having with another patient on the phone. When I asked why we weren't told we wouldn't have exams, she said that patients don't always get exams during their cleaning. I told her this wasn't true because we had always been seen by a dentist for our six month cleaning the three and a half years we'd been going. Another woman confirmed that to be the standard (a dentist's exam) and told me I could come back for a free cleaning and exam when the dentist was in, but the next appointment wouldn't be for another 4 months. Basically the same time I would need to return for my next cleaning. I will NOT be returning to this practice. There's no reason to mislead loyal patients, nor to lie to them when you've been caught doing so. This practice has done this a handful of times eith various things and our last visit was the last straw. They'll try to tell you you only need to have a dental exam every year, but that only seems to apply when you call them out for a dentist not being there. The practice had a change of dentists and never bothered to let their patients know Fossum was leaving. All around they just seem shady. I don't even want to think about the hassle they'll give me when I attempt to get our dental records. I will no longer recommend this practice either.

I spoke to the front desk clerk and she claimed to not have taken the call. I explained what happened and what should have been a simple fix, the tooth wasn't broken Just a veneer that came out. It was just excuses as to why I couldn't be seen, what is the purpose of saying you treat emergencies if you can only see you doctor......and then they are not there. But the worst thing is for the receptionist to tell me "well you can always wear a mask" and laughed. How does that constitute care and concern, is that what good customer service is to your facility? Horrible, inconvenient, and not patient friendly!

The receptionist and the check out clerk were kind, friendly and informative. They contacted and had everything ready for my insurance claim. But the most kiddos goes to Brittany, the hygienist. This was the most thorough x-rays, exam and cleaning I've had in a long time. She was so sweet. She listened to this old woman prattle on. I did stop while the cleaning was being done. My teeth haven't felt cleaner in a long time. I must confess it's been four years since seeing a dental hygienist and I've had some good ones, but Brittany is up there with the best. I highly recommend this clean, well taken care of office and the staff!
