When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.

What a magical place! I brought my 84 year old Mom to see the goats and she had such a good time…read morethat I brought my adult kids back with me. Marshmellow, the Llama, was a hit! My Mom sang to the donkey. There were little goats being born while we were there in the barn. The bunnies were the highlight of my kids' trip. I then went back for Goat Yoga. OMG!!! This made my year! I had a blast. Not sure how much yoga I got done because I was soooo focused on the friendly goats. My favs were Elsie and Fudge. Then I was talking to Susan, one of the owners, about flowers for my daughter's wedding - she was so sweet, she let me cut a bunch from her own garden and didn't even charge me! Iron Ponytail Farm made our daughter's birthday amazing. It wasn't just a quick "lesson" with a few…read morelaps around the riding arena. They gave a full experience-taught grooming, how to mount, and different types of riding. It really gave our daughter a feeling of responsibility and accomplishment on top of a great time riding. The staff was incredible; they took their time, explained every step, and really made an effort to connect with her and her friend. I would highly recommend this little farm as go-to for anyone considering a birthday experience or for riding lessons. We look forward to many more lessons while stationed here.

My son has been part of the IPF family since July 2021. I say family because that is what it feels…read morelike there. The owner and all of the working students are kind and compassionate, and their love of the animals shines through in everything they do...right down to "baby proofing" the farm for a foal they are expecting soon. They take the time to get to know their students and their families. My son is now a working student at IPF, and the values they are teaching him about hard work, compassion, confidence and generally just being a good human shine through in every aspect of the person he is growing into. I couldn't be prouder of my son for what he does there, and it is truly an honor that IPF has welcomed him and all of us into their heard. Thank you, IPF!
