They need new & better help here. Unfortunately this place fell super short to me, even though the optometrist is very kind, the lady at front desk seems very overwhelmed and very unfriendly and professional. Every time I would call, she would get so confused and would tell me to "WAIT!", because she's trying to figure out what I needed when I'm trying to tell her. Anywho, I went here with my daughter to get our eyes checked and up to date, everything was fine but the optometrist seemed to have trouble getting the correct prescription for me. I received my glasses the first time and the prescription were SO off, it felt like my eyes were getting cross eyed because they were so thick and off. I know I'm not THAT blind. Okay, no problem, I dropped off the glasses and they said they will fix it for me, I didn't receive any calls, I actually forgot about my glasses until one day something clicked (around 6 months later), the receptionist said they have it for me, like girrrl, why didn't you call me to let me know? Anyhow, I moved already and had my dad - who lives in Sacramento still to pick it up for me. Let's see if the glasses are correct this time. But I wouldn't be coming back, they need a new receptionist. read more

Great staff and Rita is a friendly person. Only reason gave a 3 star is that is just a matter of waiting too long on my fathers eyeglasses it's been already 1 month been waiting for it. We was there Oct. 1 and Now it's Nov. 3 not unless they didn't send it out on time to their warehouse which I know we are in a pandemic with being late delayed but least let us know what's going on why this taking so long and we are getting inpatient. Just doesn't take that long for the glass to put into our own frame. I keep calling to check up on it and all I get a respond back is still not here. This was THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! 1) I was seen by Dr. Wing, who just filled out His paperwork without giving a full exam, e.g. My benefits covered routine eye exam, including: dialation of pupils; vision check and contact lens fitting. Dr. Wing insisted I get eyeglasses now and Wait until next year to get contacts???? I explained my benefits covered BOTH within one calendar year. I further informed Dr. Wing contacts are my preference. I was not given prescription? Why not?? All to say, I am now in the 'appeal' process which takes 30 days. Dr. Wing's unprofessional exam and false accusations has caused me to loose my 2019 vision benefits: I was not given a prescription to take an in-network provider. ***His office is in low income neighborhood (mine) and He presumes You cannot count pass 10 If You are a person of color; differently-abled, and educated DO NOT GO TO DR. WING. You WILL NOT BE SATISFIED if You are accustomed to 5-star excellence. I called the office trying to make an appointment for my mother, they told me I had to do a walk-in for new patients because they had to check the insurance. I went in a few hours later. The receptionists were unorganized and they couldn't verify any information for my mother but scheduled an appointment anyway. When my mother went in for her appointment, they couldn't find her information yet again. She ended up getting her exam and purchased new glasses that were high priced. She walked away with no receipt and here we are 3 weeks later with no glasses. I called for a check up and the receptionist still couldn't find her information. Unorganized and unfriendly. I had been going to the practice for years when I was younger but refuse to go there now due to the rude receptionist. It's unfortunate that so many people have complained about the same issue and you can clearly see the reviews are telling the same story but the office refuses to make any changes. I called the office recently after so many years to get a copy of an RX only to have the same rude receptionist take my call. Customer service doesn't mean anything to them and I would not waste my time supporting a business that allows their staff to talk and treat their customers in a rude, demeaning way. I have been a customer of Drs. Wing and Mar on Mack Road for over 15 years. With insurance, I have several options for my optometry services. I wouldn't trade the experience of the doctors and friendly staff for anything. Rita, who has been with the doctors for all of these years, is not only highly trained and skilled in what she does, but is very compassionate and friendly. She puts in the time needed to be sure that I, the customer, am totally satisfied. Without additional charge, she fixes frames, replaces frame parts and makes sure the glasses are as ordered. Dr. Wing is excellent! However, the rude old Caucasian lady who looks like Cruella Deville that works in the front is absolutely rude with no customer service and is very snooty towards clients, she needs to be fired. I been a patient for years and watched her abuse towards customers for years and finally I had enough and will take my families dental services else where. She gets worse as the years go by. And she needs to be respectable to customers, that is a no brain-er. Not to mention the office location is not in the best of areas. This review is for the receptionist Rita. Dr. Wing is amazing and we have been going to him for 15 plus years- 5 stars for him. But Rita is horrible at customer service. We go and she's not wearing a mask so we told her to wear a mask while providing service and she starts getting mad telling us that's she's closed today. I told her I had called before coming in to pick up glasses, she said they are open Monday to Friday 8 am to 5pm and closed for lunch 12-130pm. We went to pick up glasses so she made few runs in and out to the door since she made us stand outside the door. 4 times she made the run and every time no mask. Before leaving I told her that it stays on the door "MASK REQUIRED FOR PROVIDING SERVICES" and that she should wear a mask before providing services. She got so mad and tone was high, she said I'm closed today, got mad and said she is refusing us to service and she will tell Dr. Wing. She shut the door on us. How horrible!!! Completely Pathetic. She's refusing services to us for us telling her to wear a mask. Horrible horrible service by Rita. Dr. Wing needs a better friendly professional receptionist! read more

Customer services is awful. I was in line listening to the receptionist, and she told a customer "that is what I just told you" in a very rude and condescending tone. Then the next day I called about my picking up my daughter's glasses and said I may be literally a min or so after 12:00 and the receptionists said sure we will be available if you can make it. I know this sound trivial but who needs to be spoken to like that and told good luck. Needless to say, I will be looking for a new doctor. Avoid if you do not like being talked down to or treated like they do not need your business. read more

The service here is the worst I've ever got in my 15 years of needing eye care/exams.. the doctor herself was really nice and very thorough. I had my exam a week before Halloween, as im walking out she tells me for the contact lens fitting she doesn't have my trials of lenses so we have to wait until those are in so to call around November 15th. I call around November 10th.. because it just seems like a long time anyway, call 15th nope nothing, call the 20th, nope, I asked the receptionist why I have to wait to get that prescription because I've never really had to wait I usually get contact lens prescription together with the glasses. I get trials too but I've never had to officially put them in and out in front of the eye doctor before like he said and that that's why we were waiting.. he said everywhere I go I have to do that same... BULLSHIT...so anyway I call Everyday and I get the same talk from the same male receptionist.. that the doctor was just talking about me and needed to call you? He couldn't even answer if he had trials for me... at all. I had to wait until doctor called me. I called evening of December 1st was put on hold for 10 mins before I hung up. Called one more time and was just sent to voicemail.. I'm sure the receptionist hates me by now and it was purposely. So this morning im calling and I realize why am I giving them this time of day. They don't take their clients seriously. It's going on a month and a half for a pair of trial lenses. I've never had to wait for trial lenses in my life. I usually get my prescription for both glasses and contacts same day.. I don't know how other reviewers looked passed the receptionist and their employees maybe doctors were nice I don't know but I'm going to another office I'm sure in a week I will have my prescription for both contacts/glasses and a trial pair elsewhere without having to wait because PROFESSIONAL FUCKING PLACES follow through with their clients.. and don't leave them hanging. read more

If I could add another star or two it would come closer to the experience I had with Dr. Wing. Everything about my experience there was great. The reception was relaxed and human, but also efficient. Dr. Wing immediately put me at ease with his relaxed style and friendly personality. He didn't try to push any thing and in fact, told me I could get by just fine with commercially available reading glasses, but he gave me a prescription if I wanted to go that route instead. Ooh, I regret coming here and spending over a 1400.00 on designer glasses that were the wrong prescription in the first place! These people gave me an eye exam then told told me that I needed three different sets of bifocals. One for reading. One for driving and one for computer. I really believed that I had failing eye sight. Their prescription glasses were quite blurred and gave me an awful headache. I gave up wearing them and settled for Costco over the counter glasses instead, witch were multitudes better. Discouraged at what I suspected might be a wrong prescriprion, My aunt referred me to Eyesight Vision Sacramento on 48th & J street and I was administered a correct eye sight exam. As it turns out, my vision is 20/ 24 and I see very well. I only needed reading glasses. How about that? An honest optometrist that gave me truthful news!! This other place needs to be reported to the BBB. I plan on doing that soon as time permits..We also had to get my son another eye exam also! Suffice to say, we no longer go near this place!! consumers beware of unethical business practices! Do not be fooled by these people.. read more

So disappointed in this place. Dr. Wing is an excellent doctor. He is friendly and gave me lots of information regarding my eyes and allergies. However, his staff is horrible. I have never experienced this lack of customer service anywhere else. They said my glasses would be ready within a week in a half. I have called 3 times in regards to my glasses whereabouts. All 3 times, all they told me was that it was delayed. The next time I called I left a message asking them to call the supplier and ask for an estimated date. I still have not gotten a call from them and it has been a week. I've waited a month and a half for my glasses and I think I have been pretty patient for not getting any type of customer service or answers from their part. Now I am in the process of calling my insurance and getting a refund. This is ridiculous. read more
