Barber cut way shorter than I asked and went in with clippers and texturizing scissors on my curls. Which I later found out, a barber who knows what they're doing should only use regular scissors for a cut like this because other tools ruin curls. I called the next day to ask for a manager in hopes to get a refund because this mess cost me $50 and supposedly the one who cut my hair was the manager. An even bigger red flag. They said they don't do refunds because the work is already done and I apparently didn't tell him how long I wanted it and "he always asks how long." Which he did not. However I did show him a photo of how long I wanted AND I told him I'd like it to still be long because I wear my hair long. But guess it's my fault somehow. There was nothing they were willing to do for me for their screw up except "fix it" for free. As if I'd let them touch my hair again. So sad.

Anyway I met a friend for lunch and complimented his noticeably sharp fresh haircut, and he convinced me to go see his "hair wizard" Emi. I walked in fairly certain I was about to spend more money for the same haircut I get from Sportclips, but was pleasantly surprised at the whole experience. At the front I was greeted and checked in and immediately offered an ice cold beer which garners points in my book. Emi came over and introduced herself and showed me the changing room where you get to leave your shirt on a hanger and wear one of their t-shirts during the haircut so you don't leave being microneedled by tiny hair clippings. Haircut started with a detailed back and forth about my hair and what I was looking for which felt better than the usual "what you want" from the budget shops. Emi offered what she called a "moment of relaxation" where she used essential oil and gives you a shoulder and neck massage before starting the haircut. 10/10 highly recommend doing this it feels great and doesn't cost extra. The actual haircut was very good, like I said I've never really cared about how my hair looked as long as it's not in my face, but I was quite impressed. It was very sharp, technically perfect, and now I'm spoiled by this whole thing. I can't recommend Emi and this shop enough, every man should give this a shot, even if you're like i was and thought this kind of thing was unnecessary. Turned a haircut from a chore into an enjoyable experience with great conversation.

Found him through Yelp and then messaged him on Instagram, and finally made my appointment. I loved all the work on his Instagram page and knew I was in good hands. I've been growing out a buzzcut. Which feels like it's taken forever lol I'm currently at a pixie length and have been feeling like my hair needed some layers, texture and some TLC. I was basically rocking a helmet head hahaha I went to Justin and told him my hair goals of texture and irregular razored bangs. It took me the longest time to find the right inspiration photo to portray what I was envisioning. I showed Justin the photo and he told me my hair was shorter than hers, but he could get close. This is different. They really do have a very clear system and use it. Super impressed with the shop. Been there a couple times in a row. Never had the same employee, but always get a consistently good haircut without having to explain it each time. They already know. They have all the pictures up, and they're ready.
