Took the family up for a ride when we were in Kauai last week. We had Marcus as our pilot and he was very comforting as a couple of my family members were not comfortable with small plane flying. By far one of thee biggest highlights of our trip during the summer. Our pilot was incredible, he gave us such an informative tour. The views really were breathtaking, I would have posted more but then that would take away the fun of experiencing this yourself. We wanted to see the island but also didn't want to break the bank for a family of 4 to take a helicopter ride. This was affordable, safe, well air ventilated and prepared for anything that could go wrong. Even though my 5 year old did fall asleep. She still naps, so really it felt like a sound machine for her with all the noise (I don't blame her) and that shows how relaxing the whole tour was for us. Our tour was about 60- ish minutes. It was just the right amount to take with young kids, they do have a longer version but I'm glad with the one we chose. You need to come at least 30 min before to prep and then off you go! Had a great flight with WOK. My only complainant would not be Wings fault as the trip was very overcast and poor visibility for most of the flight. The ground crew and pilot were both awesome. Easy to get to from the cruise port. Just make sure to check both ride share sites. U we wants 50 one way and Lyft was 8. The value for the flight was perfect best 150 spent. While in Kauai, my wife and I wanted to experience an aerial tour of the island. Most of the helicopter tours were fairly expensive, but Wings Over Kauai offered a thorough tour at a much more reasonable price, and it was absolutely worth it. Cade, our pilot, flew us over nearly the entire island while narrating the experience the whole way through. He made sure to point out some of the island's most beautiful locations, shared interesting history about Kauai, and even talked about some of his own aspirations and experiences, which made the tour feel even more personal. He was an excellent pilot, and the plane itself was really fun and unique to fly in. Excursion my husband chose & boy what a treat. Checked in & they go over safety guidelines. They snapped a few photos for us with the airplane. The plane was comfy & headphones worked great to muffle out noise & you can hear pilot & other passengers well. Pilot Marcus was great at explaining what he was doing at all times & described what we were seeing. He flew over island. The scenery was epic. Saw the Grand Canyon of Kauai, waterfalls you don't see otherwise, Nepali coast, the amazing green mountains & all the beaches. We were in the air for about an hour. What an amazing and unforgettable experience!! I took a day trip from Oahu just to fly with them! Everything was smooth from booking to check in to the flight. Brooke and Captain Matt are both incredibly nice and conversant, explaining the sites and interesting factoids along the way. This is a must do excursion! Highly recommend! We did our flight on Easter Sunday 2025. This was our first time flying in a small plane so we were apprehensive. The seats were comfortable and we both had window seats. We had a smooth and amazing flight with our pilot Geoff. Geoff was so knowledgeable while providing interesting facts about the island and described points of interest along our flight path. It was incredible to see the island as most of Kauai is inaccessible by car. Flying over Waimea Canyon and the Nāpali Coast was awesome and breathtaking. We purchased the video of our flight, which included his narration and our conversations set with beautiful Hawaiian music. What an amazing experience! From check in to flight we could not recommend this company enough! We had 2 fearful flyers ( I don't like heights or small spaces) and we were made to feel relaxed, comfortable and safe the entire ride. The entire ride is explained to you at the desk, you're offered cute props to use for pics in front of the plain and they take the pics with your phone for free. Our pilot was SO nice and checked in on me the whole time to make sure I was ok and took the smoothest route possible to ensure there was no turbulence for us. The view was absolutely breathtaking and we were given details and facts for all the areas of the island. Did I mention this is muck less than the helicopter rides as well? WOW! Just WOW! Our flight with Wings Over Kauai is one of the activities I was most looking forward to on our trip, and it totally delivered! It was truly the most magical and breathtaking experience of my life. I know there are many options for seeing Kauai by air, including both helicopters and small airplanes, but let me convince you that Wings Over Kauai is the way to go. 1) The tour lasts about 1 hour and allows you to see more of the island that the helicopters, which usually skip the south shore on their flights. 2) There are no middle seats! This guarantees that everyone on the plane will get a window seat, and if the plane isn't at full capacity (our plane was max 6 passengers), then everyone is seated on the right which is the best view on the tour. 3) The cost is about half the cost of the helicopters. Let me repeat that, it costs about half of what the helicopters charge! 4) They have GoPro cameras attached to each wing and one inside the plane which record the flight. You can purchase an edited video of your actual flight which is 100% worth it IMO! 5) Our pilot was Marcus and he was absolutely fantastic! He is a birder, like my sister, and before our flight he even wrote down tips on where to see birds on the island. He did an incredible job narrating throughout our flight, and the flight itself was incredibly smooth and comfortable. Marcus truly went above and beyond and made our experience even better than I could have imagined. 6) If you are prone to motion sickness, often times the small planes can provide a smoother flight with less rapid changes in motion than helicopters. 7) I actually prefer that the plane flies a bit higher and provides a better panorama and wider shots than helicopters that fly closer to the terrain. If you have a camera with a good zoom lens, you can still get really nice close up shots! 8) Did I mention it's about half the price of the helicopters? read more

As it turns out, our pilot was from the same part of Denver that we are from, and my pilot-in-training brother and he had an uproarious time sharing experiences. The island is sumptuous from the air. The weather was perfect for Cessna flying, and we took full advantage of it. This hour-long tour is a great way to get an overview of Kaua'i's coastal and inland areas, and plan where you want to explore further. Travis's stories about the historical/cultural significance of each place really heightened our appreciation for the island and its people. The biggest highlight was flying past the Mount Wai'ale'ale Crater, a truly dramatic, steep-walled basin at the top of one of the world's wettest spots. Wings Over Kauai offered an experience I will never forget and it was one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Kauai. I have champagne taste on a beer budget which meant that my dream of a doors off helicopter tour were out of the picture. However, Wings Over Kauai offers a comparable experience for half the cost. I recommend booking this early in the trip as Kauai weather can be unpredictable and our flight had to be rescheduled while we were there. Luckily, the day we rescheduled to was a beautiful, clear day after a rainstorm when we could see all the waterfalls at full force. I wish I remembered our pilot's name but he's the owner of the operation and we actually got a slightly extended tour as it was such a beautiful day. I will say though that I did start fighting for my life a little towards the end because of my motion sickness so if you're prone to that, I recommend a Dramamine! read more

You get to go to all the great spots without the added time to get there or run into any obstacles from viewing the sites.
