Amazing we were able to ride the helicopter on Thursday 3/12/26 on the few hours of sunny weather it rained most of the week, they were excellent on safety they would not fly on bad weather/high winds and safety checks was thorough. We were able to finish the hour ride but when we landed it was pouring rain and we were the last ride to go up that day. Chose open door to ride, I took beautiful pictures

Worth every penny, this was by far the coolest thing i've ever done. Been to Kauai 3x, and this was my first time doing the Helicopter tour of Na Pali and the island, and describing it as breathtaking doesn't even do it justice. The staff at Jack Harter were so helpful and informative, and genuinely loved what they do. I also loved how our pilot narrated the tour, telling us everything we needed to know about the island, from movies, and historical context to the islands geography.

From the front desk to the pilot, this experience was top notch five stars. They took every safety precaution very seriously and WOW what an amazing view/views! Will be returning again soon! Thank you Jack Harter Helicopters!

Start to finish, this was an excellent experience with great customer service. I made a reservation months before our trip, communicate with the staff via WhatsApp. They were very helpful in discussing tour options for my husband and I. We decided to book a private adventure for the two of us, because during a previous helicopter tour experience we were both in seats where we couldn't see as well or get the photos we were hoping for. On the day of the tour, there was a driver there at the cruise pier waiting for us with a sign at the designated time. A short drive to their office, where we got weighed in (numbers are not said out loud or visible to anyone other than the staff) and a safety briefing. Compared to my previous helicopter tour experience, this was extremely well-organized, efficient, and low-stress. Great job! We hopped in another shuttle to head over to the airport, and it wasn't long before we were in aircraft and launching away from ground! I'm glad the first 10 minutes of the ride wasn't the most scenic part, because it did take me that time to get comfortable with the fact that I was completely open to the world below with just a standard seat belt keeping me from falling away! (They take safety VERY seriously - this was just in my own head!) Once I got past my fears, I was able to enjoy the views and they were indeed stunning. Our pilot was fantastic and gave a great balance of tour-guide knowledge and staying quiet to allow us to take it all in! I did struggle to use the headset microphone once we were in the air - I feel confident it was a user error combined with the wind of the open door. For weight balance purposes, my husband was sat in the front seat and I was in the back, and I only wish physics would have allowed us to have set next to each other on this amazing adventure! After landing, we were shuttled back to the office, and not long after, shuttled back to the cruise ship terminal. Everything ran exactly on-schedule and smoothly - kudos to whomever is running their operations and logistics! Tips: don't forget sunglasses (like I did) because you will really need them to block the wind if you are doing an open-door tour. Wear layers, as it does indeed get cold at altitude. Remember that you can't bring much of anything with you in the aircraft. The staff helped zip-tie our phones, so don't feel like you need to bring your own strap to bring your phone for photos. Highly recommend - this is something I will remember forever!

We have been to Kauai twice in the last few years and have wanted to do the helicopter ride finally we were brave enough to make the call and book the adventure and we're so glad we did! After researching a bit, we discovered that Jack Harter has been in business over 58 years and came highly recommended. We concur with the other reviews that Jack Harter was a very professional experience from the informational staff on the phone to the courteous shuttle drivers who picked us up at our hotel to our seasoned pilot, Nick who knew the islands well and was an excellent guide, trying to get us the best pictures and views of the island. We lucked out this day and the weather really cooperated giving us great views of even Waimea canyon that is usually fogged in. I think the timeframe matters I would suggest going later in the day as sometimes early in the morning it is foggy - we had a 2 PM flight. The flight is still windy, and the only dislike (other than the initial nerves of getting on the helicopter!) of this trip was that it was hard to hear our pilot as there was a lot of interference and noise, but we were able to see fantasy Island and Jurassic Park waterfalls beautifully, and the most epic views of the Napali coast! We would do this exhilarating trip again!

One of the best trip and life experiences I've ever had. My husband, son and I were slightly apprehensive yet excited, and we were beyond thrilled. Our pilot, Preston, was such a delight: a wonderful guide who made us feel safe & informed, as well as provide jokes and history along the way. We saw incredible views: waterfalls (especially the Jurassic Park one), trails, the Nepali coast, the "Grand Canyon" of Hawai'i, and more. When we arrived at a target location, Preston would skillfully maneuver the helicopter so that all riders could get a great view of the location.

If you are planning on booking with this company please keep in mind that the seating assignment on the helicopter is based on your weight. If you weigh the least you will automatically be assigned the front middle seat next to the pilot and someone else. I booked this helicopter tour for my birthday thinking I would be getting a "doors off" experience but it was far from that. I had a restricted view due to the instrument panel of the helicopter. There was not much room to move left or right to get the view everyone else on the helicopter had due to me being pinned in the middle. So I was basically stuck with the view of the instrument panel during the duration of the tour. Had I known prior to booking that the person who weighs the least would be automatically seated in the middle I would have never booked with this company and booked with another company that allows you to pick your seat. I have inserted photos of my view during the helicopter tour for reference. Overall very disappointed.

What an experience. Doors off, once in a lifetime. Pilot Chrissy, flight attendant Jason and Anne kept us safe and help create epic core memories. Mahalo!

We had an amazing flight with Arthur! It was a bit windy and rainy but you wouldn't have known it from the flight! So smooth and beautifully surreal. Definitely a must do if you visit Kauai!!

This is my second time flying with Jack Harter. I believe they are the best tour in Kauai. Especially with doors off. Who wants doors when you can have an unobstructed view? Yes, it's a little windy, but that's the amazing part. We had an excellent female marine pilot whose expertise shows. The flight was unbelievable and smooth... and she plays great music during the flight. The view from Kauai from above can't give you a better perspective of the island.. especially the Nepali coast. Just breathtaking! Don't hesitate to book this tour if you are on the island!

    Brandon M.

Preston was an awesome pilot that had a lot of amazing info along with a great sense of humor! That guy showed us how truly amazing the entire island of Kauai is on a trip we won't forget. Amazing people from the time we arrived until we left, I will definitely be back! Oh, and I missed the step on the way out of the chopper and managed to only scrape my shins because a very strong Viking guy on the flight line caught my clumsy self on the way down. Dude probably saved me from $5k in dental work on top of the shins, so whoever you were, thank you my friend!

    Nicole D.

If you're thinking about it, just do it! I was nervous to book, but this was genuinely one of the coolest experiences of my life. My husband and I opted for the doors off helicopter ride which seats 4 people. There isn't a bad seat on the helicopter as two people are sat in the front next to the pilot and two are sat in the back. We saw farmland, canyons, the Na Pali coast, and because the weather conditions were optimal, we even flew through a volcano crater with tens of waterfalls surrounding us. Everyone who worked here was so kind and helpful, and our pilot, Nick, made our experience amazing. He was a true professional and his calm and positive demeanor helped us feel safe. He gave us a thorough history and explanation of all our views during the flight. We felt like we were in good hands, and we got the most out of our experience thanks to him! I have no complaints and would recommend this tour to anyone considering a helicopter ride in Kauai.

    Diana D.

Wow! My 65th birthday & my first time on a doors off flight. Our pilot (Anthony?) was amazing. Exhilarating experience & I'm terrified of heights. I had originally booked the doors on tour & was so very glad I changed to doors off. All of the staff & ground crew were wonderful; I would highly recommend flying Jack Harter!

Are the helicopter tours "rain or shine" flyers? We want to book a tour, but the forecast for our trip is rain everyday on Kauai...just curious?
