The wings were delicious and my take out order was Served timely. The restaurant wasn't as clean as I I would have expected.

I dine here frequently.. Most of the time I have Great service and food.. but every now and again,…read morethere maybe a kitchen issue, but the servers / Management always make things right.... This is a great place for Daily / Monthly specials, and I appreciate they offer a Veterans discount. Also. If you are diet conscious .. many good flavorful Options, like a fresh Salad with a side of lean meat, or if doing a paleo diet, you can just order (any of the meats) by the pound, Half, and Quarter. Always has Great ice Tea..

We headed to the one in Orange City vs Deland as it's closer even though Deland has been our go to. One waitress (not ours) was great, she was chatty and we laughed about one of the sports on the TVs. Ours was kind enough but she didn't even come to check on us till we were nearly done eating. It was pretty dead but we thought nothin of it. The Cherry Lemonade they have is out of this world and I could drink it by the gallon. My wife got the brisket sandwich with green beans. The meat was all gristle, super salty and didn't even cover the bun. The beans were tasty but very mushy. I got the 2 meat choosing smoked pork which I got sliced and the St Louis ribs. The ribs were near perfect, the meat came right off the bone, every last bit of it but it was a tiny bit on the dry side. The pork was 95% fat there was nearly no meat to be spoken of, I can't even fathom how awful it would've looked had I chosen pulled. My sides were the BBQ beans which were smokey, thick and outstanding. The dirty rice was a question in what the heck were they thinking. Never have I ever in 55 years seen corn kernels in dirty rice and I'm accustomed to there being ground meat not chunks of sausage and I don't know what type of sausage they were using but there was something almost sweet and a lil bit tangy to it which thoroughly threw everything off balance and the rice was thick and chewy. Looking at the reviews here on Yelp, guess we should've stayed with the one in Deland. With all the choices of BBQ around here Sonny's in permanently out of rotation after this.

For a pizza snob who grew up on the New York standard and graduated to the "best on the planet" New…read moreHaven brick oven, finding a decent slice in Florida is usually a lost cause. But Goodfella's Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant in DeBary is the real deal--it is hands down the best pizza I have had in Florida. While it's not quite a New Haven coal-fired pie, the crust has that essential chew and the toppings are actually fresh, which is a rarity down here. They use high-quality Grande cheese and you can tell the dough isn't just an afterthought. Living in Volusia, I'm just thankful this is in my backyard so I don't have to settle for the "wack" options or the chains. This place is a class act that actually respects the craft; they seriously need more locations because Florida is starving for pizza this good.

Someone needs to take control of this place…read more Our first visit was great. The food was well done, the experience was good, and you earned our business enough to convince us to come back. Then came visit number two. We should have turned around the moment we walked in. Not a soul in sight. Employees dressed like they had wandered in off the street. No professionalism, no urgency, no hospitality, and apparently no standards. Let's start with the one thing this place gets right: the food is very good. Whoever is cooking clearly knows how to put out good food. Unfortunately, it wasn't until afterward that we noticed the condition of the kitchen--and that completely changed how we felt about what we had just eaten. The kitchen looked extremely dirty. We could see cooks with dirty-looking rags sitting in the same areas where food was being prepared, and the kitchen vent was beyond filthy. Not a little grease from a busy shift--this looked like something that had been neglected. We didn't know until AFTER! That is unacceptable in a restaurant. If the areas customers can see look like that, it immediately raises questions about the sanitation standards in the areas we can't see. Now the bar. You cannot advertise a FULL BAR when half the inventory is unavailable and I have to explain to the person behind the bar how to make my drink. That's not a full bar. That's a liquor shelf with a confidence problem. Then there's the service. Our waitress looked like she had 47 other places she would rather be. If customers feel like they're inconveniencing the person being paid to serve them, you have a serious hospitality problem. And for the love of restaurant standards--get uniforms. I'm not asking for tuxedos. A clean, consistent dress code would immediately make this place look like an actual establishment instead of a group of people who happened to show up at the same building. The gentleman at the front was friendly enough to acknowledge us, so credit where it's due. But dude--pull your hair back. You work around food. Especially after seeing the condition of that kitchen, basic sanitation and presentation need to become a priority. At one point I genuinely couldn't tell whether I was eating dinner at a nightclub or watching a low-budget episode of The Sopranos. And that's what makes this so frustrating. You have good food. The hardest part is already there. But good food cannot save a restaurant with a visibly dirty kitchen, sloppy presentation, disengaged service, an unprepared bar, and zero visible leadership. The first visit made us want to come back. The second visit made us wonder who the hell was running the place.
