Everything was fine until I looked at my six piece and I had four pieces of chicken the rest was crumbs.

The fries were not crispy. The boneless chicken wings were barely coated in sauce and the corn was not good quality.

This is a MUST TRY in St Paul. I stumbled upon it on a random weekday, and I don't think I'll ever…read morego anywhere else when I'm craving Mexican food (or waffle fries!). Since it was my first time, I asked for recommendations and got the combo (two tacos, two sides, and a drink). 〰The tacos: Tried the chicken and al pastor. I couldn't decide which one I liked best. It was all delicious. 〰The sides: The apple cabbage salad was a delightful surprise of flavors, and the waffle fries even beat my favorite burger joint. 〰The drink: The limocito is lemonade with fresh mint in it and it's refreshing, crisp, and not overly sweet. I don't even like lemonade and I crave this drink often. 〰The quesadilla: My friend ordered this and it's huge! It was dripping with melted cheese, which is the only way to have a quesadilla. The restaurant has a really cool vibe, colorful decor, and a mustache theme throughout the restaurant. Not only do some of the staff have amazing mustaches themselves, there are little mustaches all over the restaurant, which I found cute and playful. It's counter service with a self-serve setup on the side for an array of hot sauces, silverware, and napkins. The staff are out in the dining room clearing plates and checking on guests, and the whole place is impeccably clean. I really think this spot is perfect if you want to just hop in for a quick solo lunch or meet friends for a long catch-up dinner. I've worked in the restaurant industry on and off for over 20 years, so I can't help but notice the details (both good or bad) when I go out. It truly is all the little things that add up to a fantastic experience from start to finish, and this place has it all.

We were oooing and awwing over that and he comes back with an asada sample! Dudes such a unique flavor for Mexican cuisine , so tender juicy and flavorful. We ordered the sushi burrito, quesadilla, the loaded fries and the chilaquiles burger. The quesadilla while delicious was basic - go for the crazy menu items because they were off the chain. The flavor, the thought, the intention in the meals was all there! You won't be disappointed.

They also offer pull tabs, a weekend brunch, and have live music on occasion. The food selection has something for everyone, my personal favorite is the turkey club. I really enjoy their waffle fries, and not pictured, but the BLVD Fries with bleu cheese, bacon and chives are really good, too. Their cheese curds are also really good. The only thing I haven't loved is the seasoned sour cream. It is a little too salty for my taste.

I've always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, which is why it's so frustrating to be writing this. A visit in May left me feeling disappointed -- not just because of the issue itself, but because of how it was handled. During that visit, the fly problem was overwhelming. It was difficult to enjoy the meal while constantly swatting flies away, and we even had to cover our food with napkins just to keep them off our plates. It felt unsanitary and uninviting. I understand that flies can be hard to manage in open-air spaces, but when they're this pervasive -- including in the lobby and the areas where food is being prepared -- it becomes a serious concern. In response to my feedback, I was told that "the kitchen is up to code and that the restaurant recently passed a health inspection". I don't doubt that's true, but it doesn't address the core issue I brought up. You can't fully control flies when windows and doors are left open -- but that also means you can't fully prevent hundreds of flies from entering spaces where food is being handled. That's a problem. I've thought about this a lot in the time since, and what ultimately pushed me to write this review is the complete lack of follow-up. No additional response, no real acknowledgment, and frankly, what felt like a lack of genuine care. My concerns didn't feel heard -- they felt dismissed. I truly want to continue supporting The BLVD, but unless this ongoing issue is taken seriously and addressed, I don't see myself returning. If customers are having to cover their food with napkins just to keep it fly-free, you'd hope the restaurant would offer some kind of resolution or incentive to maintain customer retention. Cleanliness and customer care should be a top priority -- and right now, neither one seems to be.

This is located in a neighborhood with a small parking lot or free parking in the neighborhood. There is a small patio and a few tables and chairs on the inside. I would plan on taking your food to go. The vibes are classic and there are a bunch of fun pictures from Minnesota history! My boys enjoyed looking at those! The service here was extremely friendly and laid back. Kind of like having family cook your meal! That's a hard vibe to find these days! The food: We got the rib and chicken dinner. The chicken was fried golden(this is pressure cooked in oil) made for a nice flavor. I wouldn't say it knocked my socks off but definitely solid pieces of chicken. I am here to rave about the ribs!! Oh my gosh!!! The bones just fell out! The meat was so tender and the BBQ had the perfect about of sweetness!! I will for sure be back for the ribs!!! The mashed potatoes were ok. Next time I would get the fries. We also had the chicken wings plain. Again, nothing over the top special. Did I mention how good those ribs were!? Haha we ended with some mini donuts which were your standard mini donut but were delicious! This place is definitely worth a try!!

Store is a bit small inside but there are outside seatings as well!

Our first meal on our most recent trip to Minnesota: The Nook, promised by some as the best Juicy…read moreLucys in the Twin Cities. We walked in for a pretty late dinner, slightly past 8PM and this place was still crowded. Ten minute wait for a table, the concierge said, but there were free seats at the bar either downstairs or up. We decided to walk down to the bowling alley (a fully functioning, retro alley might I add), and order at the bar. Nook Curds ($13.75) - It's a big basket of battered and fried cheese curds. There's bacon mixed in the batter, giving that smoky and salty, meaty element, and then drizzled honey for some very complementary sweetness. The batter is lightly crisp and the cheese curds inside are completely softened, to the point of being gooey and stretchy. Definitely no squeak here, but these were so delicious that I didn't particularly care. (5/5) Juicy Nookie Burger ($15.95) - Now that's a burger. Huge patty, completely filled with a large pocket of hot, melty, gooey, stretchy American cheese that gushes out while biting through the patty. It's decadent and rich, and that patty - charred so well, giving a robustly smoky charred flavor along with a strong natural beefiness, a result of the patty only being cooked until medium pink. Somehow even with so much cheese stuffed inside, it doesn't leak out at all. It's a pretty simple burger, with just that patty, three pickle rounds on the side, and a bun. The bun is buttered and barely toasted, just enough to give a hint of toastiness and hold up to the massive patty. It cradles the beef like a baby and sucks up all the patty juices and cheese. The burger comes with fresh homemade fries, fried heavily until dark brown, making them similar in both look and taste to my secret craving for Better Made Rainbow Chips, which has a heavily caramelized almost slightly burnt flavor. And yet somehow they aren't over fried in terms of texture. The outside isn't super crisp like commercial battered fries, instead the clear homemade nature leaves some softer areas interspersed with the crunch. The insides, of course, are still perfectly fluffy, and there are little crumbs spread out all along the bottom for an extra crunch. These fries are the height of deliciousness. (5/5) Yes, I've been missing this kind of fatty, unctuous, filling, greasy, rich food after moving away from the Midwest to Seattle. You simply can't get this kind of food anywhere in the PNW. What a great start to our week long trip! If you don't wanna wait, you can sit at the bar downstairs - or even put an order in at the bar and eat at the lanes. We ended up getting seated in the basement, which I highly recommend! The food was classic - great wings, great fries, great ranch, and awesome Jucy Lucy burgers. The ambiance here is top notch, especially in the basement. Very solid bar food, and though service is stretched a bit thin still a great experience. Bring cash for a soft serve cone after!!
