Walking in you can tell this is an established local favorite. Service is great and the space is ample. They have two different bar areas and a dining area. They also offer pull tabs, a weekend brunch, and have live music on occasion. The food selection has something for everyone, my personal favorite is the turkey club. I really enjoy their waffle fries, and not pictured, but the BLVD Fries with bleu cheese, bacon and chives are really good, too. Their cheese curds are also really good. Was on a work trip to St Paul, visited a friend there then see the Ark on the way home. Heard this place was good, so gave it a try. Never been more wrong in my life. Rude staff, dirty establishment and terribly bland and cold food. "Smoked ribs?" Yea, okay. Facepalm at best. I'm guessing this dumpster fire won't be around much longer. Side note: Got very sick of hearing all the political talk from the staff. I'd prefer to not bring politics into food, but that's what that side does I guess. F- Sad. read more

I've been a loyal customer of The BLVD for years -- I've dined here regularly and have even hosted an event at the restaurant. I've always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, which is why it's so frustrating to be writing this. A visit in May left me feeling disappointed -- not just because of the issue itself, but because of how it was handled. During that visit, the fly problem was overwhelming. It was difficult to enjoy the meal while constantly swatting flies away, and we even had to cover our food with napkins just to keep them off our plates. It felt unsanitary and uninviting. I understand that flies can be hard to manage in open-air spaces, but when they're this pervasive -- including in the lobby and the areas where food is being prepared -- it becomes a serious concern. In response to my feedback, I was told that "the kitchen is up to code and that the restaurant recently passed a health inspection". I don't doubt that's true, but it doesn't address the core issue I brought up. You can't fully control flies when windows and doors are left open -- but that also means you can't fully prevent hundreds of flies from entering spaces where food is being handled. That's a problem. I've thought about this a lot in the time since, and what ultimately pushed me to write this review is the complete lack of follow-up. No additional response, no real acknowledgment, and frankly, what felt like a lack of genuine care. My concerns didn't feel heard -- they felt dismissed. I truly want to continue supporting The BLVD, but unless this ongoing issue is taken seriously and addressed, I don't see myself returning. If customers are having to cover their food with napkins just to keep it fly-free, you'd hope the restaurant would offer some kind of resolution or incentive to maintain customer retention. Cleanliness and customer care should be a top priority -- and right now, neither one seems to be. read more

This sports bar was happening! If you're looking for a fun and lively sports bar - this is it! There's lots of TVs blasting different sports games, a little spot for arcade games, and a live band was just getting set up while we were dining. There's a large selection of alcohol items int their drink menu and the food selection was interesting! Service was very nice and our server was super friendly and sweet. Boy, has this place changed!!!! While the Italian Fries with sausage that we ordered were delicious, the smell of nearby marijuana made for a not so enjoyable experience. Also, the group of 20 something year olds using the most foul, crude and disgusting language was enough to make me not want to hurry back anytime soon. I'm very well aware of the fact the you can't control what people say in public, but this was offensive. And I am not easily offended. As for the smell of marijuana, require that people have to be far from the door just as you do with cigarettes. read more

I live near here and have been meaning to give it a try for a while. While I'll come back, there are some aspects that made it a less than stellar experience. We asked for a booth, and as a result were seated in the bar area. With a concrete floor, exposed ceiling, and a bar fully seated on a Saturday during a Vikings preseason game...this was LOUD. The music was too LOUD, the people at the bar on a Saturday were too LOUD...I couldn't wait to escape. It was so loud, that we could barely hold a conversation; I've never been to a restaurant that the acoustics were so poor. The server started off strong, but had a poor finish (we had to wait forever for service on another round and our final bill). We had the BBQ rib special and a highly rated Jalapeño Popper pizza. I actually liked the pizza, and it didn't taste like it was made from frozen. The crust tasted like it might be homemade, and the toppings were unique. The food was good; the drinks (and selection) were good. We will probably give it another try, but I don't think I'll ever sit on the bar side again. Next time, I'll sit in the dining room and hopefully have a better experience. Our final bill with drinks and tip was $120, and honestly, at that price I expect more...better ambiance/better service. read more

Easy location to get to with plenty of parking. Busy on a Friday evening but the place has plenty of seating and service was great. You didn't feel how busy it because your drinks were always full and the good was fast. The food was really food with nice portion sizes. They had a band setting up around 6:30. First time at the blvd but it won't be the last. Excellent food and excellent service. There were 7 in our party (2 kids) and everyone enjoyed their food. I had the blackened cod bowl and it was delicious. The cod was cooked perfectly .. and it was a perfect blend of fresh avacado (perfectly ripe) which is hard to do.. it seems there's about a 4 hour window for the perfect ripeness , corn, black beans, rice and lettuce. The worst service from a bartender I've ever seen in MN! Emily is unprofessional, rude & hostile. This was the 2nd time in 3 days I had been in there with a group of friends and experienced this behavior from her. Every other time I've been in there the service was great, but allowing this type of behavior from an employee will tank a business. The manager, RayRay, came over and apologized which we appreciated. However saying Emily had a "long day" is not an acceptable reason to act the way she did. By contrast Devan the bartender is awesome! This place needs to fire her & hire more Devan's. read more

When we got there the waiter held the door open for us. We were very happy with the food and the waiter Nate, he made us feel very welcome and was very accommodating. Stopped in for a late dinner on Thursday, 9/19/24. As soon as our table of four walked in, we received a friendly greeting by the hostess and asked where we'd like to sit (table or booth). Our waitress by the name of Maritza came over to get our beverage order and share the specials with us. We decided on one of the new fall seasonal menu items- jalapeño popper pizza (requested crust well done), Blvd fries, boneless buffalo wings w/ranch, and kids pepperoni pizza w/tator tots. Our food arrived in about 20/25 minutes. Unfortunately, the kids pepperoni pizza received French fries instead of tator tots, jalapeño popper pizza was not well done as requested, and the blvd fries were cold and not very well tossed like normal. The manager understood and brought out tator tots and new blvd fries. We left the pizza as is and it was still delicious. We tried the pizza with the habanero jam, pretty good, but couldn't do it with every bite- just too sweet. Loved the pizza, just wish there was heat (I added red pepper flakes). My sister who does not like spice really enjoyed this pizza as well. We are almost a week later and we both keep talking about it. We are crossing our fingers that they decide to keep it on the menu for good. The kids enjoyed their meals- boneless buffalo wings and kids pepperoni pizza. We decided to enjoy a brownie skillet for dessert and it was absolutely scrumptious. Blvd tavern is a neighborhood bar/grill for us. We've been here countless times over the years. It's a great spot for a large crowd with a variety of options on seating. Restaurant has been expanded and offers a variety of specials on food and beverages daily. Highly suggest joining rewards program. Staff are usually always friendly. I love the new bar/seating area- so bright and spacious. Outdoor patio seating is nice as well. Always a pleasure to see Stacy when we come in for a visit. Highly suggest trying the pizza fries, the Sicilian sandwich, and the brownie skillet (can't forget dessert). read more

BLVD was solid. Some great things, and some not so great balance out to my three star rating. First off, the best thing of all was our server, Maritza, she was the best server I've had in quite a long time. It definitely has a bar vibe and feels that way with some stuff feeling a bit old/run down/ dingy. Hostess was not particularly kind or friendly when we arrived. They were super busy and presumably short-staffed so I presume that was why our app (sweet potato fry basket) took an hour to come out (would have been 50 minutes but they initially brought out the wrong thing). The sweet potato fries were good texture and were a great portion but needed salt/seasoning. We also ordered a pizza which was good but didn't blow me away. It had a good crust and good sauce but could have had a bit more toppings. Thankfully our main entrees came out much faster than our app. Everyone seemed to have large portions which was great. So overall solid and would be back if in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. read more

Pretty decent place to go, it's a little spendy for what you're getting though. Food is a little more expensive than other local places and drinks are a lot more expensive so if you're on a budget I'd wait for their specials. The food itself was pretty good, I got the Tacos de Birria which were seasoned well, the tortilla is traditionally crisped a bit more than they did, but the flavor was great. Our service was pretty slow though, it didn't seem that busy but waitstaff just didn't really check in with us much. At a certain point our waitress was cut so we closed our checks with her and then nobody checked in again with us at all... we ended up serving ourselves from the bar. read more

The last drink took me walking through the restaurant to find the server group, on their phones giggling obviously, to get. 20 minutes after ordering. Our mediocre food finally came out. No hello, good evening, pardon the mess. Then we were seated. The waiter seemed nice but didn't know how to speak to guests/customers. I asked if he had a specific type of beer. His answer was "I don't drink". An answer without value. Finally we ordered. Three of the four plates came at once, the last plate took about 20 minutes. When the waiter was asked why it took so long- he blamed the construction. Another non answer. Over all, I'd give the whole experience a D+. The food wasn't prepared correctly, wasn't delivered correctly either. Don't waste your time and money on such a place. read more

Great Party room and excellent service. We were here for a birthday party and they had a private room in the back. The room actually had doors that slide open which is perfect for a surprise party. I'll be honest, I didn't even try the food. I did notice how many people they had working the party and their service was on point. You could get a drink at the bar pretty quickly and there was more than enough seating for the party that had well over 100 people. They also had some great live music in the general restaurant/bar area for everybody to enjoy. If you're looking for a party room, I would definitely check this place out. read more

The problem was the 'jambalaya,' a hiibachi mess of oil and soy sauce sprinkled with what appears to be a vegetable medley run through a food processor. The cook who prepared this unsavory dish apparently has no acquaintance with jambalaya, the Cajun treat. Humorously and ironically, the first song the band sang was Hank Williams Jambalaya (On the Bayou). At least a couple of guys knew what they were doing. read more

We wanted to try a new (to us) burger place, and it was okay. Decent portions, but their fries were so-so and their burgers were way over cooked. We asked for medium-rare burgers, and they were for sure well done. We don't really send food back or anything, but had we not ordered to go, I think we would have flagged down a waiter to see about getting a burger that better fit our order. Price was fine - but there are a lot of other burger joints nearby that have better options for the same cost. read more

I would understand if it was super busy and jam packed. There were maybe 30 people in the entire place. So no overwhelming requests for drinks. I ordered chipotle wings (but of course) and half of them were cold to the touch! I am pretty forgiving when food is not good, but when it's not cooked, that's a totally different story. The wait staff was friendly and very prompt with the service. The personal pan pizza was the best pizza I had in the area. I would defiantly recommend it for the pizza beer and a good time. The service is always good everytime we go. I always order the jambalaya but now I'll have to stop. The recipe changed there's no more spice, the rice tastes plain and the shrimp tastes super fishy. I tried a couple more times to order again each time we went but still not the same. We will continue to go there for wings but I have to find an alternative meal and a better place for jambalaya. read more

I have been here several times since it is very close to home and has decent food at cheap prices. Came for breakfast last weekend and I ordered the Southwest Breakfast Bowl with chicken instead of chorizo (since I don't eat pork). The bowl came with 1 chopstick on top with no explanation (I am Asian). It was also missing the eggs and the chicken was raw. The waitress only took my meal off of the tab and said NOTHING about the racist chopstick on top of my bowl. NEVER eating here again. read more
