I must tell you that my experience was nothing like the reviews on Yelp. Maybe someone recognized my pic from Yelp. Any-who... First, they were courteous I actually received a text to remind me of my pending appointment. My very first appointment I arrived 15 minutes past the time I was scheduled to arrive and I take that and I had to reschedule. My bad. The second appointment the lash technician had an emergency and I had to reschedule again, but I received a courteous phone call and I was okay with that. When I finally arrived this Saturday I was quickly wisked away to a sirene pink room with wistfully calming music. I was advised based on my natural lashes what style would look best on me, I told my lash tech that I wasn't trying to look like a run way diva or a drag queen I just wanted to accentuate what I already have and be presentable for my 9 to 5. She made it happen. I have a full set 65 on each lash which I took advantage of with Groupon and I even agreed to the ten dollar upgrade plus a five dollar lash tech fee (I'm not quite sure what that means but I'm okay with it), and a tip. I paid $40.00 in addition to the 45.00 Groupon......but I'm cute and happy, so I'm good. I was not presented with a mandatory gratuity, I had to ask to leave a tip. So I'm going to make this review short and simple for those considering getting a groupon.... I purchased the 65 lashes per eye for $70. Be warned they will charge you "tax" on top of this @$9. The place is basic. They have lockers to store belongings. It took the typical 1 hour for the technician to finish. Just as reference, I have been getting my lashes done on and off for 8 years now. For some reason the glue they use burns the eye. Luckily, I didn't end up with conjunctivitis. As for the actual look it turned out just ok. What was lacking was the number of lashes that was applied. It looked like less than 60 lashes were applied per eye. Was it worth it? IMO, no because I did not get the full set of what I paid for, I have fallouts every day, & at that rate it probably won't last very long since I started with just a few lashes. read more

Young, pretty Asian women, apply your lashes while you're lying on bed tables and dozing off (it takes about an hour) to the mellow sounds of classical piano music in the air. At the end of my lash application I felt gorgeous! My lashes were soft and long and fluttery. I don't look like a Muppet. Here go the gripes. I was coaxed into a lash upgrade for $10. No problem. My problem? At completion of services, the receptionist handed me a tiny envelope with several numbers scribbled on it. Suddenly my $10 upgrade became $15 and I was charged a mandatory $20 gratuity. $20 tip for services that I paid $45 in advance for on Groupon??? I don't like that math. I learned about wink through a promotion that groupon offered. I followed all required steps to redeem the offer and secure an appointment. However, a day before my appointment I was contacted and asked if I could reschedule. How inconvenient!! My first thought was to just cancel and request a refund through groupon but I decided against it because I was having my lashes done for a special occasion. But I should have followed my first instinct! The day of my appointment arrives and I arrive at the location to find that entering the facility was going to be a little difficult because the doorbell was broken. I waited a little while and was able to gain access when a delivery person exited. Once I arrived upstairs at the WINK office doors I spoke with the receptionist. The receptionist briefed me on their process and had me choose the length of the lashes I preferred. Then I waited for quite a long time. Once I was called I was ushered into a brightly lit room full of customer on various tables around the room having their lashes done. The technician that I had definitely needed additional training. After the process was completed I definitely felt like I could have done better attempting the process on myself. I have had my lashes done in the past but this was definitely my WORST experience. My eyes were sore and red after the process was completed. Also during the installation process the adhesive solution dripped in my eyes and caused them to burn. I had to have the technician stop several times due to irritation and a burning sensation. I would never return to this place no matter how good the offer because I value my eyes and want to maintain my ability to see. I also must say that I am truly amazed at managements response to some of the earlier reviews. They upscale you on the mascara treatment (and rightfully so) but 50 lashes is hardly substantial to look any different than a regular eye, even with the mascara lash (which is $90). I'm a bit disappointed especially because Sophia was so kind, very gentle and as thorough as she could be I suppose. I definitely lost a lash as soon as I looked into the mirror to reapply my makeup. Overall a decent deal for exposure but prepare to spend more if you're in search of a noticeable lash difference. I would absolutely still wear mascara for these lashes to pop like I had hoped they would. It was my first time doing lash extensions and the place was great overall. I got a Groupon for their set of 100 lashes for 50 something (sorry I don't remember) which wasn't a bad deal at all. I had no idea which lashes to pick but the ladies in the front were very helpful to me and which I should choose. I already have pretty long lashes and the ones I originally picked out ended being exactly the size of my eyelashes but in the end they made a decision of giving me longer lashes. Application was nice and easy, I actually ended up falling asleep on the bed. Took about an hour but it is a tedious process so I can understand. The results were great! I was very pleased. Unfortunately, even though they were beautiful, I have a tendency to rub my eyes a lot so this really isn't for me. I would love to have them but it's just not for me. I came to wink a few months ago, and absolutely loved the lashes I got! The owner did them for me (can't remember her name). She is soft spoken, great at advising you which length to get and has a way of making you feel comfortable. However, today I called to schedule a future appointment and the receptionist was beyond rude. Her name is Tae. She did not bother to ask me which set I was interested in. She did not bother to ask which location I wanted to go to. She did not ask me if I wanted a male or woman lash tech. All of these things I mentioned to her! After she made it obvious that she had "all" the info she needed to schedule my appointment. Once she gather ALL of my information, I said to her thank you & SHE HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME! No "you're welcome". No "good bye". No "thank you". She said absolutely, nothing. Because of this I called back and asked to speak w the owner and she insisted that I speak with her. Her exact response to my request was "you can talk to me". Needless to say I didn't feel comfortable speaking with her, so I asked that she pass my number along to the owner so that I may speak with her personally. It sucks that with such a great first experience, in the hands of the owner, my willingness to continue business with Wink has diminished greatly because of an employee. I have to agree with the other reviewers- it was a positive experience. The place is on the second floor but I didn't find it confusing to get into. They have very well mannered professionals who determine your natural lash length and then allow you to choose what size you would like. From there you are led to a locker to secure your personal belongings. Then you proceed to a wide open space brightly lit and lined with beds. You hop on and get tucked in and let the procedure begin. They tape your eye to prevent squeezing them shut and then you close your eyes. About 45 minutes later I was done and had the prettiest lashes I've ever seen. Now I have no need for mascara - just don't get them wet for the first 24 hours. Side Note: I do believe I smelled crazy glue and my eyes burned at times during the procedure. They were rather blood shot but the irritation was short lived and the results were certainly worth the time well spent. read more

Overall a pleasant experience. Everyone was friendly from the receptionist to my technician. I got the J curl 13 length with mascara upgrade for $80. I wore my contacts during the service and my eye weren't irritated at all. The whole service took 90 minutes and my lashes came out super long but not as thick as I imagined it will be. Then again, with the length it would probably look a bit much too thick. I went to the beach the weekend after the service and most of the lashes stayed in place despite strong waves. I am now on week 3, tho some of the lashes start going in weird directions, with a little combing, they still look great. I will def consider going back. read more

The technician was in the negatives on personal hygiene. There were multiple times I choked whenever she would speak 2. Overpriced for what they offer. 3. They're a bit, yes I'm going to play the race card, racist. While I waited for my session to start, two other ladies (not African American) paid for their services with their credit/debit card. I wish I didn't even have to give them one star because they don't deserve it. Let me start out with saying that I went to Wink 2 years ago and had an okay experience (at best). The girl had gotten glue in my eye and my eye actually was red and burned for 2-3 days after the appointment. But that wasn't even what turned me off most. After telling a friend of mine about Wink, she decided to try it out and they accused her of coming 2x and using the same 'new customer coupon' (even though she had never been there before) and treated her like a criminal. It rubbed me the wrong way they way and I decided to not go back. Fast forward 2 years...I am an avid eyelash extension fan and get them done every 6 weeks at salons throughout NYC. I have chosen not to go back to Wink because of their customer service and the issue I had with my eye. That was until I saw a Groupon the other day and figured I'd give them another shot. BOY, WAS I WRONG! The story could go on for pages, so I will just include the highlights to warn you of what a horrible place this is. There are SO many better places to go (JJ Eyelash, BB Eyelash, Maison de Lash, iLash, Forever Lash, Glash...the list goes on...You DONT need this place or the headache!) I scheduled the appointment and gave them my name and let them know I had a groupon. They said no problem and took down my voucher number. I arrived at my appointment and handed my groupon to the woman at the front desk-- she called to another lady to come out and she approached me and goes "We don't accept your Groupon-- its for first time customers'). I went on to explain it said nothing on Groupon about excluding previous users and asked her to pull it up online to prove to her. She then went on to tell me that "Groupon makes us lie to get more clientele in the door and then we charge our clients more money to have the appointment". She told me that she is a small business and that I should feel bad using Groupon because they only make $15 on each appointment. I asked her why that was my problem and if she had a problem with Groupon to bring it up with them. I told her that when I made the appointment they didn't say anything about this issue even after giving me them the voucher #. She told me I never told them I had a groupon. I then pointed to her appointment book where my name and voucher number were written. Lie #1 of about 10 I explained to her that what she was doing was called False Advertising and they could shut down a small business for doing such. She told me that they make so little money that they need to lie on Groupon. I don't know why this was my issue and now I had to deal with the consequences? After asking to speak with a Manager (who lives in Korea and never is around), I told them that I refused to be lied to and then pay more money for a service I purchased already. I walked out the door and scheduled an appointment with JJ the minute I walked out. 2 minutes later I started getting text messages from WINK "Please come back, I will only charge you $55. blah blah blah". I told them that I would never step foot in their salon again and that I would tell every single person I know to never go there. This place is a scam and they don't deserve anyone's business, especially when there are so many great places in the area that treat customers the way they should be treated and provide exceptional service. I've had eyelash extensions done before at FABULASH and it was grrreeaattt, my lashes lasted for 1.5 months and they really, really stuck because they only came off when my natural eyelashes started to shed and when when I tried to pull them apart after they fell off they didn't separate at all. OPPOSITE to my eyelash experience at Fabulash, my WINK eyelashes started falling off on day one! More and more fell of as each day went by and by 2 weeks, they were all pretty much all gone. They didn't last AT ALL and I'm so disappointed. And the amount of tape they put on your eyes is excruciating and unpleasant...I just couldn't get comfortable. ALSO, the deal says a full set which is 70 eyelashes per eye? maybe 60? either way, I went home and COUNTED and got only somewhere between 30-35 per eye....totally got jipped. read more

There was a fight going on when I got there. Some lady didn't want to leave a tip. They were cursing and screaming and I just wanted to get in and out of there. No such luck- I had to listen to this go back and forth the 1st 30 minutes I was there. The girl did my lashes with a very steady hand with my forehead as the receptacle to hold the lashes before she positioned them on my lashes. When she went to remove the bottom lash holder- my bottom lashes were glued to my top ones. She proceeded to yank them apart- PAINFULLY. I cried while this was happening of course. The end result was OK for the 185 it cost- I went to tip a 20 and the girl behind the desk said- thats not 15%- she calculated it (with an actual calculator)to be almost $30 for the tip alone. Thats just extremely rude. Im on the hunt to find a place for touch ups where I don't have to be scowled at when I tip a decent amount. 11/2010 update!! found a place in my neighborhood that does more lush AND natural looking lashes for $30. I got my eyelashes here for over one year. I put up with their sketchiness because it's an easy walk from my apartment, and I was too lazy to find another place. First of all, they LIE. I have asked for and paid for thicker, "upgraded" lashes, but received the standard lashes (I've been getting these done for awhile now, did they think I wouldn't notice?). Not only will they lie about that, they will start with one girl doing your lashes, then switch in the middle. On my last visit here, I could tell they had switched to another girl. I asked twice if it was the same person, and was told yes. There is no consistency here, you will rarely find the same girls working. In most salons, if there is someone in training, they will provide their services at a discounted rate (or no rate at all, as most people who are in training practice on models, who are volunteers). But here, new girls are brought in all the time who clearly have no experience. No mention is made of this to the clients. I also think this place should be reported to the Better Business Bureau. I get the feeling that many of the girls actually live here. There is a small kitchen set up in the far end of the space. Word is that the girls work ONLY FOR TIPS, and receive no part of the $100+ fee for the work. I gave this place 2 stars because I was there so many times, and I always left with a decent set of lashes. But I've finally had enough of their nonsense. read more

I was pleasantly surprise with my visit to Wink, I had an event and needed a same day appointment near my job and found this amazing place. The receptionist who made my appointment was very attentive and accommodated me as per my request, I arrived earlier than expected and she took her time to explained all I needed to know and made recommendations on what would look best on me. The waiting area is cozy, and they have personal lockers for you to leave your belongings as you go in for your appointment. The atmosphere here is very relaxing, and since the moment you lay down, the music helps you quiet the mind, I actually took a nap and woke up to gorgeous lashes. The technician was very professional and did a wonderful job. I had to ask to leave a tip, this was very refreshing since in other places they demand a 20% gratuity, this was not the case here at Wink. The second time I went for my touch up I was not as happy with my eyelashes as I was the first time, but I think it was my mistake, I had a different technician since the first one that did my eyelashes was no longer employed at Wink. I guess it was more of a miscommunication with the new technician, but after telling her I wasn't completely happy with my eyelashes she tried her best to make them better. I am making an appointment for my touch up again, and I am really looking forward to fall in love with my eyelashes again as I did the first time. read more

This was my first time getting eyelash extensions when I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome I had called earlier and she instinctively knew exactly who I was. Now the service.. I had the honor of having my lashes applied by Hannah. Her hands as delicate as can be I fell asleep several times throughout the session as to I was so comfortable and relaxed. Not a single second of discomfort throughout the whole process it was like her fingers we're feathers! She's precise, professional, and surpasses all expectations in her profession! For the moments my fresh eyes began to tear during application because naturally they've never been handled she just soothed me like a baby told me not to worry and relax. YESSSS eyelash extensions... probably my newest habit. A lifebooker deal was referred to me by my sister-in-law who went here before her wedding. I got a full set of mascara lashes for $68.50 which was about $35 less than usual. Very conveniently located in Herald Square, Wink is on the second floor. You walk in, and it is very clean, nicely laid out, and colorful. Staff is attentive and helpful. They helped me pick which eyelash length would work best for my eyes, and then locked my purse in a locker. I was neatly tucked on a bed (in a large room with other beds), and my eyelids were taped closed. It was quiet in the room, with some music in the background, but I put my headphones on anyway. The whole application took about an hour, but I was so relaxed that I fell asleep for most of it. The outcome has SO-FAR been great. I'm happy with the look. Very, very natural, almost to a fault. Next time I might ask for a more dramatic look. You can't get them wet for 24 hours, so shower beforehand! And bring an umbrella if it's raining. This place is fairly priced, and I would highly recommend them. I cannot review the test of time yet though, as they have only been on for one day... although I didn't wear eyeliner OR mascara today for the first time and didn't feel like a hideous monster. read more

They look completely natural. *The process took an hour and was painless. *The staff was friendly The Bad: *As was noted, I felt like I was being attacked during the up sell. Furthermore, there are various areas to up sell (width, length, amount) so this went on waaaaay too long. * An extra 8% because I'm using a debit card. Absurd. * When they finished, I told the girl at the front desk I would like them to be a little fuller next time. I figured out what these scammers are doing. They make your eyelashes look perfect the first time so that you come back. Then the second time they make them look bare... so that the third time you go in they make you want to get a "fuller set" like you had the first time. They then jack up the price to $10 or more then what they promised it would cost. I was complaining at the front desk about this and two other women overheard me and had the same complaint. The owners husband (guy with the curly hair who is up front with his cute baby) tried blaming all of us stating that we where sweating to much etc. I told him I noticed a difference right after she did my lashes. He was just like a politician and diverted away from answering our questions. I have been going to a place right around the corner for over three years and only stopped going because they got so busy. They did not scam me the way this place does. Not only that be careful if you don't give them the tip they want..they will make a big scene. I refuse to go back and will return to my original place (which does a better job at a better price)...the only problem like I mentioned earlier is that they are very busy. However, after getting treated the way I did at wink it is a no brainer. Be careful when you look at the menu it will say lashes are from $35 to $55...this is not true. I hope this was helpful. It was pretty easy to set up an appointment unlike many places I had been to in the past. I was pretty surprised that they had openings on a Friday afternoon cause most people like me would get all doll up and ready for the weekend. On the day of my appointment, a few hours before my appointment time. I received a text reminding me about my appointment and to call if I can't make it. That was really smart of time because it is a pain sometime when some places call me to remind me because on a weekday, chances are people are working and to call during work hours, they would end up leaving a voice mail requesting that you call back to confirm it or else they will cancel you appointment. I had no problem looking for the location because when I got to the address, there were signage and indication directing me what floor they were on. The receptionist was really nice and pleasant, I was 20min early because I didn't want to be late and I didn't min waiting either. It was really nice of them that they can do my lashes instead of having me wait till it was my appointment time. The receptionist ask me what type of lashes I wanted and the length that I wanted them in. After telling the receptionist what I want, she wrote it on a small card and gave it to a lady, which then the lady would show me where to put my belongings down. Lashes usually takes an hour, and it is smart of them to have locks on the mini lockers where they show us to put our belongings so there wouldn't be a fuss about missing items or what so ever. After putting my stuff down, the lady took me to a large room that have many beds that a few people would be getting their lashes done at the same time. It made sense how they can have so many available appointments for customers to choose from because there is a couple of employees doing lashes instead of some places that only have one person that does lashes. The bed was really clean and comfortable. During the hour that I was laying on that bed, my back and neck was fine afterwards so that's pretty good. First off, the lady that did my lashes would use Sephora cleansing water to clean my eyes then apply on the tape and slowing attach the lash extensions. I fell asleep when I was getting my lashes done. I was so comfortable that I didn't wake up till the end of the entire process. My whole experience was really nice and great there so why 2 stars? It wasn't the first time that I got my lashes done so I knew how to maintenance them. They stayed on pretty well the first couple of days and not much of them came off so I was really satisfy. BUT the first time in my entire life, that I got a pinkish red bump on my eyelid. Never in my life had I ever got such a itchy and painful thing on my eyelid, first time my entire life. I didn't know what to do because I never had such a thing before so I went to see the doctor. So even though that the staff at Wink clean my eyes with cleansing water before the process, it might have been the stuff that they were using that wasn't clean. Whatever happened had already happened so there was nothing that I could do. By the beginning of the 2nd wk after I got my lashes done, almost all of them had already fallen off. I didn't expect the lashes to lash forever but it was kind of quick for them to come off so quick. Exactly 2 full weeks of my appointment date, I received a text from Wink saying that they are having a promo for touch up, in my mind I was thinking my lashes need way more than a touch up and since the set barely last long, I didn't bother setting an appointment for a touch up because it would've been a waste of time and money and I seriously didn't to get an eye infection again. I was really satisfy with my experience at Wink but the aftermath of my eye getting infected and the lashes not lasting, I am not sure if I will give this place a 2nd chance because I might've just been the unlucky one that got someone not as skillful as the other staff and had unsterilized equipments. read more

There's the good and there's the bad. I bought a Groupon for a full set of 65 lashes (and this was my first time getting eyelash extensions ever)... The staff was super friendly the first time I came around and had a locker waiting. The process was really relaxing and simple. I think I fell asleep at some point. It took about an hour and... my lashes looked va-va-voom! I really enjoyed how it looked and the process itself. The bad part? Touch-ups are a killer $$. They showed me the price list before I walked out the first time and it was double what I paid for my groupon (I get it, but still... it's hard to pay double to triple after getting a deal). My plan was to just wait until I need a full set or just until I had a special occasion rolling around, as not to retouch every 3-4 weeks because that's pricey. However, New Year's was approaching and I decided to try it out one more time. Turned out to be $67 plus tip and my eye lashes didn't look as full as the first time because I opted in for the 80 lashes, which I realized later was TOTAL vs. per eye as they were just replacing bad ones. Have been to a few places and this is by far the best. My lashes lasted about three weeks even though I've quite aggressively washed my face, even my eye area AND went swimming.... in the darn Pacific Ocean! Ha. I forgot the name of the lady who did my lashes, but believed she was Japanese. She was super gentle and did a great job. First of all, WINK, I loved my eyelashes. I'm the first in my circle of friends to get them and everyone is obsessed. I thought it was pricey, even with the Groupon I had gotten ($45 for $95, ended up upgrading and with tip, spent another $70) but now, back in Boston, I'm struggling to find another place as nice and professional for the same price. It's been...two weeks to the day now and I definitely can tell that some fell out but it still looks super nice! I did get a massage and squash my face so that definitely didn't help. I took away a star because I think they do a bit of sneaky advertising slash upselling, which annoys me. When I came in with my Groupon, the owner [?] basically said, oh, this Groupon covers a basic set which might look weird on your eyes. Um, okay, I don't want THAT...okay fine i'll upgrade. I dunno. I didn't like that part. fell asleep while they were getting put on, really cute tables, and lots of them. I feel like there are definitely more tables than people available to apply lashes. Also, they were pretty nice about the fact that I couldn't print out my groupon. At first, they were just like no, we can't just accept a number you need the sheet. And we had a silent stare off. I wasn't going to pay, and they weren't gonna just take my confirmation code. Finally I was like, do you have a printer? And they were like, you can email it to us. And they let me use their computer to do that. All in all, I wish there was a WINK in boston. I haven't been to any other places so I dunno if they last longer or shorter than other places but god I hope the whole thing about extensions pulling out your real lashes isn't true! read more

It's in a convenient location in midtown but that's the only positive about this place. They are on the second floor, in an open space, no walls, no privacy. Just rows of beds laying side by side - kind of reminiscent of a hospital ER.. My technician kept getting the tape in my eye when taping down my lower lashes that my eye wouldn't stop trembling. I told her it bothered me and she said, "it's supposed to be uncomfortable." I could feel the edge of the tape against my eyeball and I kept tearing because it stung. After repeatedly pulling the tape off my skin and reapplying, she finally got it right but now the skin under my eye was burning. The application itself went as expected but the results were disappointing. Less than two weeks after I got my lashes done most of my lashes had fallen off and the remaining few lashes were all twisted in different directions. Where the false lashes are glued to my own lashes turned white (I'm guessing it's the glue) and I look like I have dust sitting in my lashes. By the end of week two I only had two to three lashes on each eye and it looked so ridiculous I ended up cutting them off. This place is a total waste of time and money. read more

I rarely yelp, but this deserves a 1 star review. In regards to customer service, they are on point- very in depth explanations and accommodating. However, my lashes didn't look much different from my natural ones and I paid for the mascara upgrade and a mid sized length ($120). My appointment was exactly 1 week ago, and all of the lashes are gone. I touched my eye this morning, and 10 lashes came out randomly. NEVER going back. Don't waste your money. read more

I totally LOVE my lashes!!! I had an awesome experience at Wink ;) I used a groupon for my initial visit and I just came in for my 2 week touch up. I went with 10, 11, 12mm length "mascara-look" C-curl lashes which look amazing! It gives you a pulled together look even with minimal makeup. I have had eyelash extensions before at other places so I knew what to expect. This is what made my experience at Wink review worthy: The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. At my initial visit, the receptionist was very warm and helped me pick out the best lash length and type. She recommended "mascara-look" lash type, which is an upgrade, but TOTALLY worth it! The esthetician at my 2 week touch up did a really impeccable job. I do not remember her name, but she was wearing a fantastic pair of prescription eye glasses with roundish black plastic frames (super chic). As we started the session, she made sure that I was comfortable, and also asked if I was in a hurry (which was very thoughtful and courteous). After a calm, relaxing, pain free session, I opened my eyes to see lots of long gorgeous lashes! The esthetician was professional and very knowledgable. She explained to me why C-curl lashes should be placed closer together for support. She also took the time to give me some great "after care" tips which were helpful. I like the space which is clean, comfortable, and relaxing. They even have lockers for your belongings. I also really like that they send you a text message as a reminder to schedule your 2 week touch up. You can even text back and schedule an appointment via text message, which is super convenient. The experience is well worth it. I will be returning to maintain my lovely lashes and recommend Wink to my girlfriends. read more

This was my first experience getting eyelash extensions and I was really excited because I've always been self conscious about my eyes. I went to Wink not really knowing what to expect. I entered Wink, was seated immediately the environment was very inviting. The pink beds and comforters were quite nite and had a girly touch. I was a little turned off that the person who was doing my eyelashes did not speak very good english and naturally, I was quite nervous my first time doing this. The beginning of the procedure can be slightly uncomfortable as your eye lids are being taped down and it can be a little unnerving. I was astounded by the results -- The eyelashes looked really natural and made me feel way less self-conscious. It looks like I'm wearing my mascara all the time! Slightly expensive, but I totally think it's worth it for a special occasion. The man at the front desk said they last up to 4 weeks and that they do not take out your own eyelashes. read more

Ugh, I'm totally in love with something that I can't afford to keep up, lol. I did it on a lark as a special treat and I have received a million and one compliments on my lashes. Every time my mother see's me she drooling over my lashes. Who knew these little hairs packed so much power. Wink did a great job and even two weeks in I'm still happy with my lashes. A few have fallen out but that's to be expected since my natural lashes shed often. They still look great. When I went in, I asked the receptionist a million and one + another 106k questions and she was extremely patient with my novice second guessing self. I settled for the basic J-curl set @ 11-12 length, and was ushered away to have my eyes taped shut for an hour - time well spent. Wink does a good job at making you comfortable, with a bed layout and pillows. I am the world's most fidgety person so I appreciated the strategically placed pillow that lies right under your knees. I'm absolutely in love with my lashes. It sounds odd, but they really open up your face and I know look awake with minimal makeup! The girls get it.... I bought a Dealist deal for eyelash extensions at Wink and it was definitely a subpar experience! Just as a bit of background this is the second time, i've had this done, so I knew what to expect. Firstly, I forgot to print the Dealist ticket, and they refused to see me (fine, my fault!). When I came back with the ticket, they upsold me on the 'mascara' look (not worth it!). I went in and for the next 45 minutes, I was taped up and felt the person's hand heavy on my face. Once, I was done with that uncomfortable experience for 45 minutes, I was told that the girls work for tips only, and that there was a mandatory 15% minimum off the ORIGINAL price, not the DEALIST price I paid. I paid $45 on DEALIST, and it retailed at $95, plus the mascara addition, brought my total up to $110. They took THAT amount to charge me an additional 15%. So i paid almost 20 dollars in tips for bad service, and nearly half of what my original Dealist offer cost. This place is a rip-off, and should be reported to Dealist for false advertisement! read more

It used to be my favorite place. And I went there so many times (13-15 times). However, this place has changed a lot, maybe because of new unprofessional management. THEY ASK FOR TIP, RUDE,CASH ONLY! 1. One time new girl was training on me and entire time she would glue my eyelashes together. Then she hurt my eye with tweezers. So, all procedure I was worry about my eyes and she did not make me comfortable at all. I didn't leave her tip but I did not say anything to her about my bad experience. In fact, I gave tip to other technicians before. Next time I came and management TOLD ME TO TIP tip there employee! Very rude! In addition, they were watching me if I am going to tip at this time. 2. Also, they are very RUDE on the phone. NO MANNERS. Difficult to make an appointment. DIRTY BEDS. 3. One time, I wanted to buy a gift certificate for my friend and machine is not working, they made me come back and the next day it didn't work, and so on. 4. The ask for CASH ONLY! They definitely don't last that long (about 2 weeks-1 month) but they are worth every penny. If you work as much as most New Yorkers do, it's worth the moola for the time that you save in the morning. The people are nice and there is never much of a wait. It's pricey but they are professional and the lashes turn out beautifully. It takes a little more than an hour so be prepared to spend some time snoozing on their peptol bismol pink beds! read more

In all my infinite wisdom I booked a ticket to San Juan 3 days before its departure. This left me in need of a fresh set of lashes within the next 48 hours and no way of getting an appt with my usual spot. For customer service I have to give this place 5 stars. They were accommodating even though I walked in there appointment-less. They also honored the price on Lifebooker (although I didn't book through lifebooker). The staff was extremely friendly and I had overall pleasant experience with them. Not to mention the place was quiet and clean. Also they provide lockers for your belongings while you are being serviced. Now the reason for the 3 stars. My lashes did not stay on as long as they typically do and were a lot more scarce. I am assuming I would have to pay more to get a more complete look. The lashes felt thinner than what I am accustomed to and I feel this is what caused them to fall out so much sooner. However they were definitely still wearable and were fine for my vacation. I would go back here again in a time crunch. read more
