Quick and talented! I've used both ladies and they've both done a great job. $12 for eye brows and $8 for lip. It's a little painful, but it's worth it and it's over within a few minutes. I always just drop in. Even when it's really busy with multiple people in line ahead of me, I've never waited more than 10 min. And again, the actual service takes less than 5 minutes. No extra bells and whistles, but they do a great job quickly, it's consistent, and they always have a smile! I've been going to them for 3 years now. read more

I've been threading for over 10 years and would never pluck or wax my eyebrows. I just had an awesome experience at Wink. They are professional, clean and very friendly. I love the ambience of the location. Even in the less than 10 minutes it took to do my eyebrows and upper lip, I felt like I was at a spa with the coolness of the gray walls and the subtle pop of color in their decorations. Quick and beautiful brows! Preferences are considered which is nice but honestly the two ladies there are both great. I love how they can go fast and almost pain free. (I'm a total wuss so that says a lot) I hate how some people go super slow and you can literally feel each strand of hair pluck out one -by-one! Ouch! And how they can't get that one hair that's super close to the skin so they literally go over it a million times, harder and harder as they go... Incredibly overpriced. I had an eyebrow emergency, so I came to the location walking distance from my work. I wasn't too surprised about the price, by the way. I looked up this place on Yelp and saw the positive reviews, which even mentioned how over priced a threading session would be. A high majority of the reviews said that they were overpriced, but it was worth it, so I just believed in it. Seriously, $12? I felt bad for even using my credit card because there was a tip line on my receipt making me feel obligated to tip. No, I'm not a cheap-ass tipper (even though I put in $1 on the tip line), but I just don't understand how you would put a price of $12+ on a less than average eyebrow thread. For the price $12 i expected a perfect brow however it was mediocre. Had to correct her a couple of times and still saw a few little hairs under my brow line. In addition they were not completely even. Go to perfect brow in Cedar Hill $10 and you will walk out just like the business name says with a "perfect brow". read more

Although there are usually one 2 people working at a given time and there can be quite a few people waiting, I always feel like like all of the focus is on me and they're not rushing through my threading. This is definitely an example of a business that follows the philosophy of do one thing really well. I've had my eyebrows threaded here a dozen times by different folks and everyone I've ever seen does a quick and consistently good job. I've never made an appointment, always just walked in and never waited long even when they were busy. Of course threading isn't painless but it lasts longer and (in my opinion) looks better than waxing. Parking sucks around here but it does everywhere in this part of town. I decided to try wink since, although I had a great waxer I used to go to (she's been rated highly by Daily Candy, D magazine, etc), since I use Retin-A for acne, I needed to find something more gentle than wax. Wink had such great reviews, that I decided to give them a try. (later, I went back and viewed the "filtered" reviews, and found someone likened their brows to looking like the aftereffect of a chemo treatment - I couldn't agree more!) First off, I have full features/a round face, so uber-thin eyebrows don't look proportionate on me. When I went to Wink, my eyebrows were rendered so thin, I looked like a drowned rat. However, I chalked that up to my lack of communication...I had assumed a level of expertise that wasn't there else, I would gave "guided" my girl more. About a month later I decided to give this place another try, vowing to clearly communicate what I was looking for (full brow, don't give me a sharp arch - keep it natural, just need some clean up). I did all but ask for the "Brooke Shields". this time, my eyebrows were not only pencil line thin, but she took too much hair off the top of my eyebrows and I had a bald spot on my left brow! If you like non existent eyebrows, go to the this place. If you prefer a fuller brow that you don't have to pencil in, find another place (I know I will). read more

I come here because I don't have another place to go. They are better than mall people but not exactly great. Don't get me wrong, the are nice, clean, and do a good job but always need a lot of guidance. I think they believe one size fits all....that's not so. I like a high arch to my brows and it takes me asking at least twice to get the look I want. Even then I'm not perfectly satisfied. I'm still looking for the perfect thread girl. read more

They did a great job, making sure that I was satisfied. She even pointed out a hair at the end to double check that I wanted to leave it to grow. The shop is very clean. I called ahead around noon and they were able to put my name on the walk in list if I came within the next 10 minutes. I only waited about two minutes before it was my turn. $12 is higher than what I have paid at other places but the location and convenience made it worth it to me. Came here for the first 2 times with a $5 groupon certificate. I will come back again and pay regular price. The staff is really nice but there are only 2 technicians at the most. First time was after work and it was super busy, second time was around lunch and I was the only one there. If you've never done it before, think of it as tweezing with sound effects. It's not painless and my first time was uncomfortable because I'm so used to getting waxed and that's a fast pain. The second tine I went I was much more at ease and knew what to expect. If you get your upper lip done use your tongue to stretch out the surface area (she'll tap your lip and tell you). OH! and the best part is that if you go on Tuesdays for your eyebrows you can do your lip for free! My eyebrows grow quickly so I went two weeks after the first but my best friend's are growing back slowly. Overall: costs as much as waxing (if you DONT do on Tues), lasted about the same time, but much better if you're sensitive. Kinda hurts, but only if you're new to it. read more

okay so i went here about a month ago and had one of the worst experiences ever. I walked in without an aptmnt and the place is super tiny with somewhat nice furniture so I'm thinking okay this is a quality place....WRONG. They sat me down wtih this lady who barely listened to what i wanted and started hacking away at my eyebrow...leaving me with a thin line for an eyebrow...needless to say i started crying as soon as i looked in the mirror because i had speciifically stated i wanted to leave them thick. After telling her not to touch me and i demanded the other woman (which it seems like everyone was going to except for me ...Hmmm) I went to the other lady and she did an okay job on the other eyebrow...BUT it didnt matter bc one eyebrow was still a thin line. When i was ready to pay the cashier woman said "yeahhh were not really known for her work" ( my thoughts "THEN WHY DID U GIVE ME HER!")...they did offer a free eyebrow threading for the next time (which i wont be using). SOOOOOO if u want to take a chance on your eyebrows by all means go there....i recent found another place called Bollywood Stylz ...where they took there time and fixed my eyebrows beautifully read more

I have visited the salon on three occasions. The first time, she did a good job, I would say great, however, I had to pluck hairs... clearly left behind. The same lady did my eyebrows on the second visit. On this visit, my eyebrows were not done the same way and I had to request an arch. Once I arrived home , I again had to fix them and pluck stray hairs. ( So, tell me again, why wear the reading glasses?) Silly me, I went again today, and another lady did my brows. When she was done and handed me the mirror, I looked like she had done Botox and way puzzled about something, My eyebrows were really thin, misshaped and the left one was uneven. Unfortunately, she had threaded so much off, if she would have tried to correct her mistake, I would have had to come home and draw on hair instead of pluck it this time. Boy! Do I miss those stray hairs, right about now. Morale to the story is don't" Wink."....shape your lips in an O and repeat after me - Oh no! Don't go. Wink is an excellent choice for threading! The salon is very accessible with ample parking in the West Village garage or the garage for The Mondrian. I almost always forget that my brows need to be reshaped until I see their sign while driving down McKinney, so I am a walk-in customer. The wait is less than 20 minutes (most of the time there isn't a wait). The threaders are very quick and have shaped my brows satisfactorily without too much pain (it's like extremely fast and furious plucking). The $12 price for brows is pretty reasonable. It was Friday afternoon, and I was in desperate need of some eyebrow cleaning. I get off of work at 6 pm, so there was no way I would have made it to the subarbs in time to get them done before work, so I did a local (uptown/downtown area) search for a threading place nearby. I came across Wink and I was pleasently surprised. They were open till 7 pm. I'm always hesitant to try new places/people when it comes to threading, however the reviews brought me to this place. First of all, the place is absolutely adorable. I went around 6:15ish on a friday evening and there was no wait (that never happens in the suburbs). The eyebrow technician (I believe her name was Zia) was extremely nice, and explained everything she was doing, prior to doing it. She also allowed me to "check" my eyebrow after she had done one. I get my eyebrows done pretty frequently, but she did an awesome job shaping my eyebrows. (I always find something wrong with them, and I was extremely surprised at her work). If you've never gotten your eyebrows threaded, this is definitely the place I would go to. They take their time, everything is hygenic and you will walk out very happy. Just a note: i used to wax my eyebrows until someone informed me that waxing will stretch your skin and therefore more likely to cause wrinkles earlier in life. (I'm definitely not that old, but hey, who wants wrinkles?). This is not the case with threading. read more

I have been a loyal satisfied customer of the Wink Dallas location since it's opening. I looked forward to my services with Kalpana . I liked the convenience of being able to "walk in" taking my chances on a short wait and equally the confirmation of meeting time deadlines by scheduling an appointment. Always leaving a hefty tip and generous Christmas tips! I've always been treated with the utmost professionalism and excellent customer service until my visit today. I arrived at 5pm. There was a customer being serviced by Kalpana and one other customer ahead of me. As we all waited patiently another customer walked in and asked the front desk lady how long it would be for her to have a quick service, she only had a few hairs that needed removing? The front desk lady replied that Kalpana had one customer waiting (that was me) and that she could be serviced after that. The lady took a seat. The front desk lady walked over to me and said "you are next but I'm going to let this lady (pointing to the lady that just walked in) go before you. She only needs a short service. I replied that I had a plane to catch. I was notified almost immediately after that conversation that Kalpana was ready for me. In the middle of my service the front desk lady approached Kapana (I didn't hear what she said) but, Kalpana said "yes" and then Kalpana said to me I'll be right back I'm going to take care of this lady. I was appalled and in disbelief as I had already had this conversation with the front desk lady. I waited my turn! They were totally disrespectful and inconsiderate of my time. I left with one eyebrow and half of my chin done. Fortunately, I was able to walk a few doors down to Nail Bar and Angie took very good care of me. First and foremost, this place was rated the best place to have your eyebrows done in Dallas by D Magazine. I was sick of paying $25 for a wax and was sick of waiting until 6:30 in the evening to go to the Aveda salon to get a wax. I heard waxing was sooo 90's anyway and decided to try this threading thing. So, I made my appointment at Wink (appointments aren't required by recommended) and went to check this place out. It's small and located in the West Village II. The staff is so friendly! The guy that works the front desk is awesome. He is helpful with directions, helpful with appointments, and tells you all about the threading process if you are new to the whole concept. Threading isn't as painful as waxing. It is also safer....no chemicals. Oh, and 5 minutes later, I was done! Threading is super precis. The shape is amazing! I will be back and highly recommend Wink! I've never done anything to my brows except plucking them myself. So, a friend suggested that I should try it. Boy, am I glad I tried it! I love the clean lines that results from the job. It was slightly painful and feeling the thread being pulled quickly across my brows made me a little nervous. However, it was over fast! I'm really glad I tried threading! I've gone here twice for the combo eyebrow and upper lip threading. They are very good - if you are new to threading they show you how to pull your eyebrows appropriately so they can access them to thread them, and they give tissues if you are starting to tear up. They are very patient with first-time threaders! At the end, they apply some sort of 'cooling gel' which I have since stopped using because I think it irritates my (excessively sensitive) skin. For people with normal skin it might be awesome. The vibe of the place is very positive and comfortable, and everyone working here has been nice to me so far. read more

Quick good service. Negatives are parallel parking is never available. I park in west village shopping and walk over. I also had to get feisty when the women wouldn't let me take a five second break in between brows. Call me a wimp, but I can only take 'stinging' for so long before a recovery period. This was just mediocre for me. I unfortunately had to part ways with my old eyebrow threader who was hands down the best threader I've ever been too- she would shape them arch them trim them and fill them even give a little brow massage afterward- this place is half the price granted , but it had been 2 months since I had been threaded so I was in desperate need if re-shaping. I gave specifics on what I wanted but was only given a slight clean up. No re shaping no arching just the stray hairs cleaned up. I had to go home and try tweezing and trimming myself.
