Vina/Veena is a freaking light bender! The state of my eyebrows is always questionable (if not terrifying) before I walk in the door. But baybeeeeee, when I tell you I always leave ON. POINT. ON. POINT. HONEY. This small piece of magic is a true gem to have stumbled across. Veena is a very skilled brow artist and always manages to make my eyebrows look as close to sisters as possible, when they typically look like distant cousins. Extremely disappointed with my experience here. I got my eyebrows threaded and as you can see, the lady made them VERY uneven. One of my brows is thicker than the other one. One brow also looks higher up than the other one. Would definitely NOT recommend. read more

Lovely, sweet lady gave us service and we just had to walk in (no appointment ) to get a Henna tattoo! She matched a Pinterest design my daughter chose. I only gave 4 stars because she was all alone and her customers stacked up so much she wanted to skip my daughter to take care of some older customers. I didn't realize they were just waiting to get their eyebrows done. I respect her wanting to multitask; however, I tend to think a walk in first come first serve rule of thumb is to give service in the order it was received. Nevertheless, she did a nice job and was very sweet. She charged $30 per hand. I was expecting $15 "per hand" but I think it was due to copying a design and it stretched on one side of the hand to forearm. My tip is to bring in the photo to communicate what you have in mind and ask what she will charge before doing it. :) read more

I'm only giving one star because the face threading was ok. I came in for my face threading yesterday at the recommendation of my friend and, while I was here, noticed the place looked decent/clean and the lady was very friendly so I asked about waxing. She instantly told me they have this great wax, they replace the applicator for everyone, and was super eager to show me, so I opted to try it out. BIG MISTAKE!!! Upon getting undressed (it was a Brazilian y'all), she tells me the wax they use for this region is diff than the one she told me about at the front desk. This is a chocolate wax (no you can't eat it). I didn't really care what kind of wax so told her that's fine. She took the first wooden applicator, applied the wax, then took the same wooden applicator and dipped it back in the wax!! I told her "you are going to use new applicators each time you dip the wax right?" And her response was "oh yes yes, up here on this area it's ok to double dip. When I get to lower region I will use new one each time." Ummm gross, I should have just gotten up right there and walked out but I was honestly in shock. I let her finish the most painful waxing experience of my life (with all new wooden applicators after I called her out) and l got up, paid, tipped as always, and left. I was freaking out like if she double dipped for me, who knows how many other clients she double dipped...which led me to only freak out more and start my google search on potential skin diseases I can get from that wax. I'm now a little more calm, just feel like an idiot for not walking out immediately. I figured it's best if I at least warn you guys to avoid this place for any wax service. Even though the threading was fine, it wasn't any better than other places I've been to. After the wax debacle, I definitely won't be going back (this is probably what I get for trying to save time and cheating on my wax specialist at European Wax)...never again!! There should be a Sweet Salon in every city! Customer Service - on point! awesome, courteous, understanding - I can't even! Wash and Dry - $35 (great price, especially in this area!) Atmosphere - Trendy and clean! Final Product - Exactly what I wanted! I was in Dallas for my niece's wedding and was in dire need of a place to style my hair a bit (my hair is coarse, unruly, it's very difficult to manage, even though I have japanese straight permed it). Sweet Salon was my superhero, my knight in shining armor and my fairy godmother all in one lol I'm serious when I say this place is awesome! The staff was so sweet, communicated well and patient with me (I've had bad hair experiences before and it's so hard for me to trust a new hair stylist, I ask question on question lol) It was the day of the St. Patty's day parade and I get that it's hard to find people to come but Sweet Salon made it happen - the person that took my call took my information, made it a point to call me back to schedule a time and my stylist was knowledgeable, when I showed him a picture he knew what I wanted and gave me exactly that! I can get antsy, but he calmed me through it and I was very happy with the final product! My mother made an appt too, the stylist she had was really great as well and he even gave us recommendations to cake places (thanks so much!! Eatzi's is the bomb!!) as we weren't from the area! Halfway through her hair styling, the FOH came up to me to let me know that since the stylist was late for my moms appt, they were not going to charge us for her styling! Needless to say, I was blown away - could this place get any better? Obviously, we could not tip enough! Sweet Salon really lives up to it's name! First time I went, phenomenal. My brows were perfect! The second and third time, a different person threaded my brows and was so aggressive that it made my skin bleed/scar! Not to mention, parking can be difficult to find during the busy hours of the day. It's definitely a hit or miss for me and I will probably not be going back. :( read more

Edit from last review 10/23: Punita contacted me apologizing and asked me to come in to re-do the henna. Her sister was there and did an amazing job re-doing it. I lived my eyebrows when Punita did them and the only thing I was disappointed with was that the henna didn't last. I will come back to the business because of their customer service. Why is there one person working on one of their busiest days?? Very odd great service as usual but very displeased with the time spent waiting. She also kindly asked me to wait outside. But when another girl walked in she let her stay? Not feeling valued as a customer. If I knew only one person would have been working I would have gone somewhere else. Location is next to Ketchup burger bar... almost incognito. I pass it all the time on my way to adult beverages and met some of the folks while drinking at Ketchup. I'm not your avg gal when it comes to hair. I've done platinum, fire red, black, pink, shaved... I get bored super easy. I also love a hair dresser that like to talk trash and keep you entertained. Service is fantastic, price is unbeatable... especially in this area. Don't be stupid and buy into the hype around the corner, you'll get no better cut and color then this! Just started going to Sweet Salon because a friend told me they're less expensive than other places in the uptown area that do the SAME SERVICE FOR LESS! Ground floor of the Post building on the corner of Hall and Cole (entrance on Hall). There is a parking garage for the Post building tenants and customers of businesses there (2 hour limit) if you're there longer the tow truck nazis will tow your ass. This was the first time I have been to sweet salon and I only got a haircut and style. It is a small studio by Ketchup burger bar. The people were friendly, said hello, and offered me a beverage very quickly (Yay!). I am picky about my hair and how short people cut it because I'm trying to grow it out. I was relieved when Kristin did such a great job!!! She didn't cut it too short and cleaned up my look very nicely. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the fact that I didn't have much done to my hair so I don't feel qualified to give it a full blown 5. The pricing was quite reasonable especially for this part of town, it's hard to find good prices! read more

Worst experience ever. I wouldn't give them not even a star. I got there and no one talks to me. After 5 minutes I decide to ask the lady that is taking care of the only other customer if she will be able to take care of me, since I had an appointment but no one has communicated anything to me yet. She said yes, and nothing else, so I sat on one of the chairs. After another 10 minutes, the guy that was sitting outside having lunch, approaches me and tells me he's going to do my hair. Seriously? Ok, I need to get this done. My engagement party is 40 minutes away now. So blows dry my hair, and per my request I get some curls. After he's done, he applies this awful product that makes my hair look and feel like straw. By now my hair is a disaster, to the point that I washed as I rushed Back home. Thanks for ruining my day. I was invited to my first Indian wedding so I wanted to get my first set of henna tattoos. I googled some photos to take in and the girl was able to do such a great job. I'm sorry, I forgot her name. I did both of my hands, to the wrist, and it was $15 per hand because of the intricacy of it. I checked in on Yelp so I was able to get 20% off. I would highly recommend this place for henna tattoos. I had the traditional henna, the darker brown versus the red henna. Mine lasted about 1 week but it was said it could last up to 2 weeks depending on how often you wash your hands etc. read more

Heather is just such a wonderful self made person at the root of it all, but she's a wonderful stylist as well. I've gone to her a few times for cuts already but at 27, I decided to finally for the first time in my life get my hair highlighted for my upcoming wedding a week away. I can often appear very olive complected depending on how much sun I've had with naturally warm brunette hair that seemed to be losing it's natural highlights and shine recently. I told her I still wanted to look like myself, but as if I had just spent the summer lounging around in the Mediterranean. I was completely foreign to trying to explain what I was interested but she managed to piece through my thoughts and 20 pinned photos to gauge my wants and gave her valuable feed back to my skin tone and pigment for what would look best on me. Most things I had read for people with my skin and hair color did not make lightening up my look seem very promising or likely but I hoped it could be done. She talked me through the entire process, explained what led her to the particular brands she uses, and made me feel at home immediately. She 100% delivered- to the point where my fiance said I looked great when I walked in but had no clue I had anything done but a hair cut.
