After ten years of owning Winnebago RV's, we finally made it to the 'mother ship' to get some recalls handled that we felt more comfortable having the factory complete. They assigned us a 'power only' camping spot but we needed to get some work done so reserved a hotel room nearby. We arrived on Sunday and got her parked outside the service facility. They give you an insulated bag that contains waters, snacks etc. they have free popcorn too as well as several vending machines with food and drink. They open right at 7a and they will give you back your rv at 3p. Then you do it again if needed. They have electric only camping spots if needed. There is a visitor center across the street so definitely take the time to go, we did not do the 2 1/2 hour Tours we did not have time. So we spent about 45 minutes wandering around the different displays reviewing the history, they even have a movie running that shows all the different Winnebago models that have been in a variety of shows like Independence Day or escape to witch Mountain, that was fun If you need to refresh some of your T-shirts, they have a giant clearance table with some of those shirts were only five dollars from past events, quite the deal They also had some campers on display from days gone by and that's always a lot of fun to look at them They finished our unit on the second day by about 1 PM, so we are all caught up on our recalls and our awning should be working great now and we are going to hit the road They also had some parts in stock that we want to have extra on hand so we were able to purchase those and store them in the RV. They have an excellent waiting room, with wi-Fi and there were many people working because they waited for their repair. They have popcorn, coffee, and vending machines with lots of snacks. Our tech worked with us for two days and explained everything that he did, so we're glad we made the trip to have all of our warranty work done at the factory read more

As i full-time RV'er, i greatly appreciate and rely on the folks in Forest City to help keep my 2016 View road worthy. I love my RV and they are keen on helping me keep it going strong. I've been there a good number of times and really appreciate the incredibly friendly and helpful staff--and the fact that they will take walk in "nonscheduled" appointments (you will need to wait until they can get you in, but they always do, and they even have free campsites with power and access to water/dump for you you while you wait! -- a godsend when something goes wrong and you cannot wait until regular service places can get you in). And the work is very good, fast (once they get you in), reasonably priced - and they stand behind everything they do, which is what matters most to me. One other perk-since you are at the 'mothership', they can usually get the parts right off the shelf! It gives me much peace of mind knowing that they are always there, ready to help! read more

The right hand doesn't talk to the left here. I was promised my RV recall would replace the problem at hand but they did a patchwork job while damaging my coach in the process. The new toilet doesn't work correctly, the bathroom door does not work, and my wobbly dinette is worse. They promised everything would be fixed but they will not provide a loaner for creating more issues that will leave me without a vehicle for weeks. They refuse to take any accountability for the damage they caused. read more

But when it comes to the customer and providing good service, forget it because they make you feel like you don't count. They do not accept additional warranty policies anymore here at the factory .... They will not even call to get you pre-approved for the work. This change in policy here at the factory has made it very difficult to use your very expensive additional warranty insurance policies. While we sat here, we listened to many other customers that found out when they would not even call to get pre-approval for all the work. We all would pay the bill and mail in the receipt in, but if you do not get pre-approval the adjusters for the warranty company will pay less or nothing at all. read more

It has now been four months since the purchase an there is no progress on the repair.

First off I bought a 2025 Winnebago Porto it was not disclosed that the Sprinter chassis was built in late 2022 . Winnebago refused to replace the windshield wipers saying they are a wear item . I only own the thing for 5 months and only used the wipers a few times before they fell apart. A 90 dollar item. Yeah thanks Mercedes. Second the leveling Jack's have very little ground clearance causing me to pay for them being replaced at my expense after running over a small curb. Be really careful if you have a Sprinter based RV. It has been in General RV's shop now for 3 weeks now and expect ir to be in the shop for another 2 weeks waiting for parts . I wouldn't buy another Winnebago or shop at General RV ever again. read more

We bought a new 2021 36ft 5th wheel RV, and the clear coat on the front cap started flaking after one year. It's been stored under cover, washed only with RV-safe products, and had paint protection applied by the dealer. Despite this, Winnebago and the dealer won't help, blaming each other . I just purchased a brand new Winnebago Forza 34T. The day after I got it home, I noticed water coming in from the passenger side front window when it was raining. I reached up behind the blinds in between the drop down bed where you can't see and the whole wall was rotten took it back to the dealer they removed the bed, and the framing and you can see the wall is crumbling apart. You can bust it with your finger. it's so wet and rotten that there's mold and even mushrooms growing out of the wall. This Friday will be and I can't get Winnebago to help me at all, and the bus is still at the dealership with no word of what's going on. When I went to look for where the water may be coming in, I found out that the seals on the roof, barely had any ceiling on it and we're all wide open to let water come in. Also underneath the awning where the roof mates to the sidewall is not sealed properly and has about a 5 to 6 inch gap or water can come in. This damage is all caused by manufacturing defects and lack of quality control . This is a brand new. I've never used it and found this rotten wall. The day after I paid $227,000 for it. read more

For my #1000 review, I am dedicating this special Yelp review, for our love with the outdoors. I hope you enjoy. I've been asked a handful of times, what I love most about our Rialta made by Winnebago. I'd probably have to say.... it's the size. It will clear most fast food drive-thru. Hahaha.... I'm also sharing my RV experience here in hopes that I can help someone out there, looking to purchase one. I would also encourage you to checkout other manufactures so you can get a feel for the type of Van/RV that will fit best with your lifestyle. We've owned our Winnebago Rialta for a long time. However, we rarely take it out for trips until recently. It has very low miles. BTW - the Rialta is no longer manufactured. I believe 2005 was its last production at the Winnebago factory in Iowa. So with that in mind - "Why did we go with a Winnebago?" --Reputation - Winnebago have been making RV since the late 1950s. Winnebago also came highly recommended from many owners I met including friends and family. It is also made here in the U.S. --Customer service - they have great customer service, at least from our personal experience. We've called them a handful of times about the Warranty and parts on our Rialta, and they have always been very helpful. --Build - we think Winnebago are built to withstand many terrain and weather. We've taken ours in some of the most severe conditions, and it held up well. Probably the most exciting part about owning a Winnebago RV.... the amenities home away from home.... so here's a quick run down: --Restroom - it comes with an on suite bathroom with toilet and shower. Even has a hot running water. It also has an outdoor shower which we have used many times to wash our dogs after running at the beach. --Self contained - it has a fresh water tank, gray/black holding tank, built in generator, propane and tow package --Electricity - it can connect to shore power which comes in handy at campsites --Kitchen - has stove, fridge (runs on battery, propane or electric), sink, a microwave and a small dinette --Moon roof - perfect for letting light in and at night, it's amazing. --Built in roof TV antenna - fully equipped with direct cable plugs for two TVs, but we've never used it as we're always outside. --Roof Air - the A/C is great during hot weather and can run when the generator is on. It has kept our RV Van cool even when temperature was above 100 degrees. --Central heat - Our built in propane runs our RV central heat and works fantastic during cold weather. We were camping out in the desert and temps went below 10 degrees, and we were warm and toasty inside. What we especially love about our Winnebago Rialta? --Gas saver - I get about 18mpg especially if I drive like an old man which I do. I can easily get close to 300 miles until the next gas. Not bad for all that weight in a motorhome and you get the best of both worlds. German engineering by Volkswagen, and a reliable company like Winnebago. --Low profile - it drives like a mini-van so we don't get a lot of head wind on the highway because it's aerodynamic (see photos). Length - it's only about 21 feet long so it can fit in most parallel parking in San Francisco, and can fit in between a diagonal parking space like at Wal-Mart, Target and so on. --Height - it's close to 9 feet tall so it will clear almost any drive-thru. This is very convenient especially when you are press for time and just want to get off the highway, order right from your vehicle without having to get out, and hop back on the road. In regards to upgrades - here were the major additions/changes: --Solar roof - we've added 3 - 100 watts flexible solar. --Generator - brand new 2500 watts Cumin generator that runs directly from the gas tank --Laminate floors - took off the carpet and replaced it with laminate flooring starting from behind the cockpit. --Inverter - we added a built in 1000 watts inverter running from the roof solar. This can power my coffee maker and our electronic devices --LED lights - replaced all lights to LED. Even a brand new RV fell apart within a few months. Every large item stopped working (generator, fridge, stove, air conditioner, propane to the RV, sink faucet, the floor...). Was not logistically possible for me to get everything fixed before the warranty expired. They would not help. I wish there was a way they could be held accountable for how terrible their RVs are. It was absurd to have 30+ things go wrong within 30 days, then they would only fix 1-2 items at a time and often need multiple attempts at fixing them as they would break again. The floor turned black. They replaced it. They specifically stated they saw water under the floor but did not find the source of the leak and then proceeded to replace the floor anyway. Then without any surprise the floor started turning black again. I was told they only fix something like that once but the repair center clearly told me they didnt actually fix the leak. They saw water, werent sure where it was coming from, then still just replaced the floor. I cannot even begin to explain how much of a headache this brand new Winnebago RV has been since day one of owning it and Winnebago was terrible with all of it. read more

If you have a 2016-17 Winnebago Travato be aware that there is still a problem with the Power Transfer switch. There was a recall as follows: Part 573 Safety Recall Report 16V-598 - the connections were not torqued correctly on the power transfer switch leading to overheating and melting of wires. We are 3rd owners and my guess is that we were the first to use the AC on generator mode in hot weather. After 2 hours we could smell an acrid and distinctive smell of burnt wires. Turned everything off and got home safely. The following day I went to start generator. It ran but no power to system. Located the power transfer switch and as described in the recall the wire from the generator was burnt and melted. I contacted Winnebago and they claimed that this model is not covered by the recall. Indeed, when I put our vin number in on the NHTSA site it does not show a recall. But obviously this is the problem. It was very disappointing that they did not even attempt to do anything about this potentially very dangerous situation. Just stonewalled me saying its not covered. I now have purchased a new switch unit and will be installing myself - using a specialized torque screwdriver to ensure the connections are correct. For very little cost they could have done the right thing and either had a local dealer fix this or, even give me some credit towards purchasing the replacement part. Of course, if this was anything else I would not expect anything to be done because its not subject to a recall and the warranty has long expired. Typical of big companies short term attitude. For a very small expense (which I am sure they could write off) they would have had a dedicated customer. Going forward Winnebago is not going to be the first I look at when choosing a new RV. read more

I bought my 2108FBS Minnie Winnie new in 2021. I have used it 4 times. Every time that I used it something broke on it. It has been in the shop at least 10 times. I have had to repair wall panels, the water heater, and now, I have to pay out of my own pocket over $1000 to replace 1 of the motors and the wiring harness on the slide. Since Winnebago does not care if they sell junk I am filing a Lemon Law claim and attaching a banner to the trailer to warn others not to buy Winnebago until try want it in the shop more often than you get to use it. It has had other repairs as well, too many to list here. Do not buy Winnebago unless you want a money pit. read more

After going through the myriad of options I finally got a female representative who I could barely hear who I told I could barely hear her then she hung up on me. On one attempt I left my number and a brief message on why i was calling. When they called back I explained to the female representative the difficulty I was having in finding someone to help me. I told her exactly what I needed and she transferred me back to the same number I had numerous issues with in trying to talk to a live person who wouldn't hang up on me or transfer me. After reading the other reviews concerning the horrendous customer service at Winnebago I don't feel like this is an isolated issue. If you're considering buying a Winnebago and develop problems with it that necessitate calling Winnebago customer service I would suggest you grab a cup of coffee, a nice cigar. Then be prepared to wade through numerous phone options, a very long wait only to be transferred or simply hung up on. read more

This is my fifth RV, and my third brand-new Winnebago. The quality of the parts and construction has been getting worse over the years. The motorhome (Winnebago Spirit 25b) looks good from a distance but all the imperfections show upon closer inspection. Fit and finish is horrible. Rough, jagged wood splintering throughout. The cabinets are not real wood. Cabinets made of compressed sawdust covered with woodgrain-look vinyl stickers that are peeling and bubbling everywhere. I noticed this the day I got it home. The first few new Class C Winnebagos I looked at had massive rust coating almost all the metal underneath the units. These were all brand-new motorhomes at the dealerships. read more

My Winnebago has been a nightmare from day one, first I had to return to the dealer 3 times to have the initial problems fixed which were the DVD player did not work and several of the safety systems did not work. Then after less than a year I had to replace the catalytic converter, seal several leaks in the roof completely overhaul the hydraulic leveling system, reseal the LP lines and several other problems. The list isn't over there. The things that are still wrong with it are, the rear panel is separating from the side panel, The plumbing for the hot water leaks in several locations, and the thumb controls for the entertainment system and the hands free do not work. My suggestion is that if you are even considering a Winnebago DON'T. read more

We purchased a 2019 Spirit 22M in 2018. We went with Winnebago because of their reputation for quality. We are very disappointed in the quality of our motorhome. Maybe they don't put the same effort into the smaller motorhomes. We had six items that needed repair that should have been found and fixed at the factory. The dealer also didn't fix them before we picked up the unit, but that is another review. The worst deficiency is that the microwave did not work. It took us months to get that resolved. Also the latch on the refrigerator did not catch resulting in the door opening up with each right turn. We had to prop it shut with a walking stick. There are also not enough latches on the drawers. The one in the bedroom kept opening up and slamming shut on acceleration and braking. Those are the worst. There were other minor issues. They also did nothing to improve the stock cab from Ford. You would expect something for a nice motorhome. It came with basic factory seats, manually adjust rear view mirrors (allen wrench required), no floor mats, no outside temperature gauge or clock. The quality in materials and installation is not what we expected. Take a close look before you buy. I recommend you spend a night at the dealer when you pick it up so you have time to find all the deficiencies and get them fixed before you take it off the lot. read more

All the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Manny helped identify the issue and knew exactly how to correct it. Two hours later we are back on the road as happy Winnebago customers. Lost all battery and shore power capabilities two weeks in and in trying to contact Winnebago, he gets passed around and basically ignored. I was about to buy a Winnebago in Toronto. A new 2022, however I wanted to see if any warranty work could be performed in Stitsville at VOS Trailers an authorized Winnebago dealership. I was told they woul not service any Winnebago bought at another dealership. So Winnebago loses a sale and I will never buy anything from VOS Trailers. We bought a 2017 Paseo new, and it was an electrical nightmare for two years. On the first two trips, the house battery wouldn't charge except when you drove it; neither the solar panel nor shore power charged the battery. For two years, our refrigerator crapped out every time we took it on the road. We'd take it in to get fixed, and they'd say they it worked. For a few hours maybe. We went on a two month trip right after they said it was good to go and as soon as we hit the state line it failed again. We took it in to another dealer and they said it worked fine. For another 3 hours and then it failed. When the plastic parts on the bike rack start to crack and fail, you are expected to buy a complete new rack ($1100) because they don't sell individual parts. And when the warranty expires, they won't even talk to you on the phone. read more

I bought a new 2021 Travato GL from Sunshine state RV. However I live in Los Angeles Ca. I have the van for more that a month .My refrigerator doesn't work at all. I called four times to the 2 dealers which own 3 dealerships each I left 4 messages each ,I called again this morning the receptionist said that she did her job she sent the emails. I also called Nova Kool they referred me a place 65 miles from me I left 2 messages no one call back. I even called Winnebago and explained my problem they cannot do nothing to help me .I told the gentleman that Winnebago gives a year warranty but no one can gives service there is a problem here. People in L.A. say that it take at least 2 to month a appointment.Something is very wrong . I decided to go to Florida they say the will take care of the problem. I purchased a new 2019 winnebago forza. I have had nothing but problems on top of problems with it from the very start. Every time I used it it broke down. It has been in the shop more than on the road . Good luck getting it fixed with the warranty. The warranty is worthless. I don't know how winnabago is still In Business selling garbage like this. When you call customer service you will get no help from them. They will tell you there is nothing we can do. It's between you and you service center. I can't believe the problems we have had with a brand new 2020 Winnebago Adventurer 30T. To start, the new Infotainment system doesn't have Nav or Apple CarPlay and the bezel is clearly poorly attached...it's hanging out and the dealership said they would try to reattach with screws. During initial inspection of the RV, the exterior radio was broken, the RV required an alignment, the only entry door wouldn't latch. The Dealership attempted to fix, but during first trip out, the door is clearly not shutting flush and one of the two bolt locks is broken. The first time emptying the black tank, the pull handle just broke off, so we had to use pliers to pull out the knob. As we were driving down the road, the drivers side mirror starting getting shaky and then fell off on the highway...thank goodness someone in a car behind us wasn't injured. The headboard is not attached well to slide out wall. This is terribly embarrassing shoddy workmanship from Winnebago. They should be ashamed of selling a RV that MSRP's for over $170k. just bought a one owner 2012 Winnebago one 26RK, first trip out the door on the outside shower(docking area) literally flew off hot vehicle behind me plastic just broke off. As if that's not annoying enough call customer service transfer transfer transfer speak to someone can't help transfer I'm Not a dealer so can't help me. For as expensive as these units are they are junk. I spoke to previous owner that's why they traded this unit looked brand new was well cared for and then pieces just start flying off while I'm driving it's not like this unit is 29 Years old. I'm not generally motivated to write a review if I cannot give five shiny ones, lol! This is an exception however. Based strictly on personal experience I am driven to say that Winnebagos quality is more skin deep than I would have expected. Given that they've been around for as long as they have, one would expect research and development (R&D) is squarely in place but eveidently it's not. Our 2006 Itasca Navion (Winnebago coach) has been nothing but a joy to own and use on camping and other vacation trips over more than a decade now. It comes with MBs 5cyl. Turbo charged 2.7 liter bullet proof engine. I simply love driving it esp. since it easily gives me 18/23 mpg. and that with a full load (6 people min.) and it's an absolute joy to drive. I'm even more elated to say from what I'm told, that it's not available new (as we purchased it) in the U.S. Assuming that's accurate, I'd like to hang on to it, even though we seldom use it now in our retirement years. Ironically that's when most people tend to use such an unit for leisurely enjoyable trips and vacations as well. For the records the current odometer reading is 64,000 miles in 13 years. It's barely broken in and drives like it did on day one. That being said, the number one reason for a drop in use in the last few years is that Winnebago's lack of solid quality when paired with the Mercedes Sprinter is quite glaring. They certainly could have at least put more meaningful integrity into such an unit that cost us more than any of our investments in vehicles over that same period. Fortunately the Car and SUV (about the same model years) are in great shape thoughout and are keepers for sure. Not so in the case of the motorhome and mostly all due to Winnebago's little nagging replacements we've had to take time and effort, not to mention costs incurred, to keep it in par with the MB Sprinter. After doing all the itsy bitsy fixes, we have decided to put it up for sale. Regrettable since that was clearly not why we took out the loan, with dreams of plans on our bucket list of European trips as well as extended trips across our own wonderful and diverse country. Anyway, as it's sits now we would be happy to just pay the bank off with the balance or have someone take over the remainder of the payments, when we do sell it. I'm confident that whoever takes it off our hands would be the beneficiaries of a quality motorhome. I can't begin to express how sorry I am to have come to this juncture. One I never ever foresaw. Not due to lack of enthusiasm or loyalty but due to frustration and loss of motivation on my part. I can only point to those little inequities and poor quality of the Winnebago components I've had to spend so much time and energy that could have been better used for other more meaningful family matters/priorities. I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that there is such a casual attempt on Winnebago's part. It speaks volumes when they use such hobby shop, low quality after market type parts with haphazard workmanship in some areas. They need to take more genuine pride in their manufacturing ethics, dedication to quality parts and workmanship. Over those frustrating times when runnng around to make the necessary time consuming fixes, my nick name for them has become 'Winnebagel', lol! Just saying that is how I feel now. Disillusioned! Zero stars if I could. Did you know that Winnebago takes ford chassis parts out and uses aftermarket suppliers. Specifically with their dash air units, I have a 2018 Winnebago Sightseer 33c that has a dash air unit that has never worked. It blows hot air. I have taken it to Ford twice and they will not cover it (5400 miles on the coach), because there are aftermarket parts that were installed by Winnebago. Winnebago customer services confirmed they use an after market a/c product. The dealer (Camping World and their extended warranty policy) will not cover it because it's not part of the coach. I'm out over $600 because of these shady companies. I would never buy a new motor home, it's much better to buy used where most of the issues have been dealt with. When I bought this unit, the camping world people told me I would have major issues with the coach for the first year. It's been almost 3. This review deals with quality and after-sale support from Winnebago Industries. We have owned two Itasca motorhomes over the years, a Phasar from back in the 80s that we used when our kids were younger to tour the country, and have had a Navion (based on the Mercedes Sprinter cab/chassis since 2007. Overall, the quality of these vehicles was superb. Yes, they are fragile, to an extent, and a number of the inside components are off-the-shelf parts that may or may not be the best. But overall, the design of these vehicles, the solid fiberglass roofs built to stand up to years of weather and not leak, has been great. Anyway, what prompted this review today was I have to replace a few trim pieces that were damaged when we loaned our RV to our niece. It is not hard to imagine that finding a trim piece for a 12-yr-old motorhome could be a daunting affair with some manufacturers. NOT Winnebago. There are no dealers close by (we drove 150 miles to buy it!) but you can call Winnebago parts directly to order if you need to. Sure enough, they have my damaged trim pieces in stock and they will ship tomorrow. More importantly, the person who took care of us, Erika Reed, from the parts department, was SO nice and helpful; she quickly got our order in the system and no messing around with waiting on hold. She is a pro. Winnebago is a solid outfit, well-organized and equipped to provide after-market service and support. Their online parts lookup is incredibly easy to use, too. If I could.vive zero I would.2019 travato bought brand new.Stay away from this company. They sell junk. Nothing is set right. Generator crapped out 3 days after purchase. 4 months later roof leak that destroyed my guitar, it's a baby Taylor. All my camping equipment got soaked, the roof is smelling from water damage. Outlets are all not set in cabinets correctly, my truma hardly works. The table got scratched from a paper plate. Where the bed goes down the screws are eat iij ng away at the wood that holds the bed up. The bed sucks by the way. The ram promaster has been the only good thing about this piece of junk. I wish i could leave a zero star rating. Do not buy a Winnebago!!!!. Bought our Spyder in 2016 used twice and the A/c unit needed to be replaced this july . 115 degrees in vegas and was told that it would 3-4 weeks before i could get into a dealer well by that time the P.O.S was out of warranty. So i paid out of pocket and contacted Winnebago was told that they would not assist me in anyway by Tony Chupp. Just over a year old and they blew me off. Will never buy thier product ever again. read more

Pros: Models on display to show the drastic improvements. The latest models are mind-boggling. Complimentary campsites included with tour. Observation deck enables maximum view of assemble line. Cons: Marketing pitch. Workers do not seem to abide by safety standards like wearing of ear plugs or keeping the plant clean, probably due to pressures to meet aggressive daily production goals. read more
