The Subaru Dealership in Dover has terrible service practices. They charged me $90 to look at fixing my rear-view mirror which had fallen off of mount. This is a camera screen that they told me would need to be replaced for $1,600. So I had to pay $90 to be told they could not help me. After all, the camera and screen all worked fine. It simply needed to be re-mounted. I took my car to a different Dealership and they were able to mount it at no charge. I have spoken to the Service Manager who never gets back to me. Thus I went to the Sales Manager. He told me he would get back to me next day. 3 weeks later I have not heard from him either. I would NOT recommend buying or servicing a car from this dealership. Winner Subaru Services - Schedule at your own risk I canceled my appointment with Winner Subaru and valet services, and I doubt that I will schedule any service with them in the future. Winner Subaru initially overbooked the valet service and requested that I change my service date from Wednesday to Thursday. However, the valet service did not arrive at the guaranteed time or at the rescheduled time on Thursday. Winner Subaru is unable to manage or provide the simple service of scheduling their valet service. Winner Subaru's lack of attention to service details is concerning. It is likely that Winner Subaru overbooked the technicians and mechanics as well, resulting in poor service and a lack of quality in the work performed by them. I contacted Winner Subaru to schedule the first service on my Subaru Forester. The service advisor was helpful and informed me that the valet service was complimentary on your first service visit with Winner Subaru. I decided to take advantage of the valet service and scheduled the appointment for Wednesday. On the Tuesday prior to my appointment, Winner Subaru contacted me and explained that they had overbooked the valet service and wanted to know if they could reschedule me to Thursday. I confirmed that the valet service would pick up my Subaru at 9:00 AM on Thursday, so I agreed to the change. On Thursday at 9:45 AM, I received a call from Winner Subaru informing me that they were experiencing difficulties with their valet service. However, the individual was on his way and would be at my home in 40 minutes. At 10:50 AM, I called to inform Winner Subaru that the valet service had not arrived at my home. I was informed that Winner Subaru had just contacted the individual and that he would be pulling into my driveway in a few minutes. At 10:56 AM, I called to cancel my appointment and valet service. The valet service had not arrived, and I was informed that the individual was 5 minutes away and would be pulling into the driveway in a minute. read more

I'd been their steady customer for 8 years. Probably spent 10k over the years there. Bought a used truck from them for 24k - this week. truck had to be jumped and then towed to their lot after 3 battery fails. They didn't have the battery they wanted in their stock so they charged me $450 to get one...I said c'mon, I just brought it here last week and I'm getting other things done can we make it $350.....'boss says no'. I have no trust or faith in this dealership whatsoever. For example, a few months ago, I brought my car in for an oil change and the technician said that my tires had dry rot. I told them I would have to talk to my husband so nothing was done. Please note the dealership was having a tire sale that week. My husband examined the tires and found no evidence of dry rot so the tires were not placed. Since that visit, the car has been in for service again for an oil change and no mention was made about my tires having dry rot. We've had other instances similar to this. The nightmare with Winner Subaru began on July 26th, 2017 when I drop off my car to diagnose a problem. Winner Subaru determined that the vehicle needed a head gasket. Without signing anything they began the repair of my vehicle. The cost of the repair at Winner Subaru was $4,100.00, this was $1,300 more than two other Subaru dealerships in the area. My car was not drivable so I could not bring it to another dealership. Winner Subaru held my car hostage until I paid in full. It gets worse. Since the repair by Winner Subaru on July 26th 2017 the car has broken down 4 times. It was towed today, September 29th, 2017 for the second time, which is over 2 months since the original repair and the car is still not correct. They returned the car with parts they broke and did not replace, ie. engine cover bolt and the red protective cover on the positive battery terminal. Also, the coolant reservoir was empty even though I paid for two quarts of coolant. See photos for proof. Subaru of America customer service has been involved all along. Due to the most recent a breakdown they have now agreed to let me bring the car to another dealership to determine what is wrong with the car and complete the repair. We are convinced that Winner Subaru is not capable of repairing my vehicle. Finally, I let Winner Subaru know that I would be disputing the payment with Chase Visa. Chase Visa contacted Brett, the service manager at Winner Subaru for information about the dispute. After hearing from Chase Visa about their discussions with Brett, it is now clear that Winner Subaru is being dishonest and making many misstatements about the repair and what has occurred with each and every breakdown. Avoid anything to do with Winner Subaru. Because of what occurred I can't see how anybody could be a winner when dealing with the Winner Auto Group. It's more than likely that the entire Winner Auto Group does business just like Winner Subaru. WHY TAKE A CHANCE, GO ELSEWHERE! Never again. I'm trying to negotiate to buy my 4th Subaru SUV. The sales staff had seen my trade-in and gave me a price. They also gave me a list of $2000 worth of work it needed.....all untrue,except for the tires and the rear brakes. A week later, after I got brakes and tires, I was told over the PHONE that I could get $14,000 for my trade-in. I drove an hour to make a deal, and I was greeted with the fact that I was not going to get that amount, but instead $12,000. I felt like that agreement was a 'hand-shake'. It was a lie. I am so angry about the sales tactics, that I am no longer buying a Subaru anywhere. They have lost a sure thing customer. read more

Didn't have a bad experience. Had a pleasant experience with the only employee I've dealt with twice. And to my knowledge, everything they told me about my vehicle was true; no reason to doubt them. I did speak to another employee who crossed my path. He did not feel like acknowledging me.. whatever. My beef is with the service prices. This place has a nickel-and-dime feel to it. Maybe that's the norm and I'll find that at other dealerships. Maybe it's not. Given the smallness of our state and the limited number of options for service on a Subaru at a Subaru dealership, I may have no choice but to endure this but I'm still calling it out and I'm still going to a more highly rated dealership next time. Recently bought a Audi TTRS from Winner the staff was very nice, however the car was bought with no warranty it was Delaware State Inspected. I immediately brought the car to my Maryland Inspection station It passed however it needed rear shocks which were very expensive even though the car has no warranty Winner should have made whole on the shocks. I also had my speed shop confirm the rear shocks were blown. Would I buy another car from this company sure they are nice people am I happy no. It's not worth my time to chase them for the money I run a large company and my time is valuable they should have done a better job there was lot of small issue my speed shop cleared up the battery hold down cover was in pieces they took the time and put it back together the sway bar bushing were torn as well so much for their inspection. read more

Found the car I wanted set up an appointment got a confirmation email at 09:09 that morning, drove the hour and a half from Philadelphia to find out that the car was "sold" last night. IF it was sold last night why not call me then or email me, why confirm my appoint a half hour before your follow up email? Went on the website I used to find this car and a car with ALL the exact details is in inventory but $1,000 less. This is a dealership with no honor. I have bought an 2015 Outback and traded it in for a 2019. I love the Outback and give the dealership high ratings. The Sales department I would give 3+ stars but the Service dept. deserves five+ stars. My youngest daughter who has had five Subarus between her husband and herself and talked us into getting the 2015. The 2019 Outback is a wonderful car. A very safe car to drive. My only negative with Sales is that when we bought the 2015 Outback with almost all extras, I had to buy the cargo net. I spent $35K and they wouldn't throw in the cargo net. Avoid this dealership like the plague. It seems they like to play "bait and switch". They are still advertising an automobile (2016 Subaru Outback) at an exceptionally good price, that they already sold. When I called them about the ad, I spoke to a saleswoman and she confirmed the car was there. After an hour and a half drive and a half hour wait was told the car was sold. I have been waiting on my tags to get in. I finally got pulled over, because my temp tags were expired. So I call winner to get info on my tags, because I called the DMV and the explained that winner has had my tags for over a week. They say that its basically because I never returned there call. I want to make sure everyone understands that winner never called me. I only have one phone, so I went to the history of my phone records and found no calls or deleted messages from any of the numbers they have. I also went on line and printed out ever recieved, missed, and made call. So I call back and let them know the fact that they lied to me again. What a bunch of lying idiots. Then I go down to the DMV to get my own tags, because I got a ticket for expired tags, and they screwed up my tags also. I am a disabled vet. I signed all the papers for the DMV and I have copies of all the paperwork for my handicap tags. The DMV has me listed for regular tags. I had to do all the tag stuff myself. I saw a used Lincoln Navigator on their website, chatted with them about it got all the info and they invited me and my husband (who had a foot accident and can barely walk) to come a test drive the vehicle. They texted me the day before and told me to ask for the sales manager Sean Larry. We came all the way from Middletown and when we got there they said the car was sold and that the manager bought it! Needless to say we were not to happy! I don't know if this was a old bait and switch or just bad business practice. Winner Subaru more than exceeded my expectations. Very rarely have I seen the honesty and no nonsense approach to new car sales. I purchased a Outback and also recommended a friend who also purchased. The sales manager, Steve Roark, was a rare fund in the industry. He did not put on the big push with all of the aftermarket sales items. He offered explained a few questions and let us move forward without an interrogation like tactics. In 3 to 4 years I will be back to trade in for a newer model and can only hope the same staff will still be there. read more

I purchased a new car for cash. They would not let me pay my own taxes and tags. I could be as long as 2 months to get my title and tags while they are holding my money. We've owned a couple of Subarus and got one of them here back when it was Dover Volkswagen Subaru. We tried to buy the second one here after Winner took over but they didn't seem to know much about Subarus at all. Really, they knew nothing about the Guaranteed Trade-in Program....nothing at all. And Winner would not help us with questions concerning the vehicle we purchased at this location. Wish that we could trust this dealer, but we can't. Instead, we have to drive all the way to Newark for service. I hope that one day, Winner will change and grow some brains, but until then, we will have nothing to do with them. read more

I purchased a car for my daughter at Winner Subaru/Volkswagen in Dover on Monday. It should have been a happy experience but it was a nightmare. Everyone was ok except when I had to sign the contract. The financial manager or whatever you want to call her was the worse. She was rude, nasty, disrespectful and very unprofessional. I went here looking for a used car and was going to trade in my car and pay cash for the balance. First off they only wanted to give $5,000 for my 2013 Honda Accord that is like new condition with only 42,300 miles on. My elderly mom hardly drove the car and I performed every scheduled maintenance with a Honda dealer all of those years. Every other dealer who has seen the car has offered me between $8,900 and $9,200. On that alone I will not be purchasing from them because they are not far as far as trade values!!! We had such a positive experience buying our 2019 Ascent. No pressure at any point. They were very intentional about knowing our needs and only moving forward as we were comfortable. When they weren't able to find exactly what we wanted they helped us order instead of pressuring us into something else on the lot. I appreciated their honesty and understanding when we said "no" to some of the extra options. The actual buying experience was so quick. I have spent the better part of a day finalizing car sales in the past. From finding out the car was in to out the door in was only a few hours. I truly recommend this dealership and don't think the previous reviews do them justice. We are now on our third Subaru, our first from Winner Subaru. We bought the first one from Dover VW Subaru and they were wonderful. We bought it based in part on our good experience with them as a VW dealer. Then we bought the second Subaru used from a non-Subaru dealer; a terrible mistake but Dover VW Subaru got us through it. When Winner took over, we were skeptical and it did take them a while to get up to speed. The Winner Group came in with an understanding of how to run car dealerships in a general sense. They had to learn how to be a good Subaru dealer but I think they've got it figured out. read more

A surprisingly easy and satisfying service call on a Saturday morning. Called first and Service Dpt didn't immediately answer. On the second try someone who clearly wasn't service answered but was friendly and helpful and confirmed that i could come in at 10. When I arrived they had no record of my expected visit however the gal in service was very friendly and got me in for service immediately. We waited about an hour - as expected. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone. I bought a used Jeep Grand Cherokee from this dealer about three months ago. I noticed a grinding noise in between two speeds a few days after purchasing the car and took it back to them since it was under warranty. Since then, the car has been in and out of their shop for various reasons. Each time the car goes in to the shop, it comes out with another problem. On one occurrence, they attempted to diagnose a problem with the car, broke a cable, and then instead of replacing the cable, the zip-tied it back into place. They have made several attempts to fix the problem that the car originally went in for, but have still not fixed it. I was told by their service manager that if I turned the radio up loud enough, I wouldn't hear a thing... And to top everything off, after replacing some parts on my car a few weeks ago, my car now violently shakes during acceleration. Again, because it is under warranty, I returned to their shop, which was obviously a big mistake. Not even a day after it was in their possession, I began to notice very loud grinding noises coming from the front end which progressed to buckling noises, more grinding, and now I cannot drive the car at all. I have made multiple attempts to contact the owner of Winner Subaru, all of which have been unsuccessful. Needless to say, I will not be returning here for another purchase or to have my car serviced after they fix it. They have made my first car buying experience a complete nightmare. Attempted to have an oil consumption test done on my car. I received conflicting information as to when I needed to bring bring it back in, so I confirmed it with a third person. Needless to say, that person was incorrect and now I need to take my car back in 2000 miles earlier than I was told. I was told I have to have the test again and there was no offer on their part to recoup any of my charges from there previous mistake. read more

From the looks of everyone's five star reviews, I should have been helped by Mike or Mitch. The people who sold me my vehicle are the absolute WORST at customer service. They NEVER call me back and are taking their sweet time dealing with my tags. I have called several times and tried to resolve the issue for A MONTH now, to no avail. My salesperson said he would overnight me two items about two weeks ago- neither of which I've seen or heard about- one is a personal item I left in the car and the other item are the four mats that go in my car. I've probably called the dealership over a dozen times and have only spoken to my salesperson twice and the manager (who also sold me my car) once. I've left plenty of messages which are never returned and I've only spoken to them if I happen to catch them at their desk. I live out of state so it's absolutely ridiculous that I'm considering driving to Dover just to solve the issue. Furthermore, in my last call with the salesperson, he was unbelievably rude to me. The woman who is supposed to be dealing with my tags said she would call me back and I only have a certain amount of time before I lose my vanity license plate. I have done everything on my end (including solving the insurance and calling the DMV to make this easier for the dealership) and yet my hands are tied because everything I'm waiting for is on their end. Any dealership who treats their customers with this much disregard should not receive anymore business. At this point, I just want my items mailed to me and my tags to be figured out so that I can be done dealing with these people. Was lied to 3 times when trying to buy a used vehicle. #1) Jeep sticker said it came with a soft top. It did not. Was told "mistake" but was offered no money off for their $1,500 mistake. #2) said my vehicle trade in was in a "wreck". It was not. Car fax said it was not. Buyer Beware! We purchased two used cars. We made it perfectly clear that one of these cars was for our 20 year old daughter to take back to school in Boston with her. The car we picked for her was sold as us, but we still expected some form of confidence that they would not sell a car with many, many issues. We were wrong. This 4000.00 car has been in the shop 4xs, with repairs costing around the purchase price of 4000.00. I contacted the salesperson, who forwarded me to the service manager, I think his name was Brad. I let Brad know about the issues we were having. Brad assured me he would discuss this with someone and get back to me, 4 weeks later still no response. Be Leary of what you buy here, they have no reservations about selling a car with many expensive issues. AS IS should still hold some semblance of the vehicle being sound, especially coming from a dealer. I'll take my chances with s private seller from now on.
