My half of a Chicken Fried Steak dinner. Yum!

This is for the little cafe inside the Casino. The first time we stopped in, many years ago, we were headed home to Washington state and wanted a hot meal at a sit down restaurant. What treasure we found here. Then the steak and eggs were $6.99, they are a bit more these days but what isn't. This trip we had the Chicken Friend Steak with mashed potatoes, sautéed veggies and sausage gravy. Big enough to share and just as good as all the other meals we've had here. Service is always quick and friendly, in a nice clean space. They are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesday, but when open hours are good; 6:00 am-9:00pm. There is a nice big parking lot across the street and the cafe is near the front doors. Give them a try if you are passing through the area.

Burger with no lettuce snd pepper Jack cheese.

The Star Broiler has great wait staff!! a young woman who has lived in Winnemucca all her life highly recommended their burgers. She was right. It's great to have people who are paying attention to you when you're eating and wanna make sure you have what you need. Drinks arrived quickly. My hamburger was cooked and seasoned perfectly!! It really hit the spot! I come through Winnemucca about four or five times a year and I'll be stopping back to get another burger

$8.95 steak and eggs or all you can eat pasta. The first time through I hadn't really eaten all day. I was driving down the 80 when I saw the billboard. Steak and eggs, steak was thick and juicy. Eggs, hashbrowns all good. I ordered some pasta to go for my dinner when I stop for the night. First I forgot about some of my own dietary restrictions, they replaced the toast for me. Then the past was replaced too. They were so awesome I decided to eat there again a few days later on my way back. Steak was awesome this time too.

Woke up with this on my thigh.

Very to disappointing service checking in and checking out. Upon checking out I said I think you have a bug problem and I showed the person behind the counter the image of my leg and he said nothing. Glad I was able to get a last minute room, but courtesy at the desk and minimum standards of room and customer service have we're not met. Wanted to like the place, as my Dad use to live here and had fondd memories year ago.

Safe clean friendly and great food to boot!

This place is a clean safe place to gamble and eat and very much worth the drive. The best casino experience we have ever had by far..We have been in 5 states and 6 casinos in the last week in our motorhome. Inside the Star Broiler I had a great Beef Nacho and my wife had the taco salad. Both were excellent. The service was super fast and Liz was really cute and all the folks were really friendly. We were super happy when Velvet opened up the brand new crap table just for us. Lots of slots and other table games to enjoy. If you are lucky like we were, you will meet Gym the craps or blackjack dealer who produced the 20 minute video that is displayed on the big screen above the cashier. He is a blast to gamble with.

    Great dinner and great restaurant!

Great hotel for the money. Not sure why such other low reviews. Must be Bellagio expecting aristocracy. Place is fun and has a good feeling of history too. Rooms are seemingly recently refreshed, nice bathrooms. Nice desk to work at if you need to. On site restaurant is very good. $35 20 oz rib eye steak is well worth it. Plus you get 15% off coupon as a guest. Staff is friendly and nice. For a small podunk town in the middle of nowhere this is a cute and lovely hotel casino with a great restaurant!

A good stop while passing through. They have table games which some of the others places did not have. Food was okay.

Worth Every Mile If…read moreyou're traveling through Winnemucca and don't stop at the Martin Hotel, you're missing one of the true gems of northern Nevada. This isn't fancy, pretentious dining. It's honest, family-style comfort food done exceptionally well, and you can feel the history the moment you walk through the door. The portions are enormous. My partner ordered a steak sandwich and honestly thought they had accidentally brought him two sandwiches because it was that big. Trust me--you are not leaving hungry. Now for my favorite part... I decided to be adventurous and ordered the sweetbreads. I'll admit it--I had absolutely no idea what sweetbreads were. I figured maybe it was some kind of bread with gravy. Nope. Turns out I had ordered a classic delicacy made from organ meat. My partner looked it up while I was halfway through eating it and told me exactly what I was eating. Did I stop? Absolutely not. It was damn good, and I'll wear that experience like a badge of honor from now on. Sometimes the best meals happen when you step outside your comfort zone. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly, the flavors were outstanding, and the family-style meal made the experience even better. The service was warm, welcoming, and exactly what you'd hope to find in a historic restaurant that's been serving travelers for generations. The Martin Hotel isn't just another place to eat. It's an experience. It's history. It's Nevada. And I can honestly say I'll be looking forward to my next trip through Winnemucca just so I have another excuse to eat here. Highly recommended. Five stars.

The service was good and all the employees were friendly. Dinner is served family style with your party along with other parties who are seated at your table. At first I was skeptical of this, but we actually had some really good conversations with two other couples at our table. You receive complimentary starters that will be passed from one end of the table to the other. The complimentary dishes were all really good and filling. We all ordered their dinner special which was a New York strip with mushrooms and garlic. We requested extra garlic, but the garlic was pretty much raw (should have been sautéed). The New York had way too much fat which was disappointing because it was only a 10 oz. I didn't try their bread pudding because I was so stuffed with all the sides I ate, but those at our table mentioned it was delicious. The complimentary glass of wine was a nice touch to start the evening. I ordered myself a Picon drink (I believe this is their signature drink) and it was really refreshing. Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. I will definitely be a returning customer whenever I am either visiting or passing through Winnemuccca.

The mirrors were dirty, there were stains splattered on the walls, and the tile floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned. The entire room smelled unpleasant and gave the impression that housekeeping either rushed through it or skipped it altogether. What made the experience even more concerning was what happened to my friend. It took the front desk three different room assignments before he finally got a usable room because the first two rooms they gave him were already occupied by other guests. How does something like that happen? Thankfully, no one was changing clothes or in a compromising situation when he opened those doors, but that's a major privacy and safety issue that should never happen. The staff was unfriendly and showed very little concern about the problems. Even the small things were disappointing--the snack area wasn't even properly stocked, which seems like one of the easiest parts of running a hotel. Overall, this stay was far below the standards I expect from a Fairfield Inn by Marriott. Between the filthy room, poor customer service, and the serious room assignment mistake, I left extremely disappointed. I sincerely hope management reaches out and offers some form of refund or compensation because this experience was unacceptable.
