So we stopped on our way home from Idaho and stopped at the half way point in Winnemucca. This casino is cute but there is a little restaurant inside with some excellent food and service. Our server Missy gave some recommendations which my husband took her advice. She was all smiles and so friendly. Hubby had the recommended pepper jack pastrami sandwich with tater tots and I had the all you can eat spaghetti. Both were delicious. Came in for lunch on our way home. We were greeted by Missy who gave some great recommendations. The Pastrami sandwich with tater tots are so stinking good. They are a bit spicy but I love spicy food so right up my alley. The restaurant inside the casino has the typical old school restaurant vibe. Pastrami was on point, tater tots are amazeballs!! This is for the little cafe inside the Casino. The first time we stopped in, many years ago, we were headed home to Washington state and wanted a hot meal at a sit down restaurant. What treasure we found here. Then the steak and eggs were $6.99, they are a bit more these days but what isn't. This trip we had the Chicken Friend Steak with mashed potatoes, sautéed veggies and sausage gravy. Big enough to share and just as good as all the other meals we've had here. Service is always quick and friendly, in a nice clean space. They are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesday, but when open hours are good; 6:00 am-9:00pm. Amazing customer service! Roller in on a super busy weekend and they had a room that didn't quite fit us but we took it. The front office gal said they'd send up blankets and extra pillows. Woman managing the casino turned incredibly rude the minute we started winning, table staff was incredible, specifically Treeva and Sue were very kind and fun to play with even when we were losing, but the woman with short hair managing the casino tables ruined the entire experience for us. Start off with the rooms. Small, clean, tall shower nice beds. I guess some rooms have microwave mine didn't. Did have coffee and a fridge. Not a lot of thrills but good place to get some sleep. All the servers were nice and helpful only one was rude and seemed to be put out when I ordered. Even tho I tipped 20% for a Togo order and asked to have the receipt in bag. When I picked up food I asked once again for it. She roller her whole face and said it will be a while for to get that because she has to go through them. So she was an old shity person. Eggs, hashbrowns all good. I ordered some pasta to go for my dinner when I stop for the night. First I forgot about some of my own dietary restrictions, they replaced the toast for me. The casino is okay although I had NO LUCK at the slots. Whatever and no big surprise there! The three stars is because the restaurant service was awful--it took forever for a waitress to take our order or to get our bill. I just sat there watching my two enormous plates of food go cold waiting for her to pick up my credit card and charge me (more on that later...) The food wasn't great, either, but I didn't have that high of expectations. The weirdest thing happened: I ordered an appetizer, my partner ordered a sandwich, and I ordered a full meal--prawn platte. I then changed my mind to the fisherman's platter. This place has been completely remodeled and is now the nicest, cleanest most beautiful casino in Winnemucca. The casino is amazing and check out the bar with the huge roof skylight, you feel like your on an outdoor patio with how big it is and all the light it lets in. If they added a pool table or something this would be my regular hangout every weekend. Kudos to whoever planned this renovation. The casino is small and nice with the staff being cordial. I loved the paper of coupons they gave me when I checked in at the front desk. The steak at the resteraunt was good. Now the hotel room was a different story. The Ac was semi working and incredibly loud. I believe the compressor was going out, making a very strange load noise all night. They need to update their Ac units in the wall, wasn't able to sleep at all due to the noise and being hot. Also the TV on the wall was quit small. The best casino experience we have ever had by far..We have been in 5 states and 6 casinos in the last week in our motorhome. Inside the Star Broiler I had a great Beef Nacho and my wife had the taco salad. Both were excellent. The service was super fast and Liz was really cute and all the folks were really friendly. We were super happy when Velvet opened up the brand new crap table just for us. Lots of slots and other table games to enjoy. If you are lucky like we were, you will meet Gym the craps or blackjack dealer who produced the 20 minute video that is displayed on the big screen above the cashier. Great hotel for the money. Not sure why such other low reviews. Must be Bellagio expecting aristocracy. Place is fun and has a good feeling of history too. Rooms are seemingly recently refreshed, nice bathrooms. Nice desk to work at if you need to. On site restaurant is very good. $35 20 oz rib eye steak is well worth it. Hotel specifically states on their website that the casino and restaurant is open. A bit deceptive, as I was just informed at check in that the restaurant, the only restaurant, is now closed on Monday and Tuesday's. Restaurants can be a important part of choosing where you stay, it mattered to me because I didn't want to have to drive somewhere for a meal after a long day of traveling. They need to be honest and open about the state of their hotel, especially when the guest books a non refundable night and is left without options. read more

I guarantee we will not be back to the "Winners" Inn Casino! Let's begin with their restaurant... No ambiance... just looked cheap, old, and worn out. Terrible service. The server was very sweet but did not bring the sugar we had requested for our iced tea...so we finally just drank it. Two more times we had to get someone's attention to get the condiments we needed and ranch dressing that was supposed to come with the hot wings. They were delicious but again, we had to eat it without the dressing. My husband asked if it was very hot and the server said no it wasn't bad. That was incorrect and We had to trade main entrées as my husband can't eat spicy hot foods. The beef dip sandwich was very small and presented on tiny ciabatta bread. Beef tips are most often served on a good sized roll...not satisfying for a 6'2" man!! Now, as to the casino itself... there was an ashtray and ashes all over the slot machine. I looked around for someone to wipe it off and finally went to the bar, sprayed a bar towel, went back to the machine and wiped it off myself! In general, there didn't seem to be enough employees to take care of their customers... And believe me there weren't many customers. I can live with losing my money but at least let me have a little fun doing it. I lost $60 in maybe 10 minutes! I didn't hear anyone else winning either. The ambience in the casino was just depressing so we left in short order. Why would anyone want to come here? This motel will add a "deposit" on your room charge of $50 for misc.charges that you won't ever make. They advertise as pet friendly then put you in certain rooms (that cost more) and charge you an extra non refundable fee for your pet. There's no coffee in the rooms and you have to walk into the casino to the bar for coffee in the morning. There is literally nothing in the rooms, not even pictures on the wall, or cups. The wifi doesn't work at all. And the network doesn't exist. On Booking.com this place was$65, they charged me $150 and who knows if I'll get me "deposit" back. I wouldn't stay here again. read more

BEWARE -- we booked this on Priceline, which touted it as a "3-star" property. What they failed to mention was that there are two lodging areas here -- the HOTEL (attached to the casino), and the MOTEL across the street. Maybe the hotel is 3 stars....but the motel (where we ended up) was definitely not! My only real beef was the shower -- we had no hot water, and had to suffer in lukewarm/cold misery. Also, there are no coffee makers in the motel rooms -- but that's common with casinos, as they want you to have to go to the casino for it, and hopefully drop some coin at the tables while you're there. Other than that, it was fine. I did not see any bugs, nor did I wake up with any bites. Everything felt clean and safe, and the casino was just a short walk across the street. As a bonus, we happened to be there during a big Saturday night hunting gear giveaway -- 12 gauges, scopes and skinning knives were being raffled off as we checked in, and they gave us free orange/camouflage WINNERS ballcaps just for asking! I live local and won't come back. This place is a rip off so watch the bill. I was charged an extra $1.95 for a biscuit instead of toast. They never said it was an extra charge. I asked for my first responders discount and showed them my red card for wild fire fighters. 20% is a big deal now and even so when you charge me for the little biscuit. Well I'm not very good with math but 20% of $20.10 is not .59 cent. Now maybe in common core math but not normal math. I asked them at check out about it and they said that's what the machine comes up with. So I guess we live for the machine now? No idea but this place sucks now. It was good at one point in time but has gone way down hill. Won't go back and I live local. Go down the street to winnemucca inn and stay and eat. Even the police eat here! We visited the restaurant on an event weekend... the Run-a-Mucca bike rally. We had an early (5:00pm) dinner and most of the tables were empty. The booths were full, however. We were asked to seat ourselves at any clean table and the hostess followed with our utensils and napkins. So we picked the farthest seating from the door. Our waitress was very sweet and dressed for the event. She was chipper and ready to help us. I ordered the Rueben Max which was a Rueben with turkey added and no sauerkraut. It did have coleslaw on it. It came with a choice of sides and I chose onion rings. They were nice and crispy and I ordered buttermilk dressing for them with no problem. My dining partner was into a steak! He ordered a New York Steak (that he could not finish), with a cup of cream of mushroom soup, fries (his choice) a bun and a half an ear of corn. He left satisfied, with a "doggie bag". As we left, 4 of Winnemucca's Finest (their police) came in to eat. The cashier said they come there often. Since the event got "rained-out" (a tragedy for the community and casinos that rely on this event for funds) the casino wasn't too crowded, especially compared to last year. read more

I usually stay here all the time when I go to Winnemucca. Don't expect a 4 Star hotel since this Casino/Hotel was built in the 50s. The rooms need a serious make over. The casino ventilation system isn't very good which explains your clothes all small like cigarette smoke. A couple of positives Herb who runs the casino is an great guy who is friendly with everybody. But my favorite thing about this place is the all you can eat spaghetti for 7.99. Was a 'guest' at the hotel/casino last weekend, Worst internet I have ever experienced in this day and age. The front desk blamed it on 'router' issues and supposedly sent the maintenance guy to reset it, I think this was just a 'line' they were told to say. It was slow to non-existent and VERY poor/slow when I was able to log in. Room was OK, nothing to rave about, seemed old and a bit run down. My suggestion is for the money go down the road to another place, they were not worth it. I did not have a choice, but next time in Winnemucca I will be looking elsewhere. Winners is a pretty dank and dark little Casino, with what I would call a medium sized collection of machines, and not much of a pull for me. There are too many other things in this town that are amusing, so this is more of a drive-by to me. We arrived to the city of Winnemucca late in the afternoon on our way back to San Francisco. At first, we checked out the Winners Casino but left looking for a better place to eat. We ended up coming back, because we were unable to find more sincere and cordial atmosphere in any other place in Winnemucca. People at the Winners Casino's restaurant were the nicest and the food was the best. Please trust me, and visit the restaurant at the Winners Casino. Please say "Hello" to Mr. Herb Ross, the food and beverage manager, who is super nice and will go extra mile to make you happy. Please try their pork chops and their Mimosa cocktail, which are absolutely amazing. The place may look like many other Casino, but people are really different, because they are genuine and cordial. They will treat you with love and respect and will do their best to make you feel special. And once again, their Mimosa cocktail is the best in the world!!! read more
