Olney was selected because of the size and more individual assistance given to residents. My brother has repeatedly said " this is a good place and the people are nice" when I ask him how he likes living there. He especially likes to walk and in the good weather he is able to walk a good distance outside when he wants. My brother is always well taken care of, eats well and he feels safe living there. As a result I am relaxed to know he is no longer living alone unassisted.

There was no incident report, no notice to us, and no apologies. We've been met with indifference and defensiveness. After a week of looking into this, there are no answers about her arm. We are very upset and wish to place her in a safe environment. They won't, however, let us out of the contract without giving 30 days notice. (note, they said this was 30 days respite verbally but had me sign something else) My lesson learned is money ($8,900 per month) doesn't buy quality care, compassion, or integrity. It's been a horrible experience and I pray for all elderly patients who don't have family or friends advocating for them. I don't recommend Olney Assisted Living.

I'm not going to name any names but they should know who I'm talking about. It's been so stressful for the families especially from my experience I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about everything that's going on , one of my complaints is about a year ago they said we can purchase a fob for $75 so we didn't have to wait for some one to come and open the door and then look for a caregiver that they are taking care of some person , but now the big boss decided to take it away from us because she says it's against the law!! So if it's against the law why do half of the people's fobs don't work and the other half do work so is it a law or is it her big power law !!!!!!! The other problem is my mom she was upstairs because they had two floors and because so many people left she decided to move everybody downstairs to safe money , but now she took some of the people upstairs and it's so sad because they made friends and they miss each other, just because they have dementia they still have a heart and it's sad when the ladies ask where did so and so go what do you answer them . They are always cutting the caregivers hours and don't have enough on the floor!!! And they work them so hard, the caregivers are doing a great job!!! Today 9/20/26 my moms lunch was roast beef but I called it dog food because it was so tough , they used to give soup first and some veggies and a small salad but no more soup and no salad and six days a week is ether a cookie or ice cream, they used to have cakes . My mom has Kaiser for insurance and Medicare but they are so against Kaiser, a few months ago they had two nurses that gave me such a hard time but now they are gone and we have a wonderful lady as a nurse !!! she cares so much about everyone!! Don't take me wrong they do have some people that are good but many . The people on the top should come and see what is going on and help this poor people because this place is not cheap and it goes up every January!!! I know after this review they are probably going to ask my mom to move just like a few others I know!! HELP PLEASE the one star is for the caregivers and the cleaning ladies , they deserve lots more but I don't want to put more because they will think it's for the place and they don't deserve any stars!! I was visiting my mom today 9/22/26 and she was upstairs doing her hair at the salon, that's the first floor that she was for two years till they took everyone downstairs but t now they moved a few people upstairs again, they said some people that are more mobile but one man was in a wheelchair and three ladies were sitting on a table from downstairs and I said hi ladies we miss you and they said to me we are punished and they put us here so sad how they treat dementia people

Everybody there is sedated, they don't have any activities , they are incompetent when it comes to nursing care and they have no dietitian on staff to check food/drug interactions or ensure the people are getting good quality healthy meals and meeting nutrient needs. They make homemade meals and I'm not sure if they are ServeSafe certified (which they need to be to handle food safely). They called us several times a day every day to come up there because they don't want to entertain your loved ones. And if you refuse to sedate your loved one (like we did) they get frustrated as the patients get so bored and they talk. It was a terrible experience.

Independent Living at Brooke Grove is absolutely superior to all of the other communities we considered 3-4 years ago in Maryland and Pennsylvania. The management and maintenance are conscientious and terrific, the food is spectacular, the cottages are very well maintained, the grounds are kept groomed and beautiful, management's responsiveness leaves very little to be desired, and the residents are smart, lively, gracious people. After living here for almost 3 years, we still feel that moving here is the best decision we've ever made.

As my father's conservator I was committed to ensure his final days would be peaceful and comfortable and Brooke Grove worked with me every step of the way to ensure that happened. My sister and I were kept up-to-date on all things related to my father. In his final few days they worked well with the hospice team to ensure he was comfortable. On the last day my father was alive they made my mother's final visit and over night stay nothing less than a blessing.

Their homes are very clean, the food is excellent and the entertainment of residents is a main concern. Everyone is concerned about the well being of residents and they get to know them well. The staff is loving and caring to the patients requiring care there. Attentive to their needs in a timely fashion. Personally, Peter the regular nurse on day duty is excellent. The physical therapist, occupational therapist and speech therapist provided exceptional care in getting her ready to return home. The facility is very clean and provides a safe environment for those who stay there. The food they serve is prepared by a chef and is not institutional food you find in many hospital centers. Mom had no complaints and enjoyed her meals. Administrate process was very easy getting her in and releasing her. Chris was very helpful.
