Review: Wintergreen Nails & Spa - DeSoto, TX Very disappointing experience. I clearly declined gel services multiple times upon arrival, yet when it was time to pay, gel charges were added for both my mother and me anyway. When I refused to pay for services I explicitly declined, they wanted us to wait while they replace the gel which I declined. Upon further review of my receipts, they still managed to add a gel removal charge to both tickets that wasn't originally on the ticket. This felt less like a misunderstanding and more like a bait-and-switch tactic to increase the bill. After I pushed back and even mentioned calling the police to resolve the issue, they told me not to return -- which is perfectly fine with me. First visit and definitely the last. I would not recommend this establishment. I hope this review costs them at least the amount of money they've swindled out of me. read more

I was finally able to get back in and they made it right , though I didn't get the French that I had previously paid for due to time constraints. I do suggest not going on the days of the special. Just from my experiences on Wednesdays, they never last more than two days before they start cracking and then chipping away. read more

Been here twice since moving here around the area. Love the 20% discount Mondays-Wednesdays. Even when they're busy, you get seated and helped within about 5-10 minutes. Do a very good job and friendly with brining my little one. read more

They are what I'd call good enough. It's a hit or miss depending upon who you get. I've had great service but I've had rushed, and not so good service. They insist on using that drill and I hate it. Sometime my cuticles get pushed back and cut well. Other time the cuticles get half punched back, cut and then filed flat with a sanding block. Never really last past 3 -4 days before it looks like I never went. I'm looking for another spot but the salons seem to be a hit or miss. Still looking and going here only because it's good enough. Wouldn't recommend it one way or the other. read more

Needed a pedicure, pass by several times a week. Decided to go Saturday morning. Limited wait, inside was relaxing, they offer a beverage, care taken, and the end results were favorable. Please note, it is $15 for gel, but so worth it at the end. Definitely will be returning. read more

I have had my all white pedi for a week now and it looks like a middle schooler did it! Decent but definitely NOT professional. I came in on a Monday before the 4rth of July holiday. The pedi chairs were quite crowded a little after opening and it was eerie quiet. TVs were on but no sound. It wasn't long before the nail tech came over and opened the book of services. I just want the basic pedi but she wanted to upsell me on gel for my toes (which I've never got and don't need!) She seemed a bit annoyed that I politely declined this service and she continued to try and sell me the benefits an I continued to decline. I even told her it was out of my budget. Maybe this is why she opted to do a sloppy job. Regardless, a service provider should respect the service I decide on and deliver exceptionally regardless! She put on several thick coats of white and it was just not the crisp, perfect, neat pedi I wanted nor was expecting. She didn't deserve the amount of tip I gave her. Definitely not going back and will have to go back to Nature Lounge I suppose. read more

I don't know what happened to my review that I put on here a couple weeks ago, but I'm gonna put another one. I was treated so poorly in bed at this shop. I've been going there since they open from day one from Emily's house took her Shop. Her sister is very prejudice and rude. I took my grandbaby, dear and myself to get our nails Fixed and the sister told me there's no one here to do her nails, but there were kids coming in while we were standing there and she pushed them all to get their nails polished or whatever they were gonna do of service and the reason she said she wasn't doing my granddaughter's nails because I told her to stop yelling at Us. She's very prejudice at again. I don't know what happened to my review, but I will make one every day Emily just so you'll know how poorly we were treated in your facility. The service was horrible. Your sister is horrible and I again we were treated very bad and you know we were because you had the nerve to tell your sister when I called to let you know I wasn't ever coming back to tell her. Why would you do that? She's horrible and I will be making a review every day cause I don't know what happened to my first one I want people to know about your business and how y'all treat people. read more

Nice spot to come and get your feet and nails done. I only come for their pedicures as they do a thorough job. I typically don't have to wait for too long whenever I arrive. Will definitely come back here when time permits. read more

I have a positive experience every time I come here. I feel this is only because I come in before noon. I have never felt rushed. The pedicure I get is the Collagen Pedi, the massage is 15 min and they have a timer. Dave gave an amazing foot rub and didn't fudge on the time, didn't stop until that clock expired.. I was offered a drink and made to feel comfortable before the process started. He also made sure I was ok thought out the entire treatment. Also the instruments they use for the pedi are opened in front of you.. Gel Polish is what I use, it is 15.00 extra and was explained before application. You are welcome to bring your own polish. This place is 20% off on Monday thru Wednesday. I came in for that reason but it's only 20% off certain services. I wanted a regular pedicure ($35) but the low end service wasn't available at a discount. Be prepared to be upsold to the next service ($45, $36 with the discount). Maybe women deal with this a lot since they frequent the nail shops more, but just a FYI. It looks nice and clean on the inside and they have 18 chairs for the pedicures. read more

I'm writing this review on behalf of my grandmother who informed me of her experience at this location. She's been to this location once before, Leo was exceptional. However, her second time back which was just under a week ago was quite the opposite. The service last week was a gel mani/pedi completed by Sydney. During the manicure: Sydney clipped the cuticle too far which caused a cut, bleeding and wasn't treated properly following the cut and my grandmother asked her to be careful because she's diabetic. 5 days later the gel polish has peeled 6/10 nails and her thumb nail is cracked. My grandmother returned to the shop to inform the manager of what happened. They first BLAMED her for her cracked nail and polish (mind you she didn't have this problem with Leo 3 weeks prior), then offered to redo her manicure BUT it could only be done by Sydney. When my grandmother refused her service, the manager said she would be required to pay if someone else assisted her, very disappointing and absurd! Please do not spend your time nor money here! read more

Horrible place. Wait wasnt long but the lady who did my nails rushed and they are horrible. I decided to give this place a try since its close to my home because I normally travel to Arlington. My pedicure was so fast she barely took her time and my toes are not pretty at all. She had me soaking my nails while she was doing my pedicure which I do not like because I want to relax and be on my phone while my toes are being catered to! My fingers were so dry from the acetone and she didnt bother to be gentle and proceeded to use her nails to scrape off the rest of the acrylic on my nails. Unfortunately she was the same lady to do my nails! Dried acrylic is on my fingers AND even dried nail polish that I had to peel off. I will just travel to Arlington, this was so horrible and im so disappointed. read more

I've been looking for a new nail salon since moving to Texas and this will now be my go to! I had Julie on my first visit here today 09/26/23 and she was so sweet and I didn't feel rushed even though I came in a little late. The pricing is not bad at all and I felt comfortable the whole time. I would definitely recommend everyone give them a try! read more

From the moment we walked in, everyone was mad and I'm not the type to walk out until I give them a chance, but I waiting at least 45 minutes and all I wanted was a pedicure no polish change or anything and I told the lady that, she said okay that it would be less than the regular amount for the pedicure, but when I got to the front it was $45 still just to get my feet scrubbed and massaged . I didn't even get my toenails clipped or anything which I think personally, is ridiculously over priced . They charged 2 separate ladies wrongly & they brought hell but they didn't reduce the price or change it. They just lack communication and good customer service .. read more

I see why there ratings are so low. I gave a 1 star because you have to rate at least one star. New is not always better. For this day was an appointment which was postponed an hour by them 10 min prior as I was about to arrive. I had gave this place a 3rd try far out and between due to I could not find a good tech at this location that could make me feel their job was worth coming back for... and I'm not hard to please, but wanted a job better than what I could do. Yet thus far never posted a review until this time...This last time around I gave nail tech MIMI a try and to try to make a long story short..this time after she carelessly broke all my nails that had grown, I wanted my nails at least shaped under the new mails, which should not have been much to ask (please allow me to have a little class about myself). She got upset because I took the file which was lying down to quickly shape myself so she could continue. I kept a smile and all, not knowing something so little had affected this LITTLE GIRL working as a nail tech. Noticed she was not as sociable after. This was a discount day, this tech starting giving me charges that I will be paying which seemed to be more than what I had paid prior. Come to find out (she speaks English well-the cashier tried to tell me in an attempt to plot for her saying mimi does not speak English well...that was a LIE), she had the girl at check out to tell me Mimi said for me to ask for someone else to do my nails next time. Wow....I gave this one tooooo much credit. She left the cashier to do her dirty work....not professional at all. This nail tech tried to not face me, but I requested to speak to her and told her that was not professional at all. I have such a good attitude that I did not deserve that from this girllll...this is a grown up's business. They charge a lot then expect tips (which I always give). I also called Management when I left, she knew of the situation and backed her tech up in this wrong doing. I did not deserve that. Please be ware of this location. This one location does not stop no show.....There are nail techs and shops all over, tons to millions. We need to post Honest reviews good and bad to help others. Will not be coming back. I'm not from town and came in with a relative that lives in town. The lady who did my pedicure was great no complaints at all. But my nails omg. I started out with this guy and he said he couldn't do a fill on the nail I have cause they didn't have the color and I explained I'd find a similar color to match but he said I had to get a whole new set. Smh then he proceeded to take my nails off by ripping them off ( they are supposed to be soaked off) he cut me with the nail clippers, ripped my real nail underneath, and then stabbed me three time under my pinky nail until I said don't do that again. Then thankfully they switched me with a lady. She rushed them it seemed and did a bit of a sloppy job. I have some crooked nails and some bad shaping. That's not the end I had got these sparkly ball put on 4 of my nails and they snagged on everything. So I went into have them file it off and the put a clear coat on. The lady who did it was so incredibly rude for no reason. Terrible customer service. I don't recommend!!!!!!! read more
