Clean. Whenever I walk into a nail salon the very first thing I checked are the drains.
    Katrina C.

This salon is one of Red Oaks Best Kept Secrets. 1st they're oldschool. I get an oldschool 90s vibe when I come here. But I love it. They take very good care of my natural nails. Don't get me wrong I'm not referring to the quality of products. I'm referring to the tone and care they put into their work They are not afraid to get down and dirty with my cuticles and this one toe nail that gets on my nerves! It's been a long time since someone pulled out the drill on my nails. I loved it. They scrub and drill, and clip everything. These new salons like to hand file EVERYTHING, and that gets on my nerves. I typically visit your salon during the week. But today I wanted to see what is like on the weekends. And I will admit they're a little understaffed. I came in early for a manicure pedicure... and I could tell as people started coming in the technician started to rush. He clipped my nails and then started painting, I had to remind him to file them and round off the edge. I do agree with another review that they need to work on painting. There's an older lady here during the week she's great with painting. But I wouldn't trust any of them to do any elaborate designs. But again I get an oldschool 90s vibe when I come here. But I love it. When I want something elaborate I do go down the street, which the other locations are always busy and crowded, and the technicians are always rushed. I will continue to come here regularly.

Just moved to the area and needed to find my go to nail place. I have found it, I love how my nails came out.

BOOK WITH MELANY ! Shes a young entrepreneur who i…read morewholeheartedly believe in! She truly is amazing at what she does! Every since i newly moved out here from California shes been the only one to cut and style my hair and im sooooooo happy to have found her! I had box dye in my hair from earlier this year and she still was able to completely change my look and im so thankful! I was quoted about $210 for the balayage and only came out to paying $230! Definitely see her for your hair color needs. She works thoroughly and ensures the best ! The vibe is chill and relaxed in the salon

This review is regarding 1 specific stylist and MY personal experience!…read more The stylist is Sara! So this stylist is very unprofessional and she did me wrong! watch the videos it explains everything! Also she charged me $30 to "trim" my hair! Which she even admits! She did not cut my hair or thin it! The "lightening" she did are the 2 random stripes on the one side of my head! She made ME feel guilty for not liking my hair! I said "here is the inspiration pic but I want highlights as well!" that's what I think she was trying to do with the 2 random stripes on 1 side of my head (idfk).... she took pictures after she curled my hair (which it looked good curled when it looked blended)... but straight it looked like ! She had an apt set with my 8 yo daughter for today and she cancelled on me yesterday at 4pm in the afternoon when my apt was at 8am! Literally what professional does that? She had all week to cancel if she wanted! She also got her whole salon involved (except her manager Tracy) they completely left her out of the convo even though Sara had her fix my hair(and didn't fully compensate her the amount she told me she was going to) but that's besides the point! This is my experience! She is unprofessional! She will rip you off! She does not apologize because "her work is amazing" as she put it! Anyways save yourself the hassle and go to someone who actually cares if you like your hair and if you don't they will fix what you don't like without throwing a fit like a toddler! Also cancelling on a little girl a few hours before her appointment?!? Like who does that? #unprofessional Would you pay $165 for this? I was quoted $120!! Didn't cut or thin my hair! And still charged me for it! Awful! Tracy is wonderful! Go to her!

I will say that the front staff are always so welcoming and sweet. My issue started AFTER sitting down. I was getting my hands done and a pedicure. I will say the lady who did my toes was super sweet and nice. She did a good job too but the only thing was i wish she went a little more on cleaning under the nails. But overall she was great. Now let's talk about the young woman who did my hands. From the beginning she just looked upset or bored. Some can even say she looked like she didn't want to be there at all. I know her name but I'm not going to blast her because she could be a good nail tech and was having a bad day. Or she could still be a new etc. overall I'm not going to call her out. Anyways, I told her I wanted French tips and wanted the shape squared/oval. She said she could do that. That was the only time she spoke to me. Honestly that doesn't bother me. Because sometimes you don't want to have small talk. Anywho, she finished the shape and I didn't like it. I told Her but she didn't fix it. And I was "trusting the process". Then she started painting the French tips and she asked if I liked it. I said no that's not the way I liked them which I then showed her again. She then got an attitude about it. She "fixed it" but it still wasn't the way I liked. The French tips went across with little to no curve and if you look at the nails it looks a little wonky. Then when she went to cure the nail polish she started getting mad at the AGAIN because my thumb "wasn't cured". Note I was getting both hands and feet down and she had her lamp on my lap and was angled all weird. Well she's like "you need to make sure to put your fingers right ". I'm like You're the one who positioned my hands. Whatever. Overall once she was done she didn't speak to me. Didn't ask if I liked it and walked away. Didn't say goodbye. Then when I was trying to pay for the service, she sat down behind me while I paid and watched me. So I just didn't feel like arguing with her so I paid. Let unhappy and I'll just find a way to fix them at home because they're not what I wanted. The other staff looked friendly though. The place looked clean and welcoming. But in still indecisive if I'll come back. For the price I paid I felt it was so much for no good results.

The tech was 30 minutes late. I get it, things happen like the previous client ran late, etc. However, the cuticle trimming was painful experience, she clipped my nails too short - to the point that she cut into my quick, OUCH! Finally got to the point of painting my nails. All I can say is ......sloppy. My left pinkie nail was literally 3/4 painted and I didn't notice it until after I got home. I lived with it for a week then removed the gel at home. On top of that, part of my service was a foo-foo hand / forearm treatment with a salt scrub, paraffin and mud mask, massage and moisturize.....she forgot the mud mask. Very disappointing, I've no intention of going back.
