There are so many beautifully carved statues. All the statues are made from marble, granite, bronze, wood, polyester resin and fiberglass. On their webpage, The Grotto's Vision is To forever be a place where the human spirit can seek peace and consolation. The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother embraces and supports people of all cultures and all faiths who seek a place of prayer and meditation; The Grotto values the dignity of everyone. The freezing cold. But even in the dead of winter, we deserve this resort-style pool day, if we do say so ourselves. They provide a nice private bathroom for changing and a shower for cleaning up afterwards. Nothing beats a hot shower after being in chlorine. They can't promise the sun, but they can promise some fun with the indoor pool. May be the thing to chase the winter blues away. It's the PNW, it's winter most of the time! This is actually the first time I was at The Deck *not* with a work group (which they are also good for), so we got to try some of the better menu items. This is, of course, a place for seafood, so we got the bay shrimp cocktail (so many shrimp!) and I had the Halibut Heatwave sandwich. Both were good, as were the fries. My sweetie got the BBLT (BLT with extra bacon) which was ... two meals, really. Overall, The Deck really has the best food I've had floating from a restaurant.
