In my opinion you have two choices in this industry - big company like Comcast, or a local company like OmniGuard. I picked and am staying with OmniGuard for three reasons: 1. The primary alarm monitoring system, through Alarm.com is bulletproof. We've had some alarms go off when we weren't in town. The police showed up. If there is urgent issues, they are on the phone with you immediately. 2. The service side - OmniGuard is local and will fix your issues. They are small, and sometimes they can drop the ball, but they always make it right. When you call they are respectful and helpful. 3. Price points remain stable - they don't jack you around after a year. The value remains.

Now, three years later I find out that they can't figure out why, since my system is on a cell radio connection only. I have found that any inquiries I have made either get lost or ignored. When pushed, however, the company has come through. The manager, Tina, told me she has only worked there since January, so she's not familiar with their products or systems. It's November! On balance the company is OK and the price is competitive. However, staffing and training seems to be needed.

But other than that one hiccup, Tyson came personally to do the free consultation at our home and to see what was really requested. We asked for the basics. No cable, install sound-bar and provide bracket. Tyson gave us the amount and he called his guys in who were around the area do another job to swing by in an hour! Amazing. When the new homeowners moved out, they had Current Home Technologies come out to cancel their service and remove loaned equipment. Once I moved in, I noticed that the DSC security panel's installer code and master code were not reset back to the default codes when it should have been (as explained by Tony, the founder and CEO). Tony refused to send a technician out to reset the installer code (which would be a very quick and easy) even though it was due to their own error for not resetting it in the first place. As a result, they instructed me to just factory reset the panel myself, which will require a much longer process to re-enroll every sensor and device in the home. Pretty disappointed in their customer service as this is a mistake on their end and they're unwilling to correct it. They also had the audacity to try and "sell" me on starting monitoring service with them. This is definitely not how you get new customers and more business.
