I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough that I felt compelled…read moreto share it. I was a first-time patient and had difficulty finding the office because Google Maps repeatedly directed me to the wrong location. After driving around trying to find the building, I eventually called the office for help. It turned out the office was directly across the parking lot from where I had been searching. By the time I arrived, I was about 15 minutes late. I completely understand that offices have policies regarding late arrivals. What I do not understand is the way I was treated. When I explained that I had been trying to find the office and had even called for directions, I was told, "That doesn't matter." There was no empathy, no attempt to help, and no effort to make a first-time patient feel welcome. The interaction felt cold, dismissive, and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the receptionist was eating at the front desk during the interaction, which only added to the unprofessional impression. I had left work early, spent time trying to locate the office, and genuinely made every effort to get there. Being turned away is one thing. Being treated as though the circumstances didn't matter at all is another. Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Then brought us out the free frames, making the assumption that's what we wanted. I don't appreciate walking in and being made to feel like that, and having him announce to the world what insurance we have. I refused to continue on with him, and will try again another day to get our glasses- that we intend on paying for. The ladies in the office were phenomenal, and Dr Miller was great! If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be returning. He needs to learn HIPPA, shouting my insurance detials was completely unnecessary.

I have been coming to Pajka Eye Center since 2021. I first went there because my mother had…read morecataracts and she needed to have that surgery. She had one surgery for one of the eyes, and needed me to take her to the appointments. While there I got to know about this surgery center and decided to finally look into Lasik surgery. My vision has been steadily getting worse as the years went by to the point I just couldn't see almost anything without glasses. Whenever i would misplace them, it would take me up to an hour sometimes to find them because i just couldn't see... i had to get super up close to see them. I have been putting off doing Lasik for years, partly because I was a bit of a chicken. I was always worried they would screw it up and I would end up blind. Ever see that old Twilight Zone episode, Time Enough At Last? It freaked me out when I first saw it years ago. Here is a recap from Wikipedia, if you never saw it: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Enough_at_Last Yeah, i totally related to this guy, especially his obsession with books. The fear of eventually not being able to see and enjoy the things I love drove me to get the surgery. And the moment I decided I needed to correct my vision came in a trip in 2021, where I went to a hotel pool, having extreme difficulty seeing anything while I was in the pool and then for a while that I couldn't find my glasses for a while... made me realize I needed to fix this problem once and for all. So i went through their tests and was told 1) I was blind as a bat and 2) I was a candidate for Lasik. After a few check ups as I needed to get my eyes ready for the surgery as they were too dry, needing months of daily eye drops. The day of the surgery came. A friend of mine took me to the eye center for the surgery, and i went in. I signed some paperwork, given some pills and some eye drops to numb my eyes I gotta say, Lasik surgery feels weird. You do feel them working on the eye as your conscious and it doesn't hurt most of the time. Except the left eye which I was told it always does. The surgery didn't take long... think it was an hour. I wish i could say that I faced this without fear, but no. I did hold the hand of one of the nurses the whole time... especially during the left eye. Super thankful to that nurse. I went home and slept the rest of the day and really did a lot of sleeping that weekend. I had to wear sunglasses for several weeks, have 4 different types of eye drops to use for the next month and had to sleep with goggles on. My vision got progressively better and one week after my surgery I had 20/15 vision. Not sure what I have now as I have to go soon for another check up. Its amazing to be able to see without glasses on... even the colors are more vivid and vibrant. I am incredibly thankful for Dr. Pajka and his staff. My life is so much better since the surgery. They are very professional, caring and wonderful. If you are in Van Wert and Lima and need eye surgery, go see Dr. Pajka!
