Wish we could give more than 5 stars! This experience far surpassed my 6-year-old grandson's…read moreexpectations. We got to see a two-headed snake, so many gators, and the biggest snakes we've ever seen. The absolute highlight was when my grandson and his Dad got to hold a gator--he hasn't stopped telling everyone about it since! Definitely a must-see highlight of the Dells.

He had been watching science-related videos, reading books, talking alligators and crocs nonstop. We were planning a mini father son trip and I wasn't sure where to go, when to my surprise I saw that Wis Dells had an alligator place! So we actually headed up there from NW Chicagoland for Alligators first...and boy this did not disappoint. The place was surprisingly very clean and not smelly at all--I had a college roommate who bought an old Used car that had a garter snake in it and he kept it and boy did it smell...so this is no small feat to keep it clean with this many reptiles. It was the first thing we did in Wis Dells and my son was there a good couple of hours (entrance was about $20 for us to visit and then you can buy food to feed -- meat packets were very reasonably priced), and also feed alligators, pythons, snapping turtles, alligator snapping turtles, caimans live mice and/or rats depending what the animals needed that day. Thankfully the owners -- lovely people who have been there nearly 30 years -- feed the live animals we don't have to touch them. I'll admit that left me a little squirmish but my son was in heaven. We were there about 2 hours (most folks I imagine last about 30 mins) and my son was really excited to see the animals -- behind closed glass tanks. They have 14 or so gators in the big tank right as you walk in, have an albino alligator (large one too) in a separate tank behind. Several pythons- including a jumbo yellow scary python and one a little smaller next to it. They have turtles, some smaller snakes, and some toads etc in other cages.... I figured we saw all we could ever see that first 2 hours as it isn't the biggest place, but my son really wanted to go back before we left, so we went back 2 days later and I don't know how we missed it on day 1, but they had a photo opportunity to hold an alligator (its mouth is taped for safety) and that was the thrill of my sons life! He's been telling everyone about that post our visit. Overall it was impressive how clean and not smelly the place is, showing the care the handlers/owners take to these animals. One bit of advice, while they have some very brief blurbs on some (not all) of the animals, I'd recommend adding more complete blurbs in the animals like a traditional zoo would. They also have an opportunity to buy alligators (which presumably is legal in Wisconsin) and that is something I'd never recommend -- Thankfully they aren't cheap so kids likely couldn't do that without a parent being involved:). All in all across 2 visits we were there 3.5 or so hours and my son had the absolute best time of his life. I can't thank them enough and they were super great to him answering his questions, etc (especially since on the second visit they were pretty darn crowded but they gave my so. Extra special treatment :) ). A wonderful experience-- and a reminder of the things we parents do for our kids lol - as Id never be there if it was t for my son, let alone be there twice! We will be back too next time we go to the Dells (I hadn't been to the Dells in over 20 years--first time as an adult, and I hadn't a great time, but this was amongst our biggest highlight of the trip)

There aren't pictures of the common area pools, etc. because phones are (which I love!). The pictures posted are from the spacious room WITH a true hot tub. With robes, slippers, and a never ending supply of plush towels, one couldn't be happier. The shower had multiple shower heads with a keypad to set which ones on/off, etc. The room could definitely accommodate 6-8 people due to the size. What a good girls' weekend idea! Room service food was They also offered yoga, coloring, quiet rooms, and many more areas to relax and decompress. The ONLY thing lacking was the massage. Unfortunately, it was so-so, which was disappointing since it was . It didn't start on time and was out before the "50" minute allotted time. I'd say the massage maybe lasted 35. The masseuse also started it off by saying she was having a stressful day All that said, I think the massage was a one off, and I'll definitely try a service again. 4/5

We enjoyed the bath ritual, the outdoor hot tub, and the indoor hot soak tub. The bath ritual hot tub could have been a little warmer. There were hardly any quiet spaces in the spa areas and no one enforced keeping spaces quiet and tranquil despite the signs everywhere. For such an expensive resort, there were some things that really surprised us. Most of the staff were friendly, but it wasn't the caliber of customer service we were expecting. Our room was just ok. We liked the high ceilings, the comfy sitting area, the bed, Kohler shower, and the fireplace. A light flickered next to the bed, preventing us from reading in bed because we had to keep it turned off. The bathroom didn't have nearly enough hooks for suits and robes. The bathroom felt tired and didn't seem very clean. There was even a plastic wrapper on the shower floor. The toilet paper quality was surprisingly poor. The magnifying mirror wouldn't stay in place, and the hairdryer barely worked. This was unacceptable at these prices per night. We had fun, but it was very expensive for the quality of the experience.

I love the QR code wristlet that acts as your room key and access key to the waterparks, it's brilliant really so you aren't losing the key all the time. I stayed in one of the hotel rooms, and it was very clean. A little sparse, but impeccably tidy and I was able to do work from my room. I spent mornings and lunch breaks lagoonside, and the water is amazing, zero chlorine. Can confirm the slides are wicked fun for kids of all ages, and I absolutely loved letting loose and running around on top of the inflatables. There's a gas station and restaurant right across the street too so if you need food or snacks there are options. Don't forget to bring a towel if you're enjoying the pool or the lagoon!

It's a cute set up but the cabins and treehouses have no bathrooms inside them . One needs to go outside to use the one stall bathrooms. They were dirty , smelly, and small, and the floors were often very wet. Our cabin had dark spots from all the bugs that have been killed . Flies and mosquitos were inside the cabin, it made it difficult to sleep at night. The beds sink in , the bunk bed mattress was too thin. My son son could feel the wood when he slept on it. The lagoon closes too soon , at 7pm. The inside pool and hot tub made our eyes sting from the strong chloride. The sauna was nice . If you are used to camping ..this might not be too bad. I prefer a room that has no bugs and a bathroom.

The indoor and outdoor pools are absolutely amazing--perfect for kids and adults alike. The outdoor pool has a super fun vibe, and the indoor pool is spotless and a great option for rainy or cooler days, or a night swim. The rooms were super clean -- genuinely well-kept and comfortable. You can tell the staff takes real pride in maintaining the property. Everything felt fresh and inviting. The management is incredibly friendly and responsive. From the moment we checked in with Brad (owner) we felt welcomed. They were happy to answer questions, offer suggestions on local eats and attractions, and really seemed to care about our experience. The location is ideal--just far enough from the hustle of downtown to be quiet and relaxing, but still super convenient to everything Wisconsin Dells has to offer. We were able to walk or take a quick drive to shops, restaurants, and the waterparks. Bonus points for the nostalgic charm of the property--it has that classic Dells feel but is updated and well-maintained. A perfect mix of retro and modern. We'll definitely be back. We were in search of a place where we could rent the entire property for our wedding and wanted a place where we could offer all of the ages of the family something to do at any given moment. This place delivered!! My best friend and I called this place on a roadtrip because we found it on google and thought it was worth a shot and Chris the owner answered and was so kind and thoughtful that we detoured and stopped to meet him there in the middle of winter. We chose this place because of him and the fabulous, well kept property. We talked with Chris and his wife several times prior to our August wedding and they were patient with our planning process and able to accommodate all of our requests. We cannot thank them enough for the use of the clubhouse and pool! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and exceptional service that made our stay truly unforgettable.  Chris and his wife Angie, the staff and property were more than we could have dreamed up! The property itself is absolutely stunning, nestled in a picturesque setting that offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere of the Wisconsin River. It was the perfect site for our wedding and family gathering, providing a beautiful backdrop for our special day and ample space for all our guests to relax and enjoy.  The owners went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of, making the entire experience seamless and stress-free. Their dedication to excellence and genuine care for their guests truly set Cedar Lake Lodge and Settlement apart.  Whether you're planning a wedding, a family reunion, or just a peaceful getaway, I highly recommend Cedar Lake Lodge and Settlement. It is a hidden gem in Wisconsin Dells that offers unparalleled beauty, comfort, and hospitality. We can't wait to return!   Highly recommend that you rent a boat for some amazing photos and head next door to rent tubes to float down the river!
