I have conducted business with both Badger Guns and Brew City Shooters Supply for many years and over the years I have purchased apox. 60 guns from these guys. I know the owners well and have always trusted there recommendations from all my firearms. Their knowledge of there products is unbelievable and all the staff are there to help. You will not get a better deal anywhere in the state. They are a responsible business that has been stepped on by the legal system and forced to bend over backwards to do whatever it takes to be responsible with all the laws they are forced to keep all transactions safe and legal. Other than a little bit of a high price for range time (unless you're planning on using the pistol bay for more than an hour but who can afford that with anything other than .22?), this is a nice range. I found the pistol bay to be clean and well lit and more than adequately ventilated. Once I finished punching holes in paper at high velocity, I did a quick browse of the supplies in the store. Good selection of cleaning stuff, optional attachments and of course, lots of pistols and rifles for sale. Maybe not as many as my own shop, but still a decent number. Forget their history. I've seen them shut down straw attempts in person. Recently ! You've got to be a special kind of stupid to case the place a couple of times then come back with your "sister" or "girl friend" for "her" to buy a gun. LOL They stomped on that quick AF . Other than that I didn't take my classes from them but I appreciate their membership discounts and professionalism. Not too expensive to receive FFL transfers, and if your not a weirdo they are generally salt of the earth good guys. Can't speak to their smithing work but I would pay them for a shooting class easily. Theres always some odd quirk you have that affects your shot placement and they are all pros here. Started out liking the range but their FFL services and communication is garbage. I have been waiting 2 years(2019) for BCSS to Form 3 transfer a suppressor to my FFL out of state. They originally didn't contact me to initiate the transfer. 30+ emails and calls and I still don't have a clue as to the status of my NFA item and never get any follow up. This review is based on shooting range only. I didn't shop here because I Bought my gun, bullets, targets, and gun safe at Gander. Also bought my ear protection, glasses, and gun range bag at Walmart. This was my first time at a range and wanted to be prepared before going. Getting range time was quick and easy. Signed a waiver, checked my ID, checked my bullets, saw I was wearing ear and eye protection, paid $20 for a hour and was given a range number and start time. On my way to shoot. Mon-Thurs $20 for unlimited time but Fri-Sun it is $20 per hour. I found this place here on help and visited the website I liked that you could become a member for $25 and get discounts in store and $5 the range. If I go 5 times it pays off that $25 member fee. Seven better if you renewel any other year it's only $10 for membership. Pay that back with 2 visits So for first time at the range was fun. Learned how to aim, got some nice headshots in. Booths looked nice. I will defiantly be back many more days to practice my shooting at the range. read more

They will invade your privacy by disclosing your personal information to the police. BTW, you'll have to spend 25 dollars for a membership to make purchases, and/or use the range; even if you bring your own pistol and ammo. I have nothing to hide. I have recently cleared 3 federal, and 2 state licenses. It is sad when a business starts off on the wrong foot. They are pretty much sealing their fate as a dead business in my eyes. Please be aware I cannot reply to a PM if I have been blocked. Good points HXXXXXX. I have 2 friends who were murdered, one who was robbed at gun point, and 2 self inflicted accidentally. I do AGREE that criminals should NOT have guns, and that we need to be tougher on crimes committed with guns in Wisconsin. Legal concealed carry in this state is still very new; less than 10 months. Since it is new, laws need to be reviewed. I agree Badger Guns had the market cornered for many years since they were the only place nearby besides Shooter's in Racine, The Shooters Shop in West Allis, and Fletcher's in the Waukesha, and all the big box chains nearby such as Cabela's, Gander Mountain, Fleet Farm, and Dunham Sports. Naturally, they'll have credit for a majority of the guns in the area that are used in a crime. I am all for enforcing the laws that are on the books. The law for background checks should prevent some of the guns from getting into criminal hands. My point was the law abiding individual is not informed, formally up front and I value my privacy. It may be a condition of their license that the city of West Milwaukee requested communication of who is using their services. But this is not standard law as far as I know. It could be a local law vs state vs federal law. Forgot to get my picture before we left so I could post it. This place is no frills shooting. The guys are nice, one is extra cute and I mean handsome cute not little boy cute. But I was with a male so assumptions are always made. We bought a few things (ammo for me to help) Guy friend bought $150+ of merch while waiting for me to get off the phone. They do not rent EAR MUFFS. They sell them. I left mine but they accomodated me by holding my License until I returned them. The range is the *no frills* part. Sweep up your own casings. No lock system in place to keep folks in the range vs the store like Gander Mountain but it's local not corporate so that's a comparison but not necessarily apples to apples when you have a corporate budget to spend on things. Anywhoo, weapon holders (guns) are generally responsible in my experience so I was nervous but not nervous. The targets are a good variety from Large to Medium to body shots to small 4-in-1. The lanes are non-descript and basic but gets the job done. Fold out chairs for visitors/teams/sitting. A desk height standing table/counter in the walkway heading to the range lanes. This is helpful as you adjust things to exit. Mon- Thur = unlimited time on the range lanes Fri - Sun = one hour times but it wasn't busy so they didn't have issues. Packers were playing. Restroom = manly kept as in they could care less about keeping it up to par and get this...it shares a wall with the range. I GOT EXTRA NERVOUS ABOUT A POSSIBLE BULLET ENDING MY WAY WHILE in a compromisingly embarrassing place (e.g. the stall). lol Right off from the freeway from the Miller Park exit. Across from Wendy's. Went with a LS deal but would mos def return to get work in. Would've contemplated a membership until I just read the initial reviewer. Members do get discounts and priority. My first time coming here was an amazing experience. I even bought a firearm from them. However recently ever since they been low on stock they just try to juice you out of you're money. Today they charged 70 for the range and when I asked to buy bullets, they said they ran out. I asked them for a refund, they refused and wanted me to take free range tickets. I would of never guessed the poor reviews that I have read on here. I had a great experience and really enjoyed the staff. I had some questions about some different guns and had very knowledgable staff member show me so many guns while educating me to make a good decisions on what I wanted to accomplish. Again I am shocked by the poor reviews and I think people should give the place another try because I and the people that came with me were very pleased and we will be back. Also I like the fact they have a membership because honestly these are weapons and I appreciate the fact the ownership gets the users of the facility to take some pride in the range they choose and also will hopefully keep some the fools out. I'm from Chicago and I visited Brew City yesterday with a friend who lives in Milwaukee to use their range and ask a few questions regarding the sale and transfer of a firearm after reading several reviews on Yelp. The staff was pleasant is getting us setup for the range and even escorted us to the lanes being first time patrons. They were also helpful with our questions about transferring a firearm. The store is well organized and spacious as is the range area which has decent lighting and ventilation. They have a policy of cleaning up your brass after shooting which I didn't mind since I hate walking on tons of shells from other shooters. There is no range officer on station but the staff was available for any problems or questions that might arise. Coming from Chicago the range pricing was less than what I normally pay so that was a deal for me. Since I brought my own firearm, ear protection, glasses and ammo all I needed to do was pay for our range time. My friend (who was female) felt pretty comfortable and expressed an interest in returning to Brew City which I appreciate since many stores and ranges sometimes come off as "men's only" clubs. Brew City Shooters Supply is the PERFECT place in Milwaukee if you're looking to go to the range, take a safety course, and/or CCW class. The staff is extremely helpful and welcoming to new shooters, teaching you the correct and proper way to handle firearms. I also always felt comfortable asking if I ever needed help with anything. They have a moderate selection of firearms, but from what I heard are also a good/reliable FFL dealer. The prices on ammo aren't too bad either! Every experience I've had here has been 5 stars. I'm a little baffled as to why Brew City shooter's supply got such low ratings. My experience here was nothing short of excellent. I currently reside in Los Angeles and came back to the Midwest for my birthday and wanted to take a formal class with my family. My folks actually reside in Chicago but due to the strict laws there we found it easier to go to a range in Wisconsin and stumbled upon BCSS. From our first phone call, the experience here was fantastic. Adam, walked us through the services they offered via telephone and was able to schedule us at a desirable and convenient time. Given that my parents had never shot before, we ended deciding on a group lesson. We arrived half an hour early and as soon as we walked in Adam was there to greet and walk us through what our afternoon was going to look like. I didn't experience the staff as unfriendly at all and the shop was immaculate. BCSS really shines in terms of their service. Adam's instruction was outstanding; He created a safe space and made safety the number one priority of his instruction. The explanation we received was outstanding and given my parents were a bit apprehensive, he was incredibly patient and professional and answered all of their questions in an informed and non judgmental manner. Before we went out onto to the actual range, Adam worked with us in a classroom and showed us EVERYTHING we needed without the stress of handling actual guns or dismissive glances from more experienced marksmen. It's actually upsetting to me that other yelpers were so critical of the employees at BCSS, for people like me learning from people like Adam allow me to gain new respect for firearms enthusiasts. If you are apprehensive about going to a range because of the people you'll meet, go to BCSS. You'll find yourself incredibly surprised ( and in the case of my parents- pleased) As soon as we got onto the actual range, Adam continued to offer us hands-on instruction and made it a point not for us to only gain comfort with guns but improve our shots. Again, From the moment we walked into BCSS until the moment we left we received attention and care from Adam and the other staff. As far as the pricing goes, I believe for several hours of instruction as well as ammunition and rental for three it was somewhere in the range of $200, so while it was by no means cheap, I've ended up spending much more on much less. Finally, I noticed that there was a lot of other reviewer's hubub about " being put on a list" or whatever and honestly, if you don't have any secrets it should be a big deal and besides, I saw no evidence of being put on a list so there. Went to Brew City, Badges, whatever you want to call it, at 6 PM for some shooting range time. The place was pretty bare, I suppose that's because of the looming assault weapons ban. It was $20 an hour for range time, but since it was a weekday it was unlimited, though they did close at 7 PM, so I figured an hours worth of shooting was fine. Nope. They closed the range down at about 630 PM. I did like how they didn't bug us while on the range or have someone looking over our shoulder, it made it easier for me to teach my friend how to shoot a pistol. As for them giving your information over to the police department, I believe this is accurate due to their honorary title of being the #1 place where criminals buy their guns. They said they didn't send your information in if you have a CCW, which I do, but I didn't see the guy make any special note of my CCW, so I wouldn't be surprised if my information is off to the West Milwaukee Police too. You would think after leaving a gun range you should feel extremely satisfied. NO NO NO. Both times leaving I felt robbed of my money. Also the employee's make you feel like an idiot. I asked if I could specifically have the ear muff protection over the ear plugs. He kinda snuffed at me and was like "Uh yea I guess... it's $3.00 extra." I was like "Okay; how much for a pair of ear plugs?" He responds "We are all out." OKAY so clearly my only option was the ear muff to begin with. Brew City is a great shooting range. I joined the members-only club and am glad to know the other shooters passed a proficiency test and talked with a manager or the owner. I like the range; it is clean, well-lit, and safe. The shop is well-stocked and the staff is very knowledgeable about firearms and shooting. I had a one-hour marksmanship lesson and am a better shooter for what I learned. I recommend Brew City Shooters Supply to my friends. I have taken friends and family there to learn to shoot safely.
