About Me: I've lived at Wisconsin Place for about six years. I'm a single professional, and I recently moved into a different unit within the building. I wanted to like this place and for a long time, I did. The Good: The location is genuinely great. The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and well-connected to Metro and bus lines. If you're not looking for nightlife, the area is convenient and walkable with nice parks nearby. The front desk staff deserve a specific shout-out. They're consistently friendly and helpful, which is honestly rare for large managed buildings in this area. As a managed building, it's what you'd expect: expensive, but relatively maintenance-free living. The Bad: Over the last year or two, there's been a noticeable decline. When I transferred to a new unit within the building, it was poorly cleaned, the dishwasher and dryer didn't work, outlet covers were missing, and drywall patches hadn't been painted over. Getting these basic issues resolved took repeated follow-ups, escalation to the property manager, and more pushback than any resident should need for move-in-ready basics. Management is pleasant enough face to face but tends to deflect and divert rather than actually address concerns. The most recent issue is packages. The building replaced its prior system with a single open room where packages for what must be hundreds of units sit on unsecured shelves. There's no logging, no delivery notification, and every resident has access. The room is fob-accessed, but it's unattended -- if someone gets through that door late at night, there's nothing stopping them from walking out with whatever they want. It doesn't feel secure. My Recommendation: I used to genuinely enjoy living here and would have recommended it. At this point, I doubt I'll renew my lease. The customer service and attention to resident safety have slipped enough that the premium rent doesn't feel justified. If you're considering Wisconsin Place, the location is excellent, just go in with realistic expectations about management responsiveness and building security. Maybe shop around to the other managed buildings on Willard Avenue or North Park. read more

The convenience of the neighborhood (especially being above the Friendship Heights Metro and Whole Foods as well as near restaurants, bars and medical offices) is fantastic. The maintenance staff is very good and responsive. Sadly, the management, especially the General Manager, is aloof and blasé about any issue raised by the tenants. Be it the messy/fire hazard trash chute rooms on each floor (because some tenants disregard rules) or the 10 or so tenants who allow their dogs to bark incessantly with their balcony doors and windows open or the hot water that's not up to Montgomery County code of 120* or the new practice of a Package Room into which any tenant can wander (instead of packages being kept at the Front Desk) or the Loading Dock door not always being secure so anyone can wander in, etc., etc. Every issue is met with, "We disagree that that's a problem" or "We'll look into it", etc. But, never is the response, "Thank you. We'll get right on it!" It took FIVE years to get the water leak fixed above the front entrance. Every time it rained, while you thought you had made it to the shelter of the overhang to then get your keys out to enter, water dripped all over you, your luggage, etc. read more

After selling our home in Bethesda, we are very pleased with our move to Wisconsin Place Apartments. The property offers a terrific home/apartment experience, easy access to the Friendship Heights Metro and Bus terminals, and a pet-friendly environment. The staff members are resident-focused professionals who respond promptly and effectively to all our inquiries. The building feels new because it is very well-maintained. Tyler and Natasha are the best - I am so lucky to live here. They are always so helpful and quick to respond to any issues. The maintenance team is willing to come in early and work late to help residents and I have never had to wait more than half a day for the request. A great example of this team's one-of-a-kind customer service was epitomized in one of my interactions with Tyler - the community manager - this morning. I emailed Tyler and his team before 8am with a frantic issue with my rent payment. Almost immediately - Tyler responded and fixed my solution. He was poised and sweet the entire time. I have lived all over the greater D.C. area on and off for two decades in many condo and rental communities, so I speak from personal experience. Wisconsin Place is a solid bet. Management is friendly and attentive and seek to resolve issues as they arise, maintenance repairs are handled on the day of said request, great seasonal landscaping and lovely blooms! Location, location...echoing other reviewers as having a Whole Foods and a Metro stop only an elevator ride away is amazingly convenient. The building is very quiet, especially at night. I highly recommend the units with a western view (i.e., facing the Geico lot) to guarantee plenty of natural light and incredible sunsets. The building was initially slotted as a condo property, hence the superior proportion and quality of the units. I especially love the large soaking bathtubs and spacious closet space! As with everything, there is always a bit of room for improvement. The front desk staff changes pretty often - it's hard to let go of those relationships when they unexpectedly disappear overnight. (Best of luck to Marilyn and Theo who were such assets to WP!) As the community allows for furry friends, expect some daily pees right outside the front entrance and the occasional accident in the hallway. Also, at WP tenants pay for all of their utilities + separately for Pepco; so if your budget is very tight, you may not enjoy the monthly Conservice bill that appears on top of your rent which includes things like hot/cold water consumption, sewer, pest control...utilities that are typically already factored-in the cost of monthly rent in other communities. A two-month notice is required to move-out without any penalty, even when an annual lease is in place. But even in light of the above, we have been very pleased with our experience and recommend Wisconsin Place 100% to anyone looking for a rental apt. in the DMV! read more

Health hazard and lack of security here. Some staff would not wear face coverings or cover properly. But for us, residents, we have to! The building is not able to enforced this rule or non-smoking rule that were to protect the health of people who live here. Need more security? yes. Homeless in our building at times? yes. 2 Arson cases? yes. Numerous cars vandalized? yes. Computer stolen from the commune computer room/cafe? yes. Rent would almost always go up every year? yes. I've only lived here a short time but have found the staff to outstanding; with such a large building (425 units) there's a broad group of residents and all are very friendly. I'm alone so have relied on maintenance for assistance. No more than a day (for non-emergencies) and all are really wonderful. The concierge desk is staffed by very friendly, helpful and professional people. And it's 24/7 coverage. The building is very secure. It's a gorgeous building--very clean and a lot of amenities. The gym is great; a business center; private rooms (at no additional cost) for watching football or having a small event. Parking garage is enormous as it's shared with a shopping area. Whole Foods, Metro, tons of restaurants are all around. The leasing staff could not have been more helpful with the move. The printed information gave me everything I needed with phone numbers. I am very happy in my new lovely, large apartment. read more

We have lived at Wisconsin Place for a short amount of time, but we have loved it so far! Khaliq in the leasing office is SO helpful and kind. We were discouraged by many other apartments in the DMV area due to their rude staff and dishonest approaches- but Khaliq and the other staff have been kind and honest since the beginning of our search process. The apartments are quiet and spacious. The area is great! There is a lot of shopping and restaurants nearby, with the big plus of a metro stop being right around the corner. There is also a lot of green space with benches scattered around the neighborhood when you want to spend some time outside. read more

I have lived here over 3 years and love this place! The building is maintained very well and I always see someone cleaning the lobby and making it nice. My apartment kitchen has a high end feel with granite counters. The ease of having Whole Foods and the Metro in the building makes this place the real deal! Imagine on a rainy day NEVER having to go outside to go food shopping. I recommend checking this building out if you are considering moving to the area. read more

We love living at Wisconsin Place. The public spaces are well maintained and tastefully decorated. The maintenance team is very responsive and repairs are made quickly. The front desk is staffed with warm and friendly people who never miss the opportunity to welcome you home. There are many social events that give you an opportunity to meet others residents. All the above is possible because of the excellent leadership of the building manager, Billy Hatfield. Billy is very professional and has exacting standards. He does a great job of communicating to the residents issues that may arrive in the building and surrounding neighborhood. I would recommend this building to anyone. It's all about location for this complex, 5stars! The amenities are equivalent to any other "luxury" complex in this area. The convenience is in a league of its own. If I was rating this complex on amenities and location only- hands down 5 stars. Ms. Brenda in the leasing office is fantastic and I'd give her 5 stars too. The others not so much. Management is horrific. I've had 2 major issues that I had to deal with management and each time it was an awful experience. This last issue, I just went directly to the CEO of Equity, David Neithercut, to get the issue resolved- after dealing with the rude representation on site (LO & BH) and at their DC location (JM). I've noticed concierge is hit or miss. To be fair, it could be due to the high turnover. The residents are pretty friendly. There have been a few instances in which the no smoking and pet policies have been overlooked by a few residents. The smoking violation is a big one because we share one exhaust system. Obviously, I'm extremely upset to sign up for an account on yelp and give my experience in dealing with the terrible management/leasing staff on site and at their DC regional office. If you decide to move here because of the location, hopefully management would've improved. I was told by their DC regional lead, JM, that the experience I had will allow them to provide better training. Not sure if it was just lip service but improvement in management would be welcomed. What I know for sure, we will NOT be renewing our lease here even if we haven't found a home to purchase by the time our lease expires. We have lived in Wisconsin Place for two years - and it has honestly been the best experience me and my husband could have asked for - and we have frequented our fair share of apartment buildings between MD and DC! Clean building, responsive and kind staff, clean amenities, friendly neighbors and occupants, never had an issue with noise, the grounds, the amenities or any of the typical concerns we experienced in other buildings. Maintenance was always responsive and adept at any problems we had reported. Unfortunately we had to move out due to our jobs, but it is the best living experience we have had, and would have chosen to continue to stay there had we had the option to! Terrible management! According to WaPo report which was published last year we had an international scammer in the building, she scammed a couple of residents & at least 2 of the residents one informed the building about her & her international criminal records but NOTHING happened! Any prompt action from the building could save others from being scammed but the did nothing. And recently this criminal is officially wanted by the Interpol check this link: https://www.interpol.int/notice/search/wanted/2018-95383 There was also a robbery incident in which a couple of MAC computers were stolen from building- which already has security cameras everywhere- & they didn't know who did that neither getting them back till we left the building. There was also a water intrusion incident that caused damages to many apartments in the building & the handling by the management was so slow & less than expected & by the end of that headache we ended with different darker floor color that we had to accept as they ran out of their own original floor colors! read more

An excellent building. I've put in two service requests (one electrical and one a minor toilet issue) and received a quick and efficient response from the maintenance crew. The building must be well insulated because I hear hardly any noise at all. And Wisconsin Place has a book club! read more

My boy and I, both of us "cradle Washingtonians," have been looking at apartment buildings. Uh...I mean, "communities." The latest one we visited is Archstone Wisconsin Place (AWP) in what the brochure describes as "DC's hottest neighborhood." Which neighborhood would that be, you ask? Read on: "Few roads evoke images of prestige, glamour and taste. But for the ones that do, they're known the world over: New York has Fifth Avenue. Beverly Hills answers with Rodeo Drive. Miami claims Ocean Drive. The nation's capital is no different---we have Wisconsin Avenue." I know, I know, I spit my coffee out too. Oh, but there's more: "...surrounded by the biggest names in fashion, it's no wonder that this building [building? Wait. Now I'm confused] will become the pentacle [sic] of couture living." Well, with a promise like that, we couldn't resist; so, off we went. Once through the ritzy front doors, we were warmly welcomed (Note to AWP Management: Your best salesperson BY FAR is Marquis, the concierge. Hold on to him ). As for the building itself, from a purely design perspective: gorgeous, if a bit overdone. HOWEVER, the "apartment homes" themselves don't really measure up to the hype. A teensy-weensy (839 SF), 1-bedroom, second-floor "apartment home" will run you a cool $2,465 a month (this does not include the additional cost of parking, or amenities such as the pool, the "club room," etc.). If "teensy weensy" is not an issue, then you might be put off by the cheapy appliances (especially the fridge...Good Lord.). But if even that's not a deal-breaker, and you can get beyond the "Uptown Chic" nonsense, then Archstone Wisconsin Place might just be the place for you. read more

I have lived here since the end of December 2018, and love the location, could not be more convenient, especially underground, weather-protected access to the metro and Whole Foods, plus many nearby stores, restaurants, and a county recreation center right next door. I have found staff and management very helpful and reasonable in addressing any issues I have encountered. It is also nice that the building promotes some activities to encourage residents to get together. In short, I really enjoy living here. read more

I lived here for one year. At the beginning of 6 months, it was a paradise for me, however, things changed after our upstairs neighbor moved in. There are wonderful things of Wisconsin Place. Billy and Brenda took pride in their work and service. They are the most professional building managers I have ever seen. The front desk associates are always helpful and nice. And in terms of the facility, there are outstanding. The building and amenities are being cleaned daily, and we are on top of Whole Food, which is amazing. Moreover, most of the neighbors are very nice.We moved out because the neighbor upstairs were constantly making noise around 4-5am for 6 months. This comes to the cons of this building. The wall is paper-thin, you can hear very minor noise, including the dog upstairs is making scratching noise. We complained about the noise from upstairs. At the beginning, they tried to investigate. However, the neighbor upstairs denied that. Eventually, it is my words against her words. I attempted to collect evidence like a detective, which is not fun. Leasing agent K was handling it, even though the whole office were aware this specific neighbor wakes up between 4am to 5am and she leaves for work at 5:45am, I was never notified. I learnt that by the front desk by accident. Our complaint was ignored and we had to move out because our sleep had been interrupted for a long period of time. I have another coworker lived in the same building for only 8 months, one of the reasons he moved out because he was woke up by another neighbor's noise at 4am constantly. We both agreed that Wisconsin Place has bad construction. In conclude, if you are lucky to have quiet neighbors, this is a great apartment. read more

Not sure what to say but this place is a family building! The staff know your name on day one and never hesitate to ask you how you're doing. If you have any issues they immediately fix it. I think I get a response to my emails within 5 minutes. I honestly don't expect the quick service but it's really appreciated. I've felt nothing but love since I moved here. I never want to leave!! Oh, and all the residents are VERY nice!! Also plenty of friendly young law students so easy to make friends. read more

I've lived in this building for about 5 years now. For starters, you can't beat the location. If you're searching for that spot this is close enough to downtown, but provides some quieter, greener spaces, this is it. The Capital Crescent Trail is less than a mile away, and you've got underground access to Metro (and Uber rides downtown are generally less than $20). Whole Foods is right next door, which is super convenient for that forgotten key ingredient, or the hot bar for an easy dinner. Shopping in the area is great (just wish we'd get a few additional restaurants...but see note above about proximity to downtown). The amenities are on par with most other comparable luxury buildings (concierges, rooftop pool, wine nights, etc), and the boot camp classes with Joe Dot It are the bonus feature. I thought I was in shape until I met him :) The Management (Billy) and Staff have always been very friendly and professional with the minimal issues I've had. They are attentive to concerns, and always answer emails and phone calls quickly. It's a very eclectic mix of residents, and everyone is very friendly/ social. I've made several friends in the building...which is great for those nights you just want to stay-in with friends or wander across the courtyard to Capital Grille. All in, it's been a great experience living at Wisconsin Place. Definitely give it a look. read more

My review is based on my opinion of the management team and on my experience visiting 2 times the building as I havent live here. I think the biggest asset of Equity Residential apartments are their management team. Since the beginning Kendall has been very nice to me, answering my questions and inquiries (that were a lot), showing me the apartment twice, answering my emails promptly and always keeping a profesional and honest atitude. About the building, I completely fall in love with it. It has modern appliances, nice amenities, very clean lounge rooms, direct underground access to the metro, close to shops, and nice views from the apartments. In general if you are considering renting an apartment in this building and havent decide yet, I would recommend asking your inquiries to the management team and trust that they would give you their honest answer. read more

This is my first ever review on Yelp but I felt so strongly I just had to take the time. I have lived at Wisconsin Place Apartments for a little over a year. Prior to living at Wisconsin Place, I rented in luxury buildings in NYC, Dupont Circle (The Regent - fantastic) and Bethesda (Upstairs - terrible). The community feel, amenities and service at Wisconsin Place are unparalleled. The service culture orchestrated by Billy Hatfield, the General Manager, has been wonderful to experience. He has helped with painting, moving furniture and carpet cleaning. His friendliness and follow-up are fantastic. The rooftop pool is an especially nice feature in the summer and serves to bring the community together. This is a wonderful place to call home - I'm so glad I do! read more

It is conveniently located and decent (not the best) building quality. However, HUGE downside is the front desk staffs (Brenda). You will be treated as if you are at DMV especially by Brenda. She will be always on the phone with her friend talking about her personal stuff while you are waiting IN FRONT OF her. When you want to interrupt and get your stuff done, she will give you huge attitude. The management should really replace her. read more
