I specifically asked what would happen when the roof eventually needed replacement and was told the panels would need to be removed and reinstalled, which had seemed to be blown off as no big deal. Fast forward to 2026. Our roof is now 20 years old, and 4 skylights have begun to leak. Multiple professionals have recommended replacing the skylights and the roof at the same time, which is reasonable. When we contacted Northwind Solar about removing and reinstalling the panels to allow roof replacement, we were shocked to learn the cost would be more than 1/3 of the total cost of replacing the roof and skylights combined, almost $10,000. Considering the age of the solar panels and associated equipment being only 4 years old, it has to be our assumption that the majority of this expense would be for labor alone, which, in our minds, is unimaginable. This expense was never clearly explained or quantified during the sales process, and had we understood how substantial it would be, it would have factored heavily into our decision. After reviewing our utility bills since the panels were installed, we have come to the realization that we will not likely recoup our investment in our lifetime, but we at least took some satisfaction that it helps in this age or rising electric bills and we could feel we were doing something positive for the environment. However, this significant estimate that's been presented has turned an investment providing minimal return into a burdensome expense. We are disappointed not because removal and reinstallation has a cost--that's understandable--but that the magnitude of that cost was not clearly disclosed up front. I strongly encourage anyone considering solar from this company ask very detailed questions about future roof work and get written, specific pricing for panel removal and reinstallation before signing any contracts.

They were excellent communicators at each step which sometimes required coordinating with the local power company. The office staff and on the job installers were both personally engaging and technically outstanding. Answered every question, showed up on time, worked hard, the best home project experience we have contracted in our twenty years in this home. Highly recommend! This is a rare company so we hope they have more work than they can handle.

The Solar Project Agreement required exterior conduit routing for both the home and garage. Arch Solar instead penetrated the garage roof and installed interior Romex wiring, which differed from the Statement of Work. A City of Milwaukee inspection for Permit ESPV‑25‑00111 failed on January 30, 2026. Arch Solar did not inform me of the failed inspection, the defects identified, or the need for corrective work, and no corrective work occurred for more than 38 days. I learned of the failed inspection after contacting City inspectors, the Commissioner's Office, and the District 10 Alderwoman's Office. During the project, a neighbor reported that her parked vehicle was struck. The MPD CAD report for Event P2604011236 lists the striking vehicle as an Arch Solar company vehicle. The vehicle was not present when the damage was discovered. Arch Solar's General Manager later acknowledged the incident in email correspondence and stated that a police squad had been dispatched. I issued a Notice of Breach on March 9, 2026, and a Notice of Failure to Cure on March 26, 2026, after the cure period expired without resolution. A June 5, 2026 engineering report documented that the prior roof penetration left after conduit rerouting lacked required flashing and presented a durability concern. This review reflects the documented sequence of events during the project.

Calling them and booking everything was so easy. They came and gave an estimate - then rolled in the price of the estimate into the work since we decided to go with them. They were less expensive than another company I looked at so I decided to go with them and they did a great job! One of the light fixtures I bought was broken (unknown to me) and they didn't even tell me until later that they went to get a replacement for me and didn't charge me for it! Admittedly they were unsure if they broke it, but either way it was nice that they took care of it without needing me to go get and pay for the replacement. They even vacuumed after themselves to clean up. Could not recommend more!

None could be given except that I would receive a call thirty minutes prior to the arrival. At 2:30 in the afternoon the call finally happened and he said he'd be here in 20 minutes. The technician arrived and within 15 minutes I was told that he'd have to run diagnostic testing. I had to sign off off on the paperwork charging me over $300 or I could pay the $75 trip charge and nothing would be completed. Of course after waiting a week and most of the day I signed the contract. 15 minutes later the problem was identified and fixed, a ridiculous amount of money was charged. I do not recommend this company!!! Although the work was completed within 35 minutes start to finish, the amount of money spent was way over the top! I'm more than sure another company could have done just as good a job, given me a time frame when they would arrive and charged me less than half of what I was charged. Shame on Current Electric.
