This little cafe uses its space very well. The walls are lined with colourful teas and teapots, with service at the very back. I started off with a kyoto fog, which was a matcha green tea, while my boyfriend got a mocha macchiato. We came here to study, but the tables are quite tiny, so we ended up moving to a long table against the wall for some more room. There is free wifi as well, so feel free to ask for that. All the employees are extremely kind. The place stayed pretty busy throughout lunch hours. We ended up ordering crepes as a snack. The batter is a little crispier than I'm used to, and I would've loved to see some savoury options, but the banana crepe was delicious with triple chocolate and peanut butter ice cream and a generous amount of whip cream. Having been serving their tea at my work for over three years now I'm familiar with the quality of their tea, but sadly had yet to actually pop into their shop. Now that they've changed over to a cafe style themselves and since I was watching a friend's cats in the neighbourhood it was the perfect excuse to pop on in. The narrow space is lined on one side with a wooden counter and a row of stools while the other has shelves lined with ready to go packaged tea in what seems like an endless variety. The narrow space reminded me strangely of record stores of yesteryear. Yes, I'm aware vinyl is back and trendy once more but this is something only us old folks will likely get a vibe of. Anyways I knew that I wanted a black tea as that was the variety that I was currently out of stock at home. With a taste profile in mind I was greeted shortly after entering and told the young woman what I was looking for, she introduced me to a few I hadn't had before but once she hit me with the maple I was sold! It was exactly the thing I was looking for. She also informed me they made a gelato out of it. Umm...what? HELLO!! So of course I had to get that too and let me tell you I could have cried it was that good! I took my purchases to go as well as a lovely Iced Thai tea, for those who have never had it you must like a strong black tea flavour to fully enjoy it (which I do!) Guess my only con was while trying to enjoy my gelato on their patio before heading off I was sort of sketched out by some of surrounding going-ons (so not their fault!). That said it was still worth the visit and I will be back to try the crepes which several people were ordering as I was there and looked amazing... I'll reserve the last star for that to see if they are as good as they looked. read more

I'm so happy that they opened this cafe. They serve the best coffee and tea drinks in London as well as very good Japanese coffee and gelato. So far, my favs are cappuccino, mochaccino, and fog series (tea + steamed milk + vanilla). They were originally a tea shop, so needless to say that their tea drinks are spot on. Surprisingly, their coffee rivals their teas!! Even their decaf is like real coffee and delicious. I love going to cages, but haven't been satisfied with London coffee before Wisdom opened because others serves cappuccino or latte with a single shot of espresso and it's too light for me. As the standard, it should be served with double shots like Toronto cafes do and finally Wisdom brought this universal standard into the London's coffee culture! Yay!! Not only that, they use the best coffee beans around here (Propeller) and the quality is outstanding. If you love coffee, you must try theirs. Very highly recommended. read more

I had 45 mins to get to a doctor's appointment and I took a gamble and thought worse case I'd be in-an-out with a crepe in 25 mins, there were only two other customer there and they had already been served. 15 mins I watched the owner talk to already served customers no other orders were in queue, just mine. The other person working just stood there. I watched for another 15 mins bewildered at how long it was taking to make a savoury ham and cheese crepe. My crepe arrives, but its a crepe in a form I've never seen. Instead of a thin and crispy crepe on a plate with utensils. Its served in a metal cone frame. Its like its served to go but since its packed with too much stuff its impossible to eat on the go. I was given a huge stack of serviettes, which is wasteful, but you need them to combat the mess. Because there was too much inside the crepe, the crepe was ice cold on the inside and became soggy on the outside. The most unusual thing was giant pieces of ice-cold cubed ham. The owner put a tea sample on my table, and tried up-selling me while I was trying to eat my meal. I said no thank you, but he continued to push different teas, till it became awkward. If he had asked before pushing I would have explained I can't drink fruity or caffeinated teas for medical reasons, or at least let me say no so I don't have to explain myself. I could only stand to eat less than half the crepe, dumped the rest and was forced to cab for my nearly late appointment. It doesn't end there. I wrote a facebook review of my bad experience and provided the condition I would update my review, on a second visit. Instead of the owner trying to resolve or validate my bad experience, he decided to argue with me. Lets Summarize: - delayed order due to needless socializing - interrupting meal with up-selling - ice-cold and soggy food - crepe does not match reasonable expectations compared to other crepe places. - argues with customers instead of finding solutions No reason to give this try-hard a second chance. read more

This is without a doubt a hidden gem. I can't get enough of the Turkey crepe - we're talking real roasted turkey, Brie cheese, rosemary, dried cranberries, fig jam, and a million other magical tastes. Knocking it out of the park. To be clear, Wisdom is new! The owner took over for his father (who owned Wisdom tea shop), and kept the teas but introduced the "Japanese Crepes" (stuffed and served in a cone shape and not flat). Tip: Don't ask for them to go (they can get mushy, and are best hot), and be prepared to wait a few minutes for your order. They're fresh, they're exquisite, and they're reasonably priced. Absolutely amazing tea! I had some yummy matcha white chocolate gelato, and I have got to come back for one of the crepes they looked delish!!!! I also have got to say that the art made me smile as soon as I walked in!!! They have beautiful local pottery items for sale as well! Love what your doing wisdom I will be back again! read more

Wisdom Tea Shop has the best loose leaf tea I've found in Canada particularly for Irish Breakfast tea. Every birthday I ask for a gift certificate and use it throughout the year to satisfy my Irish Breakfast addiction. I'm looking forward to trying the crepes too. read more
