Not only did I pay full price like I still had chicken but I really just had a caesar wrap with barely any bacon. Also order a strawberries and cream chiller asked for whip and then had to go and ask for whip since they never put it on. Disappointed in the workers at this establishment. Do better! read more

The cafe is a cute place to grab a coffee! However while I was sitting inside for a while, I had one of the baristas clear my drink and ask if I needed anything else. When I said no he told me that this was a "restaurant not a study space". Meanwhile several other people were sitting longer than me also working. Great little spot for a coffee and some breakfast. Coffee comes in real cups if you're dining in which is great. The coffee was great. Definitely better than Tim Hortons. I had a breakfast sandwich and it was great also. This is a chain I think but a good one. I'd love to try more of their food which was a good value as well read more

I have been to Coffee Culture a few times in the past, and as always I was greeted with friendly staff and served wonderful coffee, and delicious baked goods. If you have a sweet tooth, the chocolate chip muffin is a must, reminds me of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Will certainly be going back again in the future. read more

Came here on a Saturday late afternoon to read a book, and it was fine. I wasn't overly impressed with their snack selections but we tried the pumpkin scone and the spinach-feta-pastry and they were both good. The coffee was good, as was their earl grey. Lots of seating and free wifi. We sat by the window which was a mistake as it was a bit cold and our hot drinks had to be re-microwaved. What I like about this Coffee Culture is the seating. There is a lot of booths and comfy chairs at the back, and the coffee is actually okay, as well as some of their desserts. What I didn't like about my experiences, was being served by the barista and he was playing loud music from his phone while serving me. I didn't think that left my experience personal and wanting to come back. I found it quite unprofessional to be honest, and that I was inconveniencing him. I only visit this store out of convenience since it's right across from where I work, but if it were for a coffee date with friends, I wouldn't suggest it. read more

This is a nice place that serves tasty food and desserts. The atmosphere of the place is pretty relaxed and not as pretentious as some larger coffee chains. The prices for the foodstuffs and drinks are more reasonable than some other places too. The service was good and there wasn't a huge line to get things from the counter. The deserts in all coffee places seem to either sugary or decadent and this place is no different. I don't know what would separate this place out of any others and that's what earns 3 stars; it fits really well into the coffeehouse category like large chains, but they don't standout with quirky charm or something else unique. read more

A nice place for hanging out. It's usually quite quiet although during peak hours it can get a little full. There's free wifi which is decent although they might benefit from an improved router or something as it does slow down a lot when many people try and use it. The coffee itself is decent, and they're specialty iced coffee's are quite good (albeit too expensive for me to get very often). The food ranges from good for the price at the cheap end, to good but too expensive for my tastes on the higher end. The pastries are also pricy and not made in house (at least the ones I've had) but they're quite good. The chocolate butter tart is awesome. The appearance of the place is nice as well, although I usually don't like the music they play much. The ambience would fit music that isn't top 20 on the charts radio crap. I went here a few times in, like a week after pretty much avoiding it for years. As most have already said, it's a nice consistent place with a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a place where you can sit for a long while and do (school) work without hassle as I saw plenty doing so. I ordered hot chocolate on my two occasions and it's a decent cup from a machine.The club sandwich was pretty tasty, a nice multi grain bread and the toppings were just enough. The carrot cake cheesecake is nice, too.Both times the desserts on offer were exactly the same, so clearly not made in house/from scratch. I have run into mumbling counter staff that are drowned out by music and/or ambiance, which is a small annoyance. And if you go later in the evening, some items will not be available. read more

Seeing that I've been here quite a bit but haven't reviewed it yet kinda says something... it's kinda just a sad experience most of the time and I hate to be a downer and have a bunch of bad reviews for you to read. That said let's take a look at the positive: They have some good (out of house made) desserts. Their breakfast bagel is pretty reasonable and tasty. Some of their lunch options are not bad and every now & again one of their strange seasonal offerings is actually good. The caramel corn chai for instance. I think the name makes you go hmmm, but the taste (though heavy sweet) makes you go mmm. But that's where the goodness ends. This chain is owned/operated by the same business chain that owns Crabby Joe's licensing. So that says a little bit to it's habits and lack of training because I get the same vibe at Crabby's too. Some staff know what they are doing but when they are away... expect to not get exactly what you had last time. It's not my go to but occasionally I will pop in. This location is one of my favourite coffee places in the city. I often order some sort of caffeinated beverage (usually cold with whipped cream) along with some sort of fruit/veggie salad (i.e. mango almond, strawberry arugula). The service is phenomenal and always accompanied with a smile. Tammy is especially a blossom of delight! Overall, management is a major improvement in comparison to the previous owners and the food is well worth the prices! Appearance: A nice interior, with a decorative fire place and some quiet jazz music in the background. The big screen t.v. was almost distracting and is likely not needed. Food: Adequate at best. The grilled panini was still cold in the centre. The chicken wrap should have been rechristened the Iceberg lettuce wrap. Only two soups available with the ever present Chicken Noodle: people they have other broth based soups! Service: Clearly a training day but the manager was there to support and guide. I tried changing my drink because I wasn't the biggest fan of my drink (I tried something new) and they didn't want to let me do it. So I just stuck with what I got. I've gone twice recently, both times disappointed. First time, had an amazing breakfast sandwich (power-up protein), but they messed up my coffee order and added way too much sugar and cream (I asked for just milk). Second time I went, they had a sign advertising "free small coffee with breakfast sandwich purchase," I thought I would give it another go; however they would not honour their own promotion, saying a coupon was required, even though they could not show me where on the sign it said a coupon was necessary... false advertising! read more

I have never been terribly impressed with this place. Until recently it was one of two coffee shops open downtown on a Sunday. The food is ok, but over-priced. I usually order a late, but if there is any coffee in it, it is overpowered by the amount of milk and syrup added to it. Coffee culture is consistent. Desserts are on the decadent side, coffee is good. It does feel like Starbucks knock off but with more space / more comfortable seating. This Coffee Culture definitely needs new ownership. Even the managers don't know how to make coffee. I ordered an iced coffee the other day and the lady got a cup of ice and put hot coffee over it lol what the..? So basically the ice got melted in an instant and I was left with this half water half coffee lukewarm disgusting drink. I had a sip and it tasted terrible. So I told the lady that she didn't make it right and to which, the lady got super defensive and told me that she made it the proper way and that I don't know what I'm talking about. But then another worker came and said he'd make it again. So that's when he went to the fridge and got the separate container that contained chilled coffee. So I was like "phew somebody knows how to make iced coffee now". But then he poured about 90% of the cup with milk then like 1 tablespoon of the iced coffee mix. Basically I paid for milk with a coffee scent haha. Decided not to complain again since I didn't think that getting them to make it again would make it any better since it was clear they had no idea what they're doing. Also, no paper towels in the washroom and garbage cans were spilling out. Tl;dr staff doesn't know how to make coffee. I suggest you order tea since they can't go wrong with getting hot water and putting a tea bag in. read more

I went here for a mid-morning coffee and also got a breakfast sandwich. Like other reviewers, I felt that in the latte I ordered, it was far to heavy on the milk ratio, so that I didn't really taste the coffee as much as you should with espresso. The Asiago Breakfast Sandwich was good. I'd rank it only slightly better than the fast food chains' breakfast sandwiches, but the bagel with asiago was good, and well toasted. The atmosphere on a Thursday mid-morning was fine, very slow, and relaxed. The service was good for me, although I didn't make any special requests. The WIFI password I was given didn't work, although I wasn't committed to getting on, so I didn't ask for more assistance. People next to me were having WIFI trouble as well. I did expect slightly better from a place with this name and atmosphere, but it was a passable coffee shop, although coffee connoisseurs steer clear, because you will be disappointed, hands down. read more
