When you talk about pub food, this is the place. Upon hitting the Wiseman Ferry town center, it is very hard to miss this what looks like a beautiful historical building. With outside patrons many, I ventured to another good surprise. The feeling of stepping into the past with stone walls and history all over them. Each room seemed a different function with a suited theme. The bar themselves seemed cute and different in each room. The bars do not take any cards to pay for drinks so a bar ATM is near by. But hungry too, the bistro seemed the place to be. The serving sizes on all tables seemed massive. I could be happy here. A Big Beef Burger was the triple Bs I craved and still craved once completed. The whole dish was a disappointment. The roll, condiments, the beef and even the chips all fell flat. I wasn't alone as 3 of the 4 dishes on the table were quite plain in taste. The winning dish was the local fish no doubt caught down the river. Stick to local tastes. Perhaps the bar scene and locals mixing is this places thing but for a bite to eat, the bite is surely missing. Mark My Words
Lunchtime and mid week on a sunny day! Although, if you have the kids I am assured weekends are worthwhile as there is a playground with chooks and ducks. The outdoor dining area is fully covered and big with plenty of tables. Don't drop your keys or coins as it will go through the floor. The view is pretty good too. There were four of us and we all had something different. The quiche was "lovely"; the sauce on the hamburger was good; plenty in fisherman's basket but the pot pie was the pick. It is a bit of a drive from civilisation so make a day of it. Remember it is cash only and no cards. read more

Great food, history and view!! The staff are very welcoming as well!! They have a lot of history that you can read about the history of convicts. It's very spacious as well situated in the heart of the town you can not miss this place! The duck/ chicken pen is a delight for kids and adults. read more

Went on a day trip to wiseman ferry and thougt we would have some traditional pub food. Place has a good feel to it, but they only accept cash (tax office pls note!!!!) and the food was very ordinary. The servuce was good and quick, but xouldnt get over cash only and average food. read more

The food isn't exactly bad but very expensive in my view. Seems like it's tourist prices even though I'm just 30 min from the middle of Sydney. Ambient is good enough and there is a park next door and sometimes a jumping castle. read more
We always eat here when we come to Wisemans. It is a lovely drive from Sydney and Wisemans Town centre is gorgeous. This pub is a lovely old sand stone building with many rooms and bars (some not always open) the atmosphere is lovely and relaxed and the staff are always friendly. There are always plenty of locals here too. The decor could do with a bit of an uplift but for a small, old town, pub it is what you expect. The food is always satisfying but again, just pub grub. I have not been disappointed with anything on the menus so far. What I do like is the specials and there is always something different. I can see that the chef puts in the effort to make a lot of her meals from scratch which gives the food a more home style touch. The deserts are alway good too, again, home style. But what I love most about this pub is on a cold winters night they have the big combustion stove going out in the restaurant which is soooo nice and toasty. read more
