Horrible billing practices. Tried to cancel my service (due to poor internet service) but they have made it all but impossible. Wisper representatives still insist that I owe an invoice from when I sent my very first cancellation notice to them via email, despite my cancellation notice being sent well before that invoice was due. Poor business practices like this make it impossible for me to recommend them to anyone else. I got Starlink instead, and love it. read more

I've been a customer for a very long time. I now only use them for email since coverage in Troy got much worse over time. Now they have switched to a new billing system that honestly is terrible. I was on auto pay, the switch put me on manual pay and trying to get a call back is nearly impossible. One HUGH step backwards for what was once a very responsive business. * They did fix the issues of the internet failing every time the wind blew ** Constantly had to call to get internet speed fixed *** They are not open on the weekends; meaning if you have issues, wait til Monday (despite them charging more than other providers) *** They changed their billing to include "rental equipment" to increase the overall cost per a month (while enjoying your non-granular data from the router they're renting you; unsure if they sell this data...most likely do) **** When you try to cancel, they put road blocks in the way; (1) You can only cancel via the "cancellation department" (2) this department has only one guy running it (3) If you try and submit a written request to cancel, via their website...they will not honor it (4) if you're unable to get in contact with the cancellation department, prior to the next billing cycle...they will not prorate...meaning they will charge you for a full month. Get yourself better provider; this company has poor ethics and will try to nickel and dime you. read more

All I can say is TERRIBLE All I can say is TERRIBLE. We have SPOTTY internet at best with Whisper. We were out 2 days completely without it, and throughout the month of February, we would have it maybe working 40% of the time. We called and complained and asked how to fix it. We were told that everything was running fine. We have new equipment from Whisper. STILL IS RUNNING HORRIBLY. We didn't have internet again this morning. They were so nice to give LESS THAN $2 off our next bill! I cannot wait for the local internet to come our way, because we will drop Whisper the second the new company comes our way, along with many other people in our neighborhood. There will also be a party to go along with dropping Whisper and their terrible support. Thankfully the weather is breaking soon and we won't need it to stream tv, but work is a blast right now... A COMPLETE JOKE! The service guy did not have a clue what he was doing, he even told me so! It two days to install, the internet was completely crappy. I made several phone calls. There were service calls, for which I had to take a full day off of work. I finally had them cut the service and come get the equipment. I was told from the very beginning "If it does not work, we will not bill you." TOTAL BS. You better believe I got a bill! When I called about it, they said they did not show repeated calls on their end. In this short amount of time, I spoke to SEVERAL at their office. Started service in September with Wisper Max up to 400mbps. Never worked well. Never achieved even a fraction of the speed potential. Even when it worked speed tests never broke 40 mbps. We were paying $123 a month. Initial call in May to cancel was easy. I was told they would be coming to pick up the equipment. Received a phone call for a time and date. Had the equipment ready to go. No one arrived or they did not notify us when they did. Received a label via email in June for returning equipment without any shipping materials. This was odd since I was told they would be picking up equipment. I have been traveling extensively for work so it slipped my mind to call them. Recieved an invoice in July for the equipment, and at the same time they escalated collections in July. Does that make sense to anyone? Never a phone a call. No Communication. Just two emails in the span of 4 weeks. Shady as hell. How they handled this cancellation was totally unprofessional. Now they are trying to force me to pay $427 after 4 weeks for equipment I do not need or want. Highly recommend you avoid them. read more

I was with PIXIUS after Covid my contract ended up at Wisper. The high price on their packages is 99.00 and they are still charging me 202.90 and the internet is at 4Mbps when I am paying for 10? Then the internet goes out all of the time and I never get a bill and every-time I call I never get to speak to anymore I am put on hold and have to wait 20 minutes. We have been stuck with AAT and Direct TV far to long. on 2/20/19 to wonderful service installers John and Nathan connected us to Wisper Internet. John and Nathan went to work then assisted in helping me install Nextflix and Hulu , I was finally able to get rid of Direct TV and substantially reduced TV bill while gaining ad free programing. Next problem was how to reduce ATT bill.......Wisper costs a fraction of what I was paying for unlimited data and WIFI . unfortunately I still have to have ATT to a much smaller plan, it feels good to not be subjacated to a conglomerate like ATT anymore. John on first consultation informed me of pros and cons of service, only con,,,,,,service only good in house (at&t will be used for phone long distantance, facetime,text,messaging.) Our savings a month will be over 200$. Wisper thank you for having to incredible,patient,professional men working for you, we are Senior citizens on fixed income, I recommend Whisper as a solution. read more

Great price absolutely the worst service yet they just can't keep it working and take forever to respond with one excuse after another and NO break for your inconvenience pretty cold they seem care about nothing but their self and the money and wouldn't put in the extra time to complete repairs , if it's Friday and 4 o'clock and the jobs not finished Too bad. I am only rating a 1 because I cannot rate it at zero. I have been trying to work from home and 2 months ago asked that our speed be increased - which we paid a pretty penny for. Speed is still incredibly slow at times - I am booted off multiple times per day, and can never reach a live person. I cannot wait to find another provider! read more

7/2018 - After numerous outages since Jan 2017, promises of higher speeds and automatically switched numerous customers w/o notice, then come to find out many cant get that speed, and now a price increase...no more. They have expanded too fast, forgotten their roots and all about $, and and almost ALWAYS down everytime the wind blows, it rains or a storm comes by or the sun is out ! Our tower frequently needs a generator to operate and when asked about this I always get double talk why not directly tied to local utility which means its down more often too. Wow! Their tech support is worthless. I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews, but damn what poor service and tech support Wisper has. We were having problems with medical radiology reports not making it thru their system. Talk with tech support and they could not find them. Tried to transfer my email to the company that maintains my website and they noticed Wisper did not have sender policy framework (SPF) on my emails that would not allow emails to come thru. Gee, SPF was added almost everywhere 10 tens years ago, how come Wisper is still in the dark ages. If you notice there is no place on their website to leave reviews, I wonder why. I want to transfer my email addresses to another provider but Wisper will not allow me to take an email address that my business has had for over 20 years. Think twice before doing starting business with Wisper, they do not take care of the customer, their support is atrocious and out of date. I live in Highland, IL and chose Wisper in 2012 because it was a good company for the internet and we was limited on internet options in this area. At first the internet was good, not great, but you could still search online and conduct normal stuff. The we heard Wisper was expanding and the service would be better. Well since this great expansion, there has been nothing but crappy service. During the day you might get the 4g like the say, but during the evening when people are actually home, you can't even get 1g for the internet. There has been problems, after problems, with the part needing replaced and so on, and they post it on the answering service they know of the issue in your area, but there is never a solution, nothing ever gets fixed and the internet service doesn't improve. This is the worst internet company around and if something happens on the weekend, then you are done until Monday morning, when the company opens back up again.. Well, actually you won't get through on Monday either, since they knew they was a issues they will not answer the phone. So I have no clue where the CEO Nathan Stooker, reinvested his money back into the company to improve it, because it isn't that way out in Highland, IL. Currently, we are looking for any other option besides Wisper. So sick of dealing with their intermitting service and the worst customer service around.. read more

The worst internet service ever. They have technical issues all the time and the internet will be down for days and they won't even contact you when it happens! You literally have to call them and ASK them to credit you for all of the outages and they only want to credit you for the exact number of days it went out instead of thinking about the customer and crediting them for the inconvenience of no internet. The customer service is appalling- they never actually apologize for the inconvenience and even give you attitude when you call them. Unfortunately it is the only provider in our area- so if you have other options please choose those!! read more

They are terrible. Unfortunately, I have their services for work and home and it is always cutting in and out. There billing is confusing. I get a bill either via e-mail or mail from them at least every other day and the bills always have different amounts on them. Recently my services went out and I called and got a recording saying they are working on the local tower...five days later I still do not have service so I call and they tell me it is a billing issue. I talk to billing and they say I am late on my bill. I look at the last bill I received and it says I do not owe until the next month, but my services have been shut off because I did not pay my bill?????? I was SO pissed. Worst company and services. One of the most unreliable internet providers I have ever had. I wish I had options but in my case I don't have a whole lot. Was going to check into other options so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Have been using for over two years. Services slowed down all the time. Frequently it just stops working for minutes if your lucky because mostly it stops working for hours at a time. Customer service is fair but it cannot compensate for the notoriously unreliable internet service that sometimes May or may not be provided. Look elsewhere this is a waste of money. And please let me know if you have a reliable alternative. Maybe all wireless internet is bad. But I don't think so. read more
