She realized that my particular project had some special needs because of the design of my windows and made the necessary adjustments to make the entire process seamless for me. Her customer service skills and years of experience are second to none. Additionally, Charlene uses only Hunter Douglas certified installers, and Tyler, who completed my project, was fantastic. He "measured twice" and everything turned out exceptionally well. He was extremely customer focused as well, and took the time to explain to me how to clean the shutters, and how to register the warranty. Quite simply, they do much more than block sunlight--they change the entire ambiance of the room. Rather than simply blocking the skylights, these battery-operated shades seem to make them disappear, giving the appearance and feel of a true ceiling, rather than two bright and chilly recessed spaces. The battery-operated blackout shades block the morning sun, and I can finally get those early morning hours of sleep I was craving. Later in the day, when I want the room to be filled with bright daylight, I simply press a button on the remote control, and the shades slide back, revealing the skylights either partially or fully--much like the sunroof of a car. I feel like I'm on the Starship Enterprise watching these two separate shades slide back smoothly in unison. I am SO happy that I didn't go the less expensive route and choose pole-operated shades that would have required daily fussy and fumbling with a long stick. What a letdown those would be compared to these super-fun, super-gadgety Skylift blinds. I can't wait to show them to all my friends. And then install them in my kitchen, too. The enter process, from initial inquiry to final installation, was seamless and pleasant. Remote-controlled skylight shades seem to be a product that is still somewhat obscure, and I called all kinds of companies and chased many dead ends before finding this solution. Jennaver created several different window treatment system options for us to choose from, and with her great eye for design in general, suggested paint colors and other tips to improve the look of our home. Overall, we are satisfied with our master bath remodel done by KML Remodeling, but it took twice as…read morelong as it should have because of incorrect materials delivered and inadequate project management. We had to make concessions on things that were wrongly ordered and there were a few plumbing mistakes which required rework, causing the project to take twice as long as it should have. The carpentry work was exceptional, though, with attention to detail and solid workmanship, resulting in an overall successful project. But, the general supervision and communication from the project manager were dreadful and caused a very stressful experience. As other reviewers have said, messages were rarely responded to and it required me to frequently follow up just to know what was going on with the project, and who and when someone was coming. When the project manager did show up on site, which was rare, he just walked in and went straight to the subcontractor, without barely a hello to us. It's really a shame because a well done job should not be so exhausting and frustrating for the customer. As long as they use the same carpenter, I would recommend them, but I suggest making it very clear at contract signing what you expect and lay out clear rules of engagement and communication expectations. I'm updating my review rating from a 3 to a 4 because the owner, Karen, sincerely listened to our concerns and we feel that she will make the necessary adjustments so that future customers have a more pleasant experience. As previously noted, the workmanship of the main construction components are top notch and had the project manager not made the job so painful, we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Their lack of communications is unbelievable! Messages are NEVER returned in a timely manner, sometimes never returned! They messed up my walls, which thankfully I had more product so I could fix them. They broke the trim on my door and pushed it together and left it like that, so the wood is cracked! Who does that and just leaves it? The first time they installed the doors, they put them into the door jamb, so you could not open the doors all of the way! It took four days to install a vanity, a vanity top and change two cabinet doors. I have a six car driveway, they parked on the edge of driveway and put ruts in my yard! Save yourself some heartache and frustration and stay away from this company.
