I had a really positive experience with Whitbeck home appliance in March of 2026. I met with Shawn, a sales rep for Whitbeck a few months ago. He was awesome and did a great job with helping me pick out my appliances for my newly built home with no pressure. Dan and Josh delivered and installed all of my appliances. They were very friendly and professional! They took great care of my home by covering the floors and countertops prior to bringing any appliances into the home. They took their time with the install and hook up, which is important to me, especially because of having gas appliances. I cannot recommend this place. They have nice appliances, and the sales people are nice to deal with (hence 2 stars), however that is where it ends. These appliance places NEED to rely on RELIABLE third parties...like plumbers to connect your dishwashers, and warranty companies to take care of things if you get a lemon. The plumber they sent to install the fancy new high-end dishwasher 6 years ago, installed some hoses incorrectly which led to a flood in my kitchen, and our needing to pull up our floors from the kitchen all the way to the front door. Thankfully we have insurance (although after this claim our rates were hiked so high we had to switch). We should have learned the first time. We bought a top-of-the-line 4-door Frigidaire $3,500 fridge there 4 years ago. We've needed several small fixes in that time, but dealing with the warranty company has been HORRIFIC. Witbeck and Big Georges use "Centricity". Well, our fridge is now on the fritz after4 years (the freezer is no longer freezing and everything has melted), and ice-maker dripping, and as of yesterday there is a loud buzzing sound -- and we cannot get a call back to save our lives, even though they've "escalated" the situation. If I instead chose to call a local appliance company they would be here in 24 hours. We are going on 6 days, with no sign of service and no promises of anything! I am sick to my stomach. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS, and they will give you a POS warranty. Hey, Witbeck/Big George's...do better! And, Mark B. ...don't bother with the damage control here. I contacted your support/service team after the first issue and all they could do was give me the number to Centricity. No other help! Don't pay for installation from Big George's/Witbeck Appliance Mart. The store and sales people are great. However, I had a laundry tower installed. It was not installed properly to allow the door on the laundry closet to close. After multiple calls, Big George's sent another installation team. They could do anything different and I'd have to live with it. No effort to offer a solution. The fee isn't worth the hassle. Now my carpenter has to come in and fix their mistake. The installation team won't push the tower back far enough because they will squash the vent tubing. However, there are "tools" to make it work. The team would push the tower back if I sign a waiver releasing BG/W from responsibility if there was a fire. Talking about washing their hands of the matter. I am SO DISAPPOINTED with BG/W and this purchase and delivery. And I'm a returning customer!!!! read more

In March of 2025 we did a major kitchen remodel and ordered over 16k of appliances from Witbeck on a referral from Kitchen Masters in Farmington. We ordered a cooktop, hood, refrigerator, double oven and a speed queen washer and dryer. We did not hook up the speed queen washer and dryer until a few months later because we were building a second floor laundry room. When we installed the washer and dryer we realized the dryer was not working and damaged called Witbeck and asked for their assistance. The store associate told us we had to go directly to speed queen and refused to help us. The customer service on this issue is unacceptable. Walter, the manager of the West Bloomfield store, is the BEST! He went out of his way to take care of an issue that the appliance company refused to cover. HE made a couple of calls and I received a call back from the appliance company apologizing for the incorrect information I was given. He followed through on his word! It was only because of Walter calling the company that anything happened. I bought six appliances from this store and I will continue to do business with them in the future. I purchased a Jenn Air stove which was delivered broken. After calling the merchant they did not return calls. So, I called the installation company who came out and further broke the appliance. Finally, I called Jenn Air, and they shipped the parts needed (even though this is a new appliance) to the repair company. Apparently neither Witbeck or the service company ordered the parts. Hopefully they will resolve this. So sorry I went with Witbeck Home Appliance company. P.S. ... I still have not heard from the sales representative. It appears once they have your money, they have no interest in follow up. read more

Witbeck has come through for me on two occasions in a row. The first one was that I wanted in fridge for the garage. I was able to do this without ever setting foot at their location. I called and explained what I wanted and the next thing I knew it was delivered. Then I had a washer that was not working. And again, without sitting foot in the store but just explaining my needs, I was led to a washer dryer combo that was in stock and able to be delivered within a few days. On both occasions I spoke with Chris. He was helpful, patient, took multiple measurements to make sure things would fit, and got me delivery as fast as possible. Highly recommend. read more

Joe & Mike on the delivery team we're phenomenal! Professional, efficient. I had a minor issue with one of our appliances and they got their manager on the phone to come up with a solution. Andy & Marvin did a great job with all the installation and were very efficient. We have a good vent that still has to be installed and I hope I get to see Andy and Marvin again! We bought a 48" Sub-zero refrigerator from Witbeck's. I was worried about getting the refrigerator into the house and through the kitchen for installation. If you have seen the actual size of a 48" refrigerator, and realize that it weighs 880 pounds, you would understand my concern about navigating it through the doors and passage ways of the house. They called to give me a time slot of arrival and again to give me updates, and "on their way and arriving in xx minutes." The installation was efficient and it was obvious they knew what they were doing and had removed and installed many refrigerators. I was pleased with the whole process. purchased a Fisher and Paykel 2 drawer dishwasher in late 2019. dishwasher wasnt working properly December 2023. Called for service, scheduled appointment found defective part and repaired only to find another part was broken. had 3 more service calls each time found another part not working. shipped part to technetian but lost it, technician came for appointment with no part. months went by, numerous calls to CENTRICITY the warranty company with Witbeck/Big George looped in "be patient" was the consistent theme. I requested replacement, no response. After 10 months they finally repalced it after MY ATTORNEY contacted them for violating the consumer protection act. approved replacement the next day. CENTRICITY only paid for original cost and NOT installation costing me $1000 more than original. Whitbeck/Biig George declined to comp the installation and delivery cost. Very disappointed and i would hesitate to insure with CENTRICITY if thats the only option at Whitbeck and Big George because of the poor result. read more

We have been loyal customers of Big George's Witbeck Home Appliance Mart West Bloomfield for years. The last experience in March of 2021 has proved to be a big mistake. Walter Mistak, the manager, does not stand behind their products. My parents ordered an expensive washer that has proved to be a lemon. A month after ownership, it broke, and continues to break requiring service calls and long waits for parts. We've had to use a laundromat for the weeks the washer is out of commission. Walter, at times, has not returned our calls, and had basically said we have to deal directly with the Big Corporation to handle the constantly broken washer, not him who is local and who we bought the product from. Just own up that you sold us a lemon and do the right thing and replace it. We are currently waiting for a part that could take weeks to arrive. We would NOT recommend doing business at Big-George's Witbeck Home Appliance. The next time we need something, Home Depot or Lowe's is the way to go. read more

Over the years we have bought many items from Witbeck and on the sales side the customer service was great....however, we have an issue with our latest purchase and their customer service sucks and does not listen!!! We bought a stacked washer and dryer this summer for our upstairs. It was delivered in July, in September, we noticed that the dryer was sweating. Since the vent was obviously installed improperly we called to have it fixed. It was a Saturday afternoon, so we were told we would get a call back by Tuesday morning. We did not get a call until Wednesday and then we were told someone would come out on the next Wednesday (a week and a half after I called). After waiting around all day Wednesday, someone showed up at my house, but his invoice specifically said the washer/dryer was not stacked. He said he could not move it himself because there is a chance of damaging the walls (and I could not help either because of liability purposes), so he called his supervisor and the next available appointment was next Tuesday (now 2 1/2 weeks since my first call). After fuming, I decided to call Witbeck to see what I could do beyond writing a bad review.... The person I spoke to seemed understanding and told me I would receive a call with my time the next morning..... This morning my husband got the call that they would come the next wednesday. What?? Obviously, they did not hear/listen to or understand my complaint!! So I called again and got passed around and the man on the other end said he only got the message this morning and that was the best he could do! After going back and forth with him, I just said, I hope to see you next week and hung up, came home and now I am writing my bad review. read more

I was so close to purchasing a whole appliance package from Witbeck today. Apparently, I overwhelmed the sales associate by seeing if they could do any better on price. This associate did help me through several different quotes over the past few months. I showed up at the store on a scheduled appointment and was hoping I could do just a little better on price. I am able to purchase elsewhere at a better price but saw some value by still going with Witbeck. When I presented the alternative price and store to the sales associate, he threw his hand up and made comments such as "I'm done and would rather cut my losses", "Go get your deal", "I understand this is expensive for you". Wow, I even said I'm here now and wanted to make a deal. Can't blame a guy for trying to get the best price possible. But he just cut me off and pushed me out the door by belittling me. Thought Witbeck was the same reliable store that it used to be. We bought a Viking over the counter microwave and had problems a few weeks after delivery. The fan would not go on automatically resulting in the unit overheating when cooking on the stovetop. The microwave would shut down until it cooled off and we were unable to vent the smoke filled area. We spoke to Marsha who was very accommodating but still took about a month to get someone out there. The repairman was totally rude saying we were expecting more than we should from the microwave! My smoke detector went off a few times which is attached to the alarm company. The covering on the control panel is also bubbling which they said they would repair for us. Also the door is jamming and has to be pulled open instead of automatically opening. We were totally dissatisfied with the repairman who even went so far as to forge our signature on his work form. When we finally were able to talk to the manager Walter 4days later he said they only took returns two weeks after purchase. Could only repair and not exchange it even though it was only a month after we bought it. Nice going Witbeck! read more

I needed a new dryer because my Maytag of 28 years stopped working. I always look at Consumer Reports and decided on LG 7601 gas with steam turbo . Witbeck had a great price and competitive 5 year warranty plan but they only had it in black. I could have gone elsewhere but decided to stay with Whitbeck because of their great customer service and I'm glad I did . Our installers Chris and his brother Andrew went above and beyond. They found our gas dryer line hidden in back room of basement, put a label on it for me , helped me clean behind old dryer and showed me special ways to make sure my dryer was ready to work properly. They went above and beyond as does Lenny our salesman and the service manager at Whitbeck. That's why I continue to purchase from them. read more

After seeing a response from Witbeck (Big Georges) to call Debbie at their service department, I did so. I had called and left many messages with no return call. Finally, after a month I was able to get her, surprise, she had not received any of my messages although it was her voice and name on her voicemail. She asked that I send her pictures of the issue and I did and she had those within a few days. Well over a month later with no communication from her, I started leaving messages on her voicemail. Of course, no return calls. Finally I got a text saying that the manufacturer has not gotten back with her. Perhaps she will reach out to their rep. Perhaps you should call the rep in the first place as that's what they do, they rep the manufacturer. Meantime, no satisfaction, no service. AMAZING! Also, no replacement filters or sweater dryer rack as promised by my salesperson. read more

This place is no better, and is actually worse, than a generic big box store. They sell appliances, that's it, end of story. They don't offer service of any kind, they don't deliver appliances, and they don't install appliances. We recently built a house and purchased all of our appliances from Witbeck: Washer, dryer, refrigerator, microwave, and stove/oven. Afterwards we realized that Witbeck wouldn't be delivering or installing the appliances. Our builder contacted Witbecks preferred third party "installer" to handle the installation. The installation basically consisted of pushing the appliances into place and plugging in the power cords. Many of the hookups were incomplete or not even attempted. The refrigerator was left in the same condition as it came out of the box: door handles not installed, shelves not installed, packaging still hanging off of the appliance. We were sent a bill for $700 for this installation. It was only under threat of not paying said bill that the installation company came out and actually completed the installation. Upon inspection we realized the refrigerator was not even the unit we had looked at and ordered from the showroom floor. It was close but it was not the same model. We decided to let this slide. Several months after moving into our house the igniter on the stove top quit working. I attempted to call Witbeck to see if they could take care of this. The totality of their help was instructing us to look up the manufacturers phone number in the manual. That was it, zilch, nada. It took several weeks of attempts with the manufacturer (Kitchen Aid) to get this fixed. Again, they sell appliances, that's it, once they have your money they are gone and out of the picture. Upon further research it turns out this is a very common problem with this stove. It would have been really nice had our salesmen said "Hey, you really don't want to purchase this stove because it tends to break a lot." It is now several months later and this very same stove has died again, this time with no apparent power to the head unit. Everything on it is dead. It's going to be an exhausting battle but this stove is going back for a refund and getting replaced with something else. Do yourself a favor and get your appliances from a full service appliance vendor. I could have had these units drop shipped from Amazon and I would have been way farther ahead than where I am now. read more
